We booked a last minute unit at the Aloha Junction Guesthouse when our other hotel fell through after traveling from Japan and driving all the way up to Volcano. The owner of the Aloha Junction Guesthouse was so kind and compassionate about our situation and was able to book us in their cozy and welcoming Pele room. The King and Queen beds were very comfortable and the two full bathrooms were a nice amenity since we had 3 adults in the room. The cozy fireplace warmed up the room instantly. In the morning we enjoyed the coffee, french toast and granola that was provided. We enjoyed a delicious Thai dinner in town as well. We will definitely be back!

Peaceful, tranquil, amazing find at a wonderful price. Guests have access to the main part of the house with a living and dining room, but can choose to stay in their rooms since each has a private entrance. There was a beautiful backyard tropical garden with a few fruit trees and chickens that can be enjoyed sitting on the back wrap around porch. So quiet during the day! At night, enjoy the eery but lovely sound of coqui frogs and gorgeous views of the starry night sky. Be prepared with warm layers and rain gear as it gets cold in the evenings and there's mist or rain nearly every day--it is a rainforest. Also beware the earthquakes! Volcano apparently has them frequently, and they feel kind of like the wind is shaking the house. However they don't last long, and added to the sense of excitement and mystery of the stay. 5 minute drive to Volcanoes national park, 40 minutes to Walmart, Target, and cheap gas in Hilo. Access other areas in about 2 hour drives to the north east coast or west coast. Can't wait to stay again!

Beautiful former plantation house that is now a guest house. The grounds, lanai & common rooms are lovely. Our room was cowboy themed and done in good taste. It is equipped with microwave, refrigerator, coffeemaker & kettle. The host provides a gift basket of food for your first breakfast. The guest house is perfectly located near Volcanoes National Park. The host provides recommendations about local restaurants & grocery stores. Although we did not meet our hosts, they were available by phone if needed.

Beautiful property, bed was very comfortable lots of amenities. The staff was very welcoming and it was extremely close to our activities up on the volcano there was also the most delicious café, just around the corner- O’Helo. Great service amazing food
