When arriving to our room it smelled like ramen noodles, my fiance said that's what bug spray smells like. The shower was dripping and was covered in limescale. The moment we set our stuff on the beds after using the restrooms, a cockroach ran across the head boards on the beds. We called the front desk to let them know and was asked if we wanted them to spray the room or get a new one. We instantly booked a separate hotel, when we got to the front desk to tell them we were not staying the two nights we booked because we felt uncomfortable staying in the room with the cockroach, they tried to say it was a "water bug" and that its house keepings fault that they leave the door open when they clean. I have pictures and it is most definitely a cockroach. They informed me that I would have to call ******* to get my refund, even though my card was charged with the hotel for both nights. I called ******* and they informed me that the hotel would give me my refund. I called the hotel back and the woman at the front desk was definitely not as polite as she was in person when I told her that I needed them to refund my money, she then told me after that they do not do refunds. So I called *******, again. They told me that they are to refund my money and they sent them an email about it. I gave it about 45 minutes before calling the hotel back and said that ******* said that they are to refund my card, again not very friendly tone informed me that I was to call the manager in the morning because she could not do the refund. The manager I spoke to was much more polite and I received my refund. Needless to say for almost $700 for two nights, I was not happy especially after driving 9 hours to stay.
