Really sad to write this review, but do to lack of response from the owner, it's only fair to others that I give my review of our recent visit to Dormy House restaurant. This is the email I sent the owner Steve and he promised to get back to me the following day. Despite trying to contact him again and getting no response, which is a shame: Good afternoon I have been considering sending this email for a few weeks. It's only because we have had such fantastic experiences in the past that I feel I should email. The date was Thursday 1st August. We booked for a party of 12 which were my immediate family of 7 plus 5 more. We have been coming to the Dormy for over 5 years, many times each year as we stay at Woodhill campsite. Most of us work in school as teachers so we have all our holidays in Cromer using our touring caravans. Our family raves about your place, how welcoming it is and how fabulous your staff are and how lovely your food is. It's our "go to" restaurant in Cromer. Our experience of the Dormy on the 1st of August was not recognisable to past experiences and I was very, very disappointed and embarrassed for the extended family members, they were invited on said occasion. We arrived to the Dormy with 2 people working behind the bar. No idea of names. The lady behind the bar was very disinterested in taking our order to the point of being rude, she gave the impression that she was not happy in her job and was fed up. She was not welcoming neither particularly pleasant. When we spoke to the gentleman behind the bar and asked if we could order baguettes even though the window of time had passed for ordering baguettes, he replied, yes that's not a problem, the chef will still make baguettes. Which was excellent news, however 10 minutes later when we decided as a family which baguette we wanted he then said , sorry chef will not make baguettes you need to order something else. I asked why did you say we could have baguettes only to say no now? He replied , hang on, let me check again. He came back from the kitchen saying yes its ok , you can have baguettes. When it came to the baguettes being served which took over 45 minutes !!! The food was presented very poorly. It was obvious the chef was perturbed and had simply slung the food into the baguettes with very little love or skill. There was no salad with the rolls and the beef was very thickly cut and tough. The chips were actually ok though. Other family members had the roast dinner and this was just as bad. We went to collect out roast dinner and we had to wait about 8 minutes for the chef to appear,I asked him if we could have some sausages and he replied without any apology that you can't have any sausages because they have all gone. The veg was all slopped into one area and looked a right mess. There was no gravy and when we eventually got the chef to come out and we asked for gravy, he clearly looked annoyed and went off for another 5 mins before returning with gravy. Lastly one of fa
