The hotel was clean, staff very friendly, the food was very good and plenty of it! Drinks were extra, just pay after meals. We stayed overnight as part of our safari package. We felt very welcome. Views were amazing, get up early and watch the sunrise!

Breathtaking view from the dining room from where you can see elephants grazing. Amazing infinity pool overlooking Tsavo East National Park where we chilled and had a drink, very good food. It's just 5 min drive from Voi gate. What can you ask more?

When I addressed the manager that I think money got stolen from my room (I counted the money a day before and someone had access to my room at lunchtime to bring me towels, when my bag with the money inside was laying on the table) and asked for a solution (in a kind way) like a partial refund of my stay or something, he got verbally and physically aggressive. He said he doesn’t believe me and that I was lying. But in the other sentence he said it was my own fault that my money got stolen because I left my money in my (locked!) room in his lodge. He repeatedly said “it was your own stupidity” and didn’t stop telling me how stupid I was. I then asked him if he’s fine when I record his words to prove how disrespectful he’s treating me to my safari organization later on, he agreed and repeated his words “your own stupidity to leave your money in your room” but then he probably realized that his words are on record now and aggressively grabbed my phone. It almost fell and could have broke. When I told him that I’m gonna write a review to warn people to come to this place he said he doesn’t care because he’s gonna respond to my review. The friends that I made on my safari (I normally had a private room) were so afraid that he could come to my room at night to try to stop me from writing the review in a harassing way, that they let me sleep in their room. Of course the guy that went to my room said he didn’t take the money and I couldn’t prove the theft because I didn’t film him taking the money or something, so it’s word against word. I can understand that the lodge can’t do anything until it’s proven. But a lodge manager has to show some respect for their customers. If he said he’s sorry but he can’t do anything and has to decline my solutions that I asked for, it would have been okay in the end. But the way I got treated there was just pure disrespect. To sum it up, I would highly recommend to avoid this lodge if you want to be safe and rather book a different one as there are others close by.

Be prepared to be waken up in the middle of night by centipedes crawling up your leg. Service is not that attentive. Drinks not included so be prepared to pay after meals. Way overpriced for what it is. Day# 1 was ok, second day was terrible. Nice views though.

Very bad expérience, the service is completely absent! Not welcoming at all. The room was dirty and so is the whole hotel. The food is bad. Coffee was oily… Dead insects everywhere, such a shame for this hotel and its good view. Not recommending at all.

We spent one night in this hotel, on a trip to Tsavo National Park arranged by a local agent from Diani. The hotel overlooks vast areas of the park, absulutely awasome view from the lobby, especially during the sunrise and you can watch elephants walking down in the valley. We met with the owner who led us downhill to see leopards. Food was tasty and one can not complain about the service, the staff makes every effort to keep insects out of the rooms. The hotel may need some refurbishment however it is wonder that it survived 2 years of lockdown at all and still operates offering worthless, once-in-a life experiance.

I visited Lion Hill Safari Lodge with my family this summer. We stayed for 2 nights. The room was functional, practical, and had breathtaking views of Voi National Park. Due to it’s natural atmosphere and environment, the lodge did have an array of lizards and moths in the vicinity. However, this just added to the Safari experience. The breakfast, lunch, and dinner that were included with the price were delicious, and served by lovely waiting staff in the clean dining area. The free wifi was extremely quick, in the dining area. However my only drawback is that the wifi did not reach as far as the lodge rooms, and was only accessible in the dining area. The pool was clean, but cold. However the warm outside weather allowed this to be nothing but a minor setback. The view from the pool was spectacular, and definitely Instagram-worthy. I would definitely stay in this hotel again ✩ ✩ ✩ ✩

Booked this lodge on the recommendation of expert zoological family members. Amazing location on a rock escarpment right up against the park fence with Dassies often seen scampering about in the rocks below and Hawk Eagles coasting past. Noisy lesser grey Shrikes chatter in the trees in the garden. In 2021 a female leopard apparently got into the lodge garden so don’t wander about late at night! The rooms and bandas overlook the park and the frequent breeze and altitude makes it comfortable. The showers are simple but hot and the food likewise. The staff are charming and incredibly helpful and we were made to feel very welcome. The on-site pool with bar and views over an artificial waterhole offer added bonus game views. We saw waterbuck there. Game drives and trips to the high altitude forests of the Taita hills are on offer. Most of the guides are knowledgable and all were very cautious drivers. The website is a bit primitive and online booking didn’t work so we used email instead which sometimes was a bit slow. The IBAN we were given for payment was also incorrect so we ended up paying by card.
