Gostops Pondicherry, Auroville

The location is in Auroville, which comes with a bunch of restrictions like no smoking/alcohol. Besides, they provide check in at 1pm (in a place where everything closes by 6), & even that is delayed.

Don't book this place if you are a solo traveller or a backpacker like me. The entire property had two groups of 20 people each staying. They encroached upon the entire common areas, rooftops so I ended up being confined in my room. I couldn't sleep on the 2nd night because there were 3-4 people in my room just coming and leaving, talking, smoking outside. GoStops Auroville ruined my stay experience at such a nice, quaint and beautiful place. Its hardly a backpacker hostel. there are big groups staying here so as a solo traveler or a backpacker, I could hardly leave my dorm. Atleast one dorm could be kept for people who were not the part of these groups and they couldn't even do that.

First impression, the hostel's architecture was good and clean giving a sense of safety in the area. Rooms where clean and spacious, the beds were comfortable but could have been bigger for tall people. Had a great time with Dinesh, Rupali and Anjali, thanks guys. It would have been tough for me to break ice with everyone if not for you guys.
