The hotel is located between Tarragona and Salou, within a 5-minute drive from both PortAventura and Ferrari theme parks. Neat and beautiful environment and comfortable sleep. There are many specialty restaurants downstairs.

Stayed as we were visiting PortAventura World for the first time, and as an affiliated hotel thought this would be a great choice. Sadly we have been left quite disappointed. When we arrived at the hotel, around 12 noon, we walked in and were just stared at by the two staff members on reception. No greeting, no smiles, just stares as if we were doing something wrong by being there. We explained we knew we were early but asked if we could leave our luggage and go to the bar or pool until it was time to check in (as our welcome email said we could do this). We were straight away told "No, all are closed come back at 3pm". So we were left to find a cafe and wait there for 3 hours, carrying all our luggage and large pack of waters that we had brought for our stay. When we arrived back at 2.45pm, we had to sit and wait until exactly 3pm before any staff would check us in, despite our room being ready- the first time this has ever happened and just very odd. Our welcome email also stated all the hotel's services would be available to us before the check in time, which clearly isn't true. This was a really disappointing start to our stay, and not how we imagined to be welcomed into our PortAventura hotel. We were told when we purchased our additional tickets for Ferrari Land on checking in that the last shuttle bus was at 9.45pm back to the hotel. We arrived at 9.25pm at the pick up point, yet no bus arrived. We waited until 10pm and called the hotel. We were told that they would call the company to find out where they were, and call me back. This never happened at all, and to this day no one has contacted me to apologise or explain, meaning it got to 10.30pm and we're basically stranded at the park, so we had no option but to walk the long 45 minutes back to the hotel, as the taxis had also all left for the evening. We never had an apology or any explanation of what had happened. We also found it very odd that when we asked to buy the additional tickets, it was almost like they didn't want to sell them to us, suggesting we go to both parks during our one full day. We explained that we didn't want to do this as there was a late opening for Ferrari Land that evening, so we wanted to do that and enjoy the full next day at PortAventura Park. The same happened the day before our last day, when we wanted to buy tickets to enjoy the park for a couple of hours before we set off home, where the gentleman on reception just kept telling us to come back tomorrow, and then when he did sell the tickets, they had a validity date of the day before, meaning we had to go back again to reception to check they would actually work when we got to the park. I would have thought staff would want to upsell extra tickets as much as possible! This was our first trip to PortAventura, so we believed that staying in a PortAventura hotel would be the best option for us and leave us with the best experience. Sadly this wasn't the case at Hotel Vila Central. The room was lovely

Nice stay with friends. Hotel is noisy, breakfast could be improved. The studio room is not well thought, the sofa bed is in the middle of the room, difficult to move around. Bathroom is fine, large but a little bit dated. Swimming pool is nice and the staff are nice

Located in the center of Vila Seca in close neighbourhood to several restaurants. Nice room and very comfortable beds. Unfortunately personell at the reception was not very attentive and preferred to continue smoking outside while we were waiting at the reception. Bathroom including Toilette poorly cleaned, no handsoap available. Elevators were very busy and slow. We did not visit the hotel restaurant.

1 night stay en route to our destination in Southern Spain. Really comfortable stay. We were in a penthouse suite on 8th floor which was clean, spacious and well presented. Pool was ok for us but too few sunbeds if many more people had been around pool area. Staff polite and friendly. Food (breakfast only) was really good with a good selection. Would not necessarily recommend for a family holiday as a bit far from coast but perfect for couples.

I would not recommend this hotel to any english tourists, for starters all the staff had little to no english so communication was a zero, this is not a stone throw away from the beach its about at 10/15minute drive into the centre of Salou, taxi's were 15€ there and 15€ back, rooms were extremely out dated and not sound proof at all!! There was free transfers available in the morning and so they say in the evening back to the hotel me and my partner waited 30mins in Salou for our transfer back to the hotel for them not to show up! Breakfast in the hotel was horrible and 10€ per person! It is all Spanish food. Dinner you have to book at reception the night before and cant eat until 8pm onwards not a great selection on meals either! The bar was ok but again the english barrier was a problem so staff didn't understand us very well To use the indoor pool and jacuzzi was a charge of 8€ Per Person! We stayed in a standard double room, firstly there was rubbish left under the curtains, there was a tear in the bedsheets, there was also a musty smell the the room, Outdoor pool was okay size but there was only around 7 sun beds which were always taken by 8 in the morning. I personally will not be returning to this hotel and would recommend any tourist's looking to stay in Salou to stay in the centre as Salou its self is great!

We just had a 3 night stay with my wife and kids, with the goal to be close to PortAventura. In this aspect the hotel was good. I also want to mention the swimming pool area was great! It is also in close walking distance to bars, restaurants, grocery store and a great ice cream place. However all the positives end there. The hotel is in need of a refresh, the rooms are tired and old. There were light switches that were broken, one of our rooms the shower had mold in the cocking, one bathroom door when shut was very difficult to open and would make a very loud noise. On top of this, there was also some festival in the area, which would have been nice to be warned about by the reception when we checked in. One night there was music playing until 3:30-4AM! Normally that’s not an issue, if the hotel had good windows! But unfortunately we could hear the music very loud in our rooms… I mean we could even hear a rooster in the mornings which shows the windows are not good. I am a ALL member, which normally any money spent within the hotel is counted to my points… however for some reason the hotel tried to tell me that the restaurant and pool drinks/snacks are not part of the hotel and thus would not count…? I’ve never heard that before and is really against the point of the membership in my opinion. This also meant you cannot charge anything to your room.. not so nice to have to carry around cash or credit cards when your going to the pool for example. The breakfast is pretty good, however the restaurant is terrible. It’s of good value yes, but to us it felt like it was reheated dishes in the oven or microwave. It really was not good. I strongly recommend going to one of the restaurants in walking distance which are fantastic (the tapas one just up the street to the right is amazing). I do want to highlight however the staff in the restaurant were great, very friendly and playful with our kids. The WiFi is terrible as well.. forget about watching Netflix or anything like that. Overall we were really not satisfied.

The hotel is a solid 3 star experience. The girls at the reception were only semi friendly, the room was clean but not in the best condition, the breakfast was pretty good, lots of things to choose from. The hotel is located in the middle of nowhere, so you'll need a car to get to, well, pretty much anywhere. It was an OK stay, but definitely not 4 stars.

Mmm. Where to begin. On check-in told no restaurant, no bar and no cafe as they were all rented out to private party. Only drinks available were via a vending machine. Bar might be available from 2000, but you’d be lucky……. Good point is that there are several local restaurants which offer great value for money food. Room ok, but with interconnecting door…..which was as good as useless for noise control when the neighbours checked in. Major good point was front desk gave us a room change to “quieter” part of hotel. Much nicer room but….. All rooms open into the main auditorium. As previous travellers have noted, it makes the place very noisy. Bedlam from 2230-2315. Breakfast good. Great hotel if you’re under 25, go out clubbing and want nothing from hotel services. Otherwise, steer clear…..

It’s clear this was a hotel purchased by Accor and rebranded as Mercure , but with very little refurbishment in the rooms . Having stayed in a lot of Accor branded hotels , this just didn’t feel up to standard. The kitchenette was very dated , my bathroom had a terrible smell and the internet speed wasn’t able to handle a work zoom call ( 2.3 mbps max) . The staff are friendly and a great view from the top floor balcony but investment is needed to improve room facilities
