Wir, also 2 Einheimische wollten gerne ein Eis am Faaker See geniessen. Wir kamen zum Cafe Schönruh, da stand auch draussen auf der Karte, was es alles gibt und wir entschieden uns hineinzugehen. Die Terasse war komplett leer. Es war wirklich niemand auf der Terasse. Jetzt wissen wir aber auch wieso. Der Kellner stand hinten und telefonierte erst mal. Dann kam er zu uns. Ich frage ihn ob sie eh offen hätten da wir gerne ein Eis essen würden. Darauf meinte er dass wir nichts bekommen da wir ja keine Gäste sind. Einheimische wären eher in der Zwischensaison erwünscht. So oder ähnlich hatte er es formuliert... Ich war ziemlich baff und wir sind dann sprachlos rausgegangen... Wir kommen sicher nicht wieder auch nicht in der Zwischensaison...

Vriendelijk ontvangst en we konden gewoon aanschuiven in de tuin zonder reservering. Heerlijk gegeten. De vis van de dag is zeker een aanrader! Uiteraard heeft dit restaurant een mooi uitzicht over het meer.

A bit old but not annoyingly , on the negative side the wall-to-wall carpet which is a thing almost everywhere in Austria .. Surrounded by beautiful gardens, very close to a magnificent place on the lake at a walking distance , with great views and friendly staff. Nice breakfast with adequate variety, spacious rooms and renovated bathrooms.

Hotel mit Traumblick auf den See. Das Personal überaus freundlich - vor allem Herr Georg, der besonders bemüht um jeden einzelnen Gast war. Sogar der Küchenchef geht auf jeden Wunsch ein und serviert phantastische Menüs. Das Hotel selbst sehr sauber, aber schon etwas "in die Jahre gekommen": Betten sind sehr, sehr niedrig, Teppichboden wirft sich, Balkonmöbel schon etwas "abgewetzt". Zum See (Hotelstrand) sind es ca 600m bergab, wobei man eine Straße queren muss. Für den Rückweg hatten wir den Hotelshuttle bestellt (in der Hitze bergauf zu anstrengend)
