My husband and I went for Sunday lunch. Lovely food, not just a standard roast - it was delicious! Really attentive and friendly staff. Would recommend to friend and family. Lots of seating and nice atmosphere in the restaurant. Kelvin served us today :)

Absolutely fantastic! Staff were very helpful and knowledgeable, in particular Sotty and Jessamie. Atmosphere is great especially for the football. Would bring the kids here! Nothing was too much trouble for them, always went above and beyond

We went for lunch, couldn't fault it! The food was really good and the service was great. The young lady that looked after us was so helpful and a really bubbly. Although it was busy we were served straight away. Thank you Beck, we will be back 😊

I came to the pub for a roast today and was served by the loveliest lady called Karen. She couldn’t have provided a better service, super attentive and nothing was too much trouble. Great parking options around here too! The pub had a great summer vibe with loads of outdoor seating options. The food was super tasty and I can’t wait to come back to try out the main menu ( hopefully with Karen as our waitress again!)

The staff at Hand & Spear could not have been more helpful when it came to helping us organise a birthday dinner. Even though we changed the numbers, one of those on the day (!), they were so accommodating and the food was absolutely delicious. Thank you so much.

Had a lovely couple of days. Room ok, bit on the small side but adequate for 2 days. Had Sunday lunch which was ok, think we were a bit late so maybe not as fresh as earlier in the day. Breakfast very good. Everyone who works there very friendly and good service.

A very good experience, nice clean room with plenty of luxury amenities such as a very well stocked mini bar and great coffee machine. The bedding is crisp and new and the pillows are great. But above all, the staff were all, without exception, incredibly friendly and helpful which led to a good experience. Special thanks to the Manager of the hotel who helped us. I highly recommend this hotel.

We were given the key to check into our room, only to find the maid there, flustered. She asked us to return in 20 minutes. Once we checked in, the room looked great but it smelled damp. The smell pervaded. The basin in the bathroom was blocked. The light over the shower flashed; then eventually failed: each time we turned on the bathroom light. The duvet and pillows were so lumpy we were both awake most of the night. Dinner was delicious but we weren't asked if we wanted dessert. When we asked, we were told the kitchen was closed. It took so long for our breakfast to be served the following morning that we had to wrap half of it in a napkin as we had to catch a train. The staff were lovely but the overall, expensive experience was very disappointing. I had booked this for a very special birthday.
