Fairfield Inn and Suites Rochester East

Terrible location nothing near it and staff are totally disconnected from customers. Tell them 3 times it still does not happen. Heating aircon very noises. Too many different staff at front counter. Restaurant area extremely crowded. Housekeeping is camping bring your own linens

Housekeeping was difficult to get male housekeeper on Sunday. Kept trying to enter room without knocking. Could not speak English. Never cleaned room after we left for day. Front desk requests for housekeeping never followed through. Little things front entrance trash never emptied on weekend, trash in parking lot.

(Went for two nights in conjunction with the solar eclipse) First the good: Spectacular theming for the eclipse. Treated to welcome bags for the whole family filled with eclipse glasses, cosmic brownies, Sun Chips, etc. plus info on local gathering/viewing sites. Drink display on eclipse day with Sunny D, Capri Sun, and Sunkist soda. Just really cool. Quality pool/hot tub, good breakfast that included non-dairy milk options. Good-sized room (2 queen). The bad: Scammy from a point that their usual 2-day member flexible cancellation ballooned to 7-day cancellation solely for the eclipse. Rochester ended up cloudy and I couldn’t afford to lose that amount of money to pivot elsewhere when the 7-day clear forecast changed to clouds 3 days prior. As a result, the family missed out. They still made their money but that’s just crummy to do to people. This was a stretch for our family for a once in a generation experience, we are not wealthy by any means. As for everyday things, the thermostat only gives the illusion of control. We set it to 66 for overnight, but the actual room temp stayed at an uncomfortable 70. I messaged the front desk and they changed it to the “VIP” setting, “allowing” me to go down to 64…but the actual room temperature still stayed at 70 the entire time. My verdict (eclipse aside): Would be in the mix if I’m in the area again, but the room temp issue would give me pause.

I made many attempts to contact the hotel to modify a reservation but unfortunately we could not get a hold of anyone at hotel. Voicemail is full and dial by name directory does is not working. I tried emailing the GM without any luck. Also to make things worse, This hotel has a 7 day cancellation policy

While attending family weddings in Rochester, NY July and November 2023 our family occupied several rooms at the Fairfield Inn and Suites. The hotel is very dated, but kept very clean! We were told upon arrival housekeeping was every other day. During both trips we never received any upkeep to our rooms at all. We collected our own garbage, tended to our towel needs and replaced our papers products. The cost of rooms per night were, of course expensive! Marriott really needs to make improvements on their customer service!!!!!!!

The entire room was literally shaking from some mechanical humming that kept me up all night. I was so fatigued I went i to an afib attack. I would have been better sleeping in my car because it's $260 cheaper and I probably would have gotten more sleep. Moreover, the air conditioning didnt work. The room stayed at 76 degrees the entire night. I kept asking myself why this hotel was so empty when literally every other hotel is sold out. Now i know why. Not even close to worth the charge.

Fellow Road Warriors / Business Travelers - this hotel has an "Early Departure Charge of one night's room & applicable tax applies." I called and this is a TWO NIGHT MINIMUM. If you plan to cross the state, one night here, one night there, this is not the hotel for you.
