Aircon in one room not working and leaking badly in the other. Wasp in the gazebo. Dead crickets in the pots and cutlery was dirty. The place and arrangements was not as promised. Overall I was very disappointed after paying a huge price to book so many rooms.

Nice welcome in that big wine farm not far from Wellington. The rooms have been renovated in a way that the initial style is kept. Due to the structure of the rooms and vegetal roof the room stay fresh during the day. We did not need to start the aircon. The swimming pool is quite big.Breakfast is good. The restaurant nearby is managed by very nice people, good food, nice venue.

Even though Margaret tried her best to make us feel comfortable, the owner’s wife was plain rude. Apart from not greeting anyone, she refused to make fried eggs instead of scrambled because there were “10” guests. The facilities are definitely not 4 stars, the buildings and grounds are run down and needs serious maintenance. The restaurant was also not open in the evenings over a long weekend.

We hebben met ons gezin twee nachten geslapen in een familiekamer in de eerste week van januari 2024. Ondanks dat onze kamer geen airconditioning had, was de temperatuur 's nachts prima en sliepen we dankzij de goede bedden en het heerlijke linnengoed heerlijk. De kamer kun je overdag heel goed door laten luchten door de grote deuren aan de achterzijde. Iedereen die er werkt is zeer gastvrij en voorkomend. Er is tijd voor een gezellig praatje, er is een Duitse gastvrouw, maar de eigenaar en zijn vrouw zijn ook vrijwel altijd aanwezig. Het bijbehorende restaurant is erg goed, je kunt er prachtig dineren met zicht op de tuin. Het zwembad is klein, maar heerlijk en er zijn lieve honden die zich niet opdringen.

It is always a pleasure staying at Oude Wellington. Margaret is extremely helpful and friendly. So is Nita and the other staff. I love the beautiful old house and finishes. It makes me think of the old Cape Dutch home I grew up in.

Place is nicely located near Wellington. Generally clean and staff very friendly. Was disappointing though that despite place being very quiet (many empty rooms as it was mid week in winter) I was still placed in a unit that had no backup power despite having load shedding 6am to 8am each morning. Getting ready for work in pitch darkness in winter is less than ideal, especially when the rest of the place has power from the backup generator. Dont think it would've been to much to ask to be moved to one of the rooms that has power in load shedding, or at least a battery powered light in the room, only costs like R100...

The description and images of the venue do not correspond with the state the property is in now - sadly, the pandemic seems to have had an impact. The restaurant was closed, there were no spa services and the animals were specks in the distance. It is also disingenuous to state that this is a 4-star property - but when you get there, you are told that the cottages are not part of the 4-star rating. I doubt the entire property is more than a 3-star rated property now anyway. I'm sure their 4-star rating is out of date - yet their prices are still '4-star'. The situation is beautiful, but that is all. Stay somewhere else, it's not worth the money.

We loved the setting and the charm of the old buildings. Would have enjoyed to be able to use the pool. The breakfast on the main porch overlooking the alpacas in their paddock is unique. We wanted to dine at the onsite restaurant but unfortunately no one warned us about a wedding that weekend thus it was closed for other guests. I also wanted to book a massage but the lady did not seem very friendly so I opted not to ask:)

Was very nice and clean. Breakfast was delicious. We were there aftwr a wedding. The manager and everybody was very friendly. Views are beautiful. Gardens and grass well look after. Thank you ones again
