Hotels near Ballon Oase, Weilburg

Die zwei Nächte in diesem zentral am Rande der sehenswerten Limburger Altstadt gelegenen Hotel hinterließen bei uns einen zwiespältigen Eindruck. Wir hatten ein Panorama-Doppelzimmer sowie ein Standard-Einzelzimmer gebucht. Das Doppelzimmer war brandneu, stilvoll-modern eingerichtet und bot wie versprochen einen tollen Blick über die Dächer der Altstadt zum Dom. Edel wirkender Holzfußboden und hochwertige Möbelstücke vervollständigten den ausgezeichneten Gesamteindruck. Dieser setzte sich im in Granit-Optik gehaltenen Badezimmer mit großzügiger bodengleicher Duschkabine fort. Im krassen Gegensatz hierzu war das Einzelzimmer extrem abgewohnt und entsprach keineswegs mehr heutigen Standards. Der uralte Teppichboden wirkte unhygienisch, das Bad aus der Zeit gefallen. Ähnliche Kontraste beim Frühstück: Während der anscheinend erst kürzlich komplett neu gestaltete und geschmackvoll dekorierte Frühstücksraum ausgesprochen einladend wirkte, war das Speisenangebot eher durchschnittlich und ohne irgendwelche Highlights. Zudem waren die beiden jungen Männer am ersten Morgen mit der Pflege des Buffets ersichtlich überfordert, sodass ständig elementare Dinge fehlten und die Präsentation wenig attraktiv wirkte. Die bestellten Spiegeleier wurde erst nach Reklamation serviert. Vollends den Appetit verdarb uns dann, dass eine der ausliegenden eingeschweißten Vollkornbrotscheiben seit zwei Monaten abgelaufen war. So etwas darf wirklich nicht passieren. Die beiden Damen am Folgetag hatten das Buffet hingegen perfekt im Griff. Das Personal an der Rezeption verhielt sich korrekt, wirkte jedoch nicht sonderlich interessiert. Die versprochene E-Mail mit der Rechnung habe ich auch zwei Tage nach Abreise noch nicht erhalten.

I made a last minute booking for this hotel on a drive through Germany. My room was perfect with separate shower room, sink in the room and toilet in another room. Air conditioned and very comfortable. Free parking and friendly staff. Very clean. The hotel is close to the centre of town, just a 10 minute walk and easy to find from the motorway. It was very quiet and I felt thoroughly refreshed the following morning. Excellent continental breakfast was included with my room.

Um die Zufahrt zur Tiefgarage zu finden, ist Konzentration notwendig. Wir fanden dort einen nicht gerade kostengünstigen Platz im ausgewiesenen hinteren Bereich für das Hotel Best Western. Mit dem Fahrstuhl ging es in den 1. Stock zur Rezeption. Die freundliche Mitarbeiterin erklärte alles Wichtige. Wir erhielten ein Zimmer im 3. Stockwerk. Das große Zimmer mit Blick zur Straße machte mit dem ausgelegten Teppichboden einen sauberen Eindruck. Am großen Tisch befand sich ein Sessel und 1 Stuhl. Kaffee- und Teezubereitungsmöglichkeit war vorhanden. Der in die Wand integrierte Kleiderschrank war gewöhnungsbedürftig, aber zweckmäßig. Darin befand sich ein Safe. Ein gab ein großes modernes TV-Gerät. Das kostenlose WLAN funktionierte immer einwandfrei. In den beiden Betten haben wir gut geschlafen, auch wenn der morgendliche Straßenverkehr zu hören war. Die gute Verdunkelung half da auch nicht viel. Das Fenster ließ sich öffnen, es gab einen Heizkörper. Im Badezimmer, ausgelegt mit Fliesen, gab es eine schöne Duschecke, jedoch kein Heizkörper. Das Frühstück in Büfettform angeboten, war auf kleinem Raum angerichtet, Rührei und Zugehöriges wurde angeboten. Hat uns zufrieden gestellt für einen guten Start in den Tag. Die nahe gelegene schöne Altstadt der Stadt ist fußläufig zu erreichen. Dort ist unter anderem zu sehen der Wetzlarer Dom und das „Rosengärtchen“. Insgesamt vergeben wir ein sehr gut.

I booked the hotel as an interim stay. The price of the stay was cheap and the rooms are air-conditioned, which is an important feature of the summer. My room 233 was in the ”culture” of the hotel and was very quiet. It worked freshly renovated with floors in wooden optics, new furniture and comfortable beds. The bathroom was a little overlooking is basically still the equipment of the opening in the 1970s. I have slept excellently. Great praise goes to the staff at the reception who were really very friendly and helpful. And here again my sympathy to the receptionist at departure that it is for a nominal mention There is no small bonus from the hotel's sides in an assessment (I write the review on their express wish). A shortcut: unfortunately there is no option to eat in the hotel at night. The bar has opened, the drinks are tasteful. Unfortunately, you do not offer snacks like flame cakes, pizza or salad.

Never stayed at a b&b group hotel before and the room in this brand new hotel was nice; compact but nothing missing. We even got a lovely view over the river. Arrived before the hordes of contractor vans so parking was easy and free, think if you show up at six mon-thu you’d struggle to get a space. However, the notable thing was the stupid Checkin system. Booked via their website and did everything asked, paid, registered, the lot. It said it would then email us Checkin details. Which, by the time we arrived at 3pm to the hotel, hadn’t arrived. The nice girl on reception checked us in (again) and asked us to pay (again). I took a bit of an exception to this, having already pre-paid for the stay directly with b&b. Manager appears, presses buttons on his computer for a bit and tells me we will have to pay again then they can refund us once they’ve worked out how their systems worked. I politely declined his offer, reasoning that I’d no confidence in getting my money back if they’d screwed up the first payment. Eventually, maybe because I dug my heels in like a mule, we got the room and didn’t have to pay again. Clearly some issue between training and their systems, but for a first time visit, it didn’t entice me to book again, which I haven’t - I would try again as the room was ok and the price good.

Wonderful rooms. Quiet, clean, and comfortable. Bed was great as was the selection of pillows. Great shower. The staff was friendly and professional. So why did I rate it average? This hotel is a fair distance from restaurants. If you don’t have a car(which we didn’t) the only choice is the hotel restaurant. Here is my big complaint: both nights of our stay the hotel bar and restaurant were not available for guests. They had booked private parties. Since there is no room service, the first night we had to find a taxi. The second night we found the situation too late and just did without. We were never informed of the situation when we booked the rooms. This is inexcusable, the first time I’ve encountered this inconvenience. Had we known, we probably would have stayed elsewhere. Beware!

Been here for a couple of weeks for work. At first the hotel seemed fine and the breakfast was nice. However, the rooms were so warm a night you needed to open the windows, you couldn't because constantly were people standing outside talking loud and smoking. So you couldn't open the window for fresh air. Not a hotel for rest but rather for work which was reflected by all the handyman checked in. Would not recommend.
