Quite easily THE BEST hotel we’ve ever had the pleasure of staying in. Phenomenal cliff-face location with magnificent panoramic views of the sea, Marina Seiano, Bay of Napoli, the gulf and Mount Vesuvius. We stayed for 6 breathtaking nights in a full sea view room and thoroughly enjoyed our holiday with Hotel Sporting. The service here is absolutely outstanding and the staff will do anything in their power to ensure your stay is both memorable and comfortable. Although the hotel is a four star, it could quite easily pass as a 5 star as it is set in a gorgeous location and boasts a stunning private part-shingle, part-sand beach. Rooms and hotel grounds are cleaned to an exceptional standard every day - you won’t find a cobweb in sight! The rooms themselves are well equipped and tastefully decorated in light pastel blues and creams. In your room you will find a minibar, TV, air conditioning, hairdryer, safe, telephone and bath/shower. We would definitely recommend the sea view rooms if you want something magically romantic and charming. We dined at the hotel restaurant several times (Di Sole Di Luna) and were made to feel like absolute Queens. The waiters were both friendly and attentive, and the food was simply out of this world. Fresh, flavoursome and well presented. We would highly recommend the Tuna bresaola with Orange gel, marinated Salmon with caramelized Onions and definitely the black spaghetti pasta. The restaurant is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner and offers a splendidly and genuine varied menu. The hotel is approx a 7-10 minute walk to Vico Equense station, which takes you directly to Sorrento one way or Naples the other direction. Across the road is a quaint but beautiful little family-run pottery shop called Vitale which sells a vast array of colourful pots, vases, cups, crockery and several other nik naks. A stones throw from the hotel is the beautiful church, Chiesa della Santissima Annunziata, and down the road from the hotel there is a luxurious Michelin star restaurant. The local Piazza Umberto is very cute, with its pretty fountain and scores of local shops, bars and restaurants. Be sure to visit Gelateria Gabriele for its sumptuous selection of gelato, cakes and pastries and if you’re craving a decent pizza, we would highly recommend the Metro pizza house who cater delightfully for all tastes (including gluten free!). We’d like to pass on our eternal thanks and gratitude to Armando and his fantastic team of staff for making our stay at Hotel Sporting a special one. This paradise on Earth was like our second home and hopefully one day we will return. THANK YOU x

We checked in to Hotel Sporting on 20 sept for 5 nights. We had a room with a balcony on the first floor (107). The view was amazing. The staff were all charming and helpful. While the room was clean, the shower had mould growing between the tiles and on the shower head and, the toilet did not flush properly - you had to use the toilet brush to get rid of the smallest piece of paper. The walls of the room were paper thin, you could hear every word from the room next door, you could even hear the ping of a text coming through on their phones. This resulted in interrupted sleep on every night. Breakfast was disappointing, with a limited selection of juices, cheese, bread processed meats and salads. There was also a selection of hot items, cereal, yogurt and pastries. A menu was present on the table for fresh orange juice poached eggs omelettes etc - but there was an additional charge for these items along with an additional charge of €3 for a second cup of coffee! The coffee was lovely and it would have been nice if the second cup was included in the cost of breakfast - especially if you were like us and did not eat very much. The fact that the breakfast offering was so poor put us off going to the restaurant for dinner in the evening- even though they had the best location in town. The beach - there is a lift to take you to the beach which is very convenient but you definitely need water shoes - the beach is made up of large pebbles and a little rough sand. It is difficult to walk on or get in or out of the water without footwear. You have to pay for sun loungers - parasols and beach towels. €20 for two loungers €11 for a parasol and €4 for each beach towel. Having paid €264 per night for the room it felt a bit off having to pay for beach towels. Clearly there is no litter collection on the beach and this reflects poorly on the facility. Beach staff lacked inter personal skills and took no interest in the beach experience. Water in the room was also an additional charge of €2 per small bottle. It really felt Hotel Sporting had its hand in your pocket at every opportunity for substandard accommodation and facilities and it was not value for money. Unfortunately we will not be returning.

I had an excellent stay for 2 nights in September, 2024, as part of a group. Our shared room was lovely. Immediately, our curtain/blind broke when I asked opening it to look out the window. The staff were immediately respond to the situation and took action to repair the faulty ropes. The location is amazing! So close to restaurants and the train station. A local laundromat was less than a 5 minute walk away. Staff were lovely. Included breakfast was amazing. After tour patio drinks were cheap and great! There is a private beach from the elevator but you have to pay for the chair and umbrella. I don’t like pebble stone and rock beaches and I forgot to bring water shoes, so I didn’t like the beach, however, lots of other guests look like they were enjoying themselves, so my opinion on the beach is just that of my own.

Me and my girlfriend stayed in Hotel sporting for 3 nights, we were lucky enough to book a room with a balcony which looked out to the ocean. The staff were very friendly and helpful and made us feel very welcomed throughout our stay. We will be back.

This hotel is a real jewel, away from the crowds, with breathtaking spectacular views, having its own private beach, with friendly staff, we literally fell in love... I must admit, it made us want to spend most of our time in the hotel, this is how nice it was...

We had an exceptional stay and a wonderful time at Sporting Hotel. One of the most magical places we have seen! Close by the main entrance and before the check-in there is a lovely and private terrace overlooking the bay of Naples and Mount Vesuvius! Really unbelievable! Upon our arrival we saw probably the best view of ever..!!! Our room was stunningly beautiful with a nice balcony! Food is spectacular, delicious cuisine at lunch and dinner. Sapori di Mare on the beach is a superb choice for a complete menu or a few of light meals! Also breakfast was quite pretty and full of options! The terrace restaurant DiSole di Luna is a real gem! And the waiters were great! The entire property is well kept and the staff was extremely courteous, they treat each guest with such warmth and make you as part of a family! Finally Armando ,the Hotel Manager who is a real superstar! Charming young man with a great talent to take care of people! Simply the Best! Even his team of ladies to cleaning rooms are well trained by Armando who came everyday to check if everything in the room was fine and perfect arranged! Vico Equense was a real Surprise for me and my family and we found it absolutely amazing! Hope to be back again. Anne
