I made reservations for a non-smoking/jetted tub room, upon entering the room..it reeked of smoke. I went back to reception, who said
“I can’t give you a refund, you already paid”
“You can open a window & let it air out”
I told her, I just want a refund so I can go somewhere else. She responded “I can send you to the hotel across the street and you can stay for free there”. Then after more run around games, she came up with the idea of giving another persons reserved room to us and they can have the smoky room! She said “I can open the window & maybe when they get here, it won’t be as bad. I did spell something in there earlier, but some people don’t notice as much as others”.
Switched rooms, it certainly didn’t have a cleanly feeling. The ceiling was con-caved, uneven, & bowed. It certainly doesn’t appear up to code & should be inspected. The wall had cracks down the sides of the widows, which made the outside noise come in much louder. When my husband asked where he could find an ice machine, receptionist said “basement”. Underneath the ice machine, lied dirty towels. When he asked if they had a vending machine, she pointed him in the directions of a cigar box with candy bars in it. Stating “you’re lucky, I just refilled this yesterday”. A whole 3 candy bars almost cleaned out her supply. Upon opening a container of yogurt at breakfast, there was liquid on the surface, after stirring it up, it became more curded with each stir, it was clearly spoiled. We ate elsewhere.
