Owner and staff very nice and helpful. Room was clean but very dated. Furniture with worn layers of lacquer gave a shabby appearance. Beds hard but sufficient. What really bothered us is the fact that the hotel is located on the ground floor. The 1st, 2nd and 3rd floors are rental or purchase apartments, but accessible via the hotel entrance. We stayed 2 nights over the weekend and twice we 'enjoyed' two nightly techno parties directly above us, which lasted until early in the morning. Guests coming and leaving did not take into account the hotel guests and were noisy and people banged their doors. After the first night we were completely exhausted and we spoke to the hotel owner about this. He apologized and would make sure it didn't happen another night. He also told us that we could call the emergency number at reception if it happened again. The rest of the day we walked through the city like zombies, went to the museums and castles for which we had bought tickets in advance, but due to tiredness we were not able to enjoy them much. That evening we had tickets for the musical Rebecca in the Raimund Theater but we just fell asleep. Our expensive tickets cost over €100 each. When we returned to the hotel, the reception was unmanned and we went straight to sleep. Unfortunately this was short-lived; again people in the hall shouting and banging the door. Shortly afterwards, deafening techno music sounded again. I walked to the reception and called the emergency number, but heard that the number was temporarily unavailable. Around half past four, after dialing the emergency number 20 times, we got the owner on the phone, who asked what we wanted him to do... Ultimately he suggested calling the police, but we have neither the owner nor seen/heard the police. Around 7am on Sunday morning it was completely silent and we must have fallen asleep. We woke up just before 9 a.m. and rushed to the breakfast room without showering because breakfast was until 10 a.m. Even though breakfast lasted another hour, there appeared to be no more rolls (several hotel guests also arrived after us, we were definitely not the last). A gentleman went somewhere to get bread and came back with a loaf of stale bread that was so dry it was simply inedible. We tried to eat a few slices of dry cake, but we still had breakfast in the center because it was far from sufficient. All in all, we walked with our soul under our arm for 2 days through 2 sleepless nights, were not able to use our city passes optimally and were not even able to do 20% of everything that was planned. We are far from luxurious people and have been camping with a tent for 30 years, but we have never had such a bad experience before. It completely ruined our long weekend in Vienna...

If I could not give stars I would...a hotel that is not a hotel. As a first impression, upon opening the door we found mattresses, furniture, paint and rubbish...not to mention dirt everywhere! Upon entering the rooms, cleanliness to the minimum of indecency, completely wet towels on the bed, to our request for dry towels (obviously via telephone because absolutely no one was seen) they replied that they did not understand our request! The non-existent staff were not there it was no one left to our own devices! In the morning there was only one lady in charge of breakfast, but obviously she either didn't understand, or pretended not to understand! We spent 4 days of hell!

Stay away from this "hotel" which is not a hotel, dirty everywhere, absent assistance, vomiting breakfast, putrid rooms, shuddering toilet facilities, they left us used and wet towels, the hotel is located in a decadent ancient building , just look at the attached photos to see the nightmare we went through! On the first day we were woken up in the middle of the night by two girls who had stayed outside because they didn't receive the room keys and had to sleep on the floor in the breakfast room!

As soon as we arrived at the hotel (6.00 pm) we found the room still dirty! We go to the reception and find no one. Luckily we meet the cleaning girls who tell us that they were not aware of our arrival at 6.00 pm. In 4 days the room was not cleaned (there was no toilet paper) and the towels were not changed to the point of asking the gentleman who takes care of breakfast, who gave us 4 dirty and still damp towels. Despite everything, there was no one at reception to talk to about these problems and no one answered the number left by the hotel. Another disappointment was the very poor breakfast.

Absolutely loved staying here. The staff are so helpful & knowledgeable & nothing was too much trouble. The bedroom & bathroom were spotlessly clean & bed was very comfortable. The position of the hotel was so central & it was so easy to get around from there. Highly recommend & will definitely stay here again.

It is a simple hotel, but in a good location (can do everything on foot) close to a metro station, the staff is very friendly and the breakfast was more than fine! If you want luxury or a large room, I wouldn't book here, but that's not what we were looking for.

So the location is really good. One tram stop to Schottentor. The feudal entrance in some pictures of this hotel is actually the hallway or the entrance to various staircases. You enter the hotel through a kind of apartment door that shows you the way to a network/labyrinth of corridors to the rooms. For the approx. 25 rooms, several apartments in the various individual buildings are probably connected. The condition of the room is OK. Bathroom is fine apart from the dirty wallpaper and dirt/flies in front of the fan. Breakfast is very simple. Coffee is probably only Nescafe, i.e. some kind of powder infused with water. If you are happy with a cheese roll, that is enough. The receptionist also seems to have breakfast duty, but unfortunately does not know the relevant hygiene standards of Western European hotels. If a guest puts a slice of bread on their plate at the table, you cannot put it back in the bread basket. Guests' cutlery cannot be put back - even after a visual inspection. Napkins must of course be replaced. You can't put them back, even if they don't seem to have been used. This employee was probably also responsible for room service. Normally, in a hotel, towels that are lying on the floor are exchanged and replaced with new ones. Here they are hung up again. So, in terms of hygiene, absolutely substandard.
