Note that the train station nearby is JR Wakayama station and not Wakayama-shi (Wakayama city) station on the private train line. I made a mistake myself and had to get here by another train ride. This is a very pleasant town. If you have time, take the JR line to Kishi station (貴志駅) to see its famous cat manager Tama.

I stayed in Wakayama for the first time. There were few restaurants around the east exit of JR Wakayama Station where the hotel is located, but there was no problem because I could go to the west exit through the connecting passage. There was a convenience store nearby, and buses to Kansai International Airport were also arriving and departing from the bus terminal at the JR East Exit. The hotel room was based on black and I was able to sleep slowly.

the wakayama castle is over looking from the elivator and maybe some rooms can see it also .. but sad to say the room is not so clean,,, lot of dust we found on bed board...
