Hale 'Ohu Bed & Breakfast

Outstanding bed and breakfast in great location. Amazing attention to detail with friendly and helpful staff. Immaculate accommodations, beautiful grounds, and great breakfast. Bed and breakfast is just minutes from Volcano National park. Among the amenities included in our room was a shoe cleaning kit that came in very handy after spending a day hiking in the park. Book provided in the room covered everything you could think of and was extremely helpful. We grade this a six out of five!!

My wife and stayed in Red Ginger for three nights. This is a wonderful place to stay, the owners thought of everything in the room, nice design, quality linens, robes, umbrellas available at the door, blankets on the chairs of the private patio. To be noted, this is not a typical B&B where guests gather in a breakfast room. Rather, each day your in-room fridge is stocked with items for the next morning. This was perfect for us since we usually wanted an early start so we could get to the park for hiking. There is a common room with more coffee if you run short in your room also. Highly recommend and will stay again.

Great stay. Room was clean and modern. Full of amenities including a ready made breakfast in the fridge. Owners are super nice and helpful. The grounds are lush and has a couple walking trails thru the forest. We were only able to stay one night but felt so peaceful and relaxed the moment we arrived. Wish stayed longer.

Beautiful setting, quiet and comfortable. We enjoyed the breakfast and lanai seating. It was raining so we didn’t take the walking trail. We were warmly welcomed and offered tips for dining. I was hoping one of the resident cats would pay us a visit, but none did; but again, it was raining.

My Adult daughter and I recently stayed at this beautiful Bed and Breakfast, The grounds are beautifully kept and we enjoyed our time walking around and amongst the native Hawiian flowers. The room had the most comfortable bed I have slept on in a long time. The breakfasts were lovely and delicious with new surprises daily. The owners are knowledgeable and helpful with the local historical and tourist attractions. The ambiance of there Bed and Breakfast transports you to another world and you cant help but relax in this tropical side of Hawaii. You can't miss this opportunity to stay so close to the volcano to explore the many hiking opportunities. We will definitely be back.

Hale Ohu We stayed here from April 27-30 This is quite possibly an actual paradise located in the small volcano village, it’s a 10 minute drive from the Volcano National park. We stayed in the bamboo room. The room is immaculate, has everything you may need. There were detailed check in instructions before arrival. Nicole greeted us with a huge smile and answered our questions patiently. She gave us several recommendations on the park and things to do. The room is within a rainforest and is immersed in nature. Parking spots on premises. We heard lovely Hawaiian honeycreepers during day and the frogs at night which was amazing. The room has a breakfast nook, coffee, tea, kettle, fridge, microwave. They even have robes and shoe cleaners! There’s a hair dryer. Bathroom is spacious and well stocked, with an amazing shower. Every little thing has been thought of. Umbrellas outside to use, dehumidifier in the room. Other amenities are WiFi, smart TV, heater, heated bed. Highly recommend this heavenly rainforest “house of the mist”. We will definitely return and stay here when we are back in the area.

This is our second stay at this amazing, adults only BnB. The rooms are spotless, the tropical breakfast is always wonderful and the peace and beauty of this place is not to be missed. On a clear night, you can sit on the patio in the snuggly robe and blankets they provide and see more stars than you ever imagined. The gardens are filled with birds and beautiful flowers.

A lovely, peaceful location surrounded by rainforest with a walking path on the property to explore. A very warm welcome from Nicole, a comfortable bed, a quiet sleep and the softest towels ever! A mattress heating pad was perfect for a good night’s rest after hiking all day. Location is perfect for easy access to the lava tubes and hiking the caldera of Kilaueia Iki. Loved the lush surroundings, hearing the birdsong when falling asleep. Having the breakfast in the fridge the night before is ideal and convenient for eating at a time that suits your schedule. Would definitely return again if it wasn’t so far from home.
