Liked · The room and bathroom was clean. The owner was initially friendly - I asked about check out time, she said not to worry - whenever I was ready, which was a lovely response. Parking was easy. The bathroom was well presented. Disliked · The shower was scalding - when I told the owner she said 'many people' had complained, but the fault was with me (and the previous people) because we didn't use the dial. I did use the dial and it was scalding. Given that many people have complained, clearly the issue is the shower and not 'many people'. She later said this was 2 people. The owner was hostile at my complaint, which really is not unreasonable. The room is shabby (see pictures). The curtains don't fit, aren't hung properly (see pictures). The furniture is sp**** and shabby (see pictures). Windows frame appears to have melted. Holes in the curtains (see pictures). The bed is squeaky as soon as it is touched. The owner, when I complained about the shower, said she isn't a 5 star hotel, she is a 0 star hotel. This really isn't good enough. The basics I expect is a bed which doesn't squeak and a shower which is usable.

We were able to stay comfortably.
The ground floor is a pub and there is a lodging room on the upper floor.
Check-in was done at the pub counter.
It may be hard if the luggage is heavy because you need to climb the stairs to the room.
The single room I stayed in was an attic on the top floor, with open and closed skylights, sunlight in the daytime, moonlight in the night, good view, not bad room. It was a skylight with a screen, so I could darken the room if I lowered the screen.
The room was convenient with TV and refrigerator.
The shower room and toilet were shared.
I can't use the kitchen.
Going out after check-in had to go in and out from the back door of the hotel. The lock of the back door needed a little trick to open.
Breakfast was served with English breakfast. Simple and delicious.
The location is a short walk from Forest Gate station in a 10-minute walk. The hotel is located in a residential area, but the sidewalk was uneven and it was difficult to roll the suitcase.

It's hard to find this hotel first, No visible sign on display 🙂
No service at all, I booked a double bed room included with breakfast, there was no reception to check 🙂🙂
There was one mobile number on the room door but nobody answered my calls for our breakfast and I couldn't find anybody to handover the room keys for check out , so I had to leave the keys nearby the door itself.
Totally disappointed and highly unprofessional, not recommended 👎👎👎

Wonderful hotel with excellent location. The room was clean, very comfortable and had great view of the London Stadium. The location was amazing, next to a huge Stratford Shopping Centre and to the subway station with many subway lines. The staff was friendly, professional and very helpful. KUDO to the Concierge Staff, especially NALEEF, DANIEL, AND ONE OTHER GENTLEMAN (sorry! i forgot his name). My wife got pickpocketed in London. The Concierge staff, especially Naleef, went above and beyond their duty to help us to deal with our distress moments. He advised us to report the theft to the London Police, and also the Concierge staff helped us tremendously to deal with our stolen credit cards. We really appreciated what these amazing staff did for us. Thanks so much to Naleef, Daniel and to all the Concierge staff for making us feel so welcome and for all your unforgettable help during our stay. The world needs more of these people like your Concierge staff. Hyatt should be very proud to have these amazing Concierge staff. We certainly will return to this Hyatt hotel in the future and would highly recommend this Hyatt hotel to anyone!

Have stayed in a HIE before so checked how close this was to the ABBA arena and saw it was only about 15 minutes walk away. Arrived just after 2.00pm and room was ready. Check in efficient and polite - room was clean and had everything needed for a one night stay or even more. Tea and coffee making equipment and supplies provided, iron and ironing board, room safe and sufficient hangers. Had a drink in bar before heading out then another when we returned. Lots of fellow concert attendees to chat to! Breakfast more than adequate. Although we don’t usually have the hot food, the fruit compote and yogurt were delicious and there was plenty of choice of other things. All the staff were extremely pleasant and everywhere we saw was clean. We were very glad we had chosen to stay here. Would definitely recommend. Excellent value for money.

We stayed at Ibis Budget Barking on one of the hottest nights of the year. The air-conditioning worked brilliantly, so we had a much better night than friends who stayed at a much more expensive hotel in central London! We were attending an event at The University of East London SportsDock. It was very easy to get to - just a short walk to the bus stop by Tesco, a 19-minute bus journey which took us very close to the venue - so Ibis Budget Barking is ideal for anyone wanting to go to something in East London. The front of house staff were very courteous and helpful. I have rated this 4 rather than 5 as a kettle ought to be a standard offering in all rooms (in Ibis Budget Portsmouth we had a kettle). But, all in all, an excellent budget location.

Stayed for a night and got an amazing room! Very spacious and comfortable, im extremely grateful! Definitely will be back! Complete amenities and a great view too! The shower was lovely, fully functional and detachable. I had a massive view, and a double bed. Breakfast was an option but and seemed lovely but I didn’t try it as I was there briefly.

But definitely worth noting the staff at this one are particularly helpful. One in particular - Idris. Is the most helpful and friendly person I’ve met in a long time. GGuest UserWe always stay at the Lion & Key when we visit London and have been fortunate enough to stay here again in October, December, and also January for my husbands 80th birthday. This really is the ”Savoy” of the small hotels in London and we always know without fail, we will have the most perfect stay. All the staff genuinely care about their guests having the best experience and you cannot fault the care and attention to detail that this hotel takes to ensure an excellent customer experience. They have a great team of which we would like to thank Giorgio, Kanti and Stephania for making all our visits a home away from home. The rooms and also public areas in the hotel are kept pristinely clean and are bright and cheerful. I love the attention to detail this hotel has even with the smallest thing. i.e. the shower cap in the bathroom also has a small hairband in the box ,which is excellent if you have long hair and can’t find your own! The beds are also extremely comfortable and we both always have an excellent night sleep. We love the open kitchen where you can see all the food being freshly prepared and cooked to order. They are very generous with their breakfast time which doesn’t end until 12 o’clock lunchtime. The choice and range that they offer in their restaurant, regardless of breakfast or main meals throughout the day would accommodate even the most fussiest eaters, which I am, but even I am extremely spoilt for choice as the breakfast menu is so comprehensive. The quality of the ingredients used in the restaurant is first class and so is the time and care in presentation which also reflects the pride that they take. We can honestly say that the breakfast’s we have at the L&K are the most tastiest, freshest, consistently perfect breakfast’s we have ever had and far exceed the quality that we have experienced over the years in 4 & 5 star hotels. To be honest, we often wonder how they continuously provide such care and attention to detail for the customer, even more so since Covid as many many hotels and restaurants seem to still use this as an excuse for a less than perfect service or menu range. We must’ve had over 100 of breakfasts since we have been coming here in 2018 and the eggs are always perfectly cooked with a lovely orange yolk, regardless of whether it’s a normal full English breakfast, or my husbands favorite the Egg Royale. We very rarely eat sausages or bacon at home, but the quality and taste of the ones here are amazing, so we always, always enjoy our breakfast which set us up for exploring all day. The transport links to this hotel are excellent as well. There are four buses that go past the hotel to Leyton underground, one of which is running 24 hours and they seem to come by every few minutes. Stratford is only four stops from Leyton so excellent connections for overground, DLR, O2 etc. Liverpool Street is the next stop along for even more connections so the location we find is a great asset to wherever we
