Hotels near Emmastad Seventh Day Adventist Church, Willemstad

I stayed here for 15 nights in Jan/Feb 2022. The price was brilliant – about £34 per night in peak season. The reception is on the first floor (UK floor terminology, or 2nd floor for US!) via lift. My room was on the 3rd floor which apparently was recently refurbished. The accommodation is basic. There is no wardrobe – there are 8 coat hangers, a suitcase stand, a room safe, a drawer, two bedside cubby holes, a double bed, good air conditioning and a flat screen TV (with UK, US and Dutch channels). The floors are tiled. The bathroom had only cold water (no problem for a 30C climate), a bath but no plug, a good shower, a sink (but no plug) and soap and shampoo replaced daily. Towels were also replaced daily. Free breakfast was discontinued (maybe due to Covid) but there was coffee every morning in reception. The local McDonalds provided a very cheap breakfast solution. Wifi in the hotel is brilliant and protected. So, it is a very basic accommodation, but if you are someone who doesn’t want a Jacuzzi and a private beach and is in Curacao to explore and discover this amazing island rather than wallow in luxury, then it is a very cost-effective and satisfactory accommodation – and a 15-night stay went brilliantly. And the location is right in the middle of Punda, Willemstad!

I'll apologize for taking so long to write this review but I need to do it. We absolutely loved our trip to Curacao and especially our stay at the BijBlauw Hotel. The staff was fantastic and the rooms have so much character. I told Ed that the date of our next trip back to Curacao would depend entirely on the availability of the Seaside Rendezvous room ! The fabulous food and drink always served with a smile while you enjoy the ocean views. The location is great , lots of attractions within walking distance and probably the friendliest island we've ever been to . Thanks to Titia , Ruud , Ed and all the staff for making our stay so memorable , we're coming back either late November or January as soon as we figure out our fall work schedules . We spend 1 week at the Rif at mangrove beach and it was awsome :) the food was delicious with too many varieties. We loved to spend time at the mangrove side. The aquapark was a great activitie for adults and children. At last we would like to mention the names which were super; Yasin, Ebubekir & Merve.

I rarely comment on hotels. I really have to say this time. First of all, we arrived at the hotel at 2:30 in the afternoon. We have n’t checked in yet. We waited until 4 o'clock! The efficiency is too slow. The second is that the alarm bell sounded at 5 o'clock in the morning on the second day of the check-in. At that time, I was sleeping soundly, and was suddenly awakened by fright. Then it sounded again at more than 6 o'clock, and then again at noon. , People are really going crazy! Then there was no explanation! Hey, this stay is terrible

My BFF and I have been to Curaçao 4 times now. The last three times we rent an apartment at Blue Bay. It’s gated, safe, beautiful, and all the staff we’ve ever come into contact with are friendly and helpful. This past vacation- just last week- my flight was cancelled and in order to get home I had to extend my stay by 2 nights. I quickly googled for hotels in Curaçao and almost at the top of the listings was Bayside Boutique Hotel. I booked immediately even though I’d never been there but as it was on the same property with which I was already familiar I was very confident I’d be ok. I was now going to be staying alone- and even though I find Curaçao super safe (I’ve lived on islands with serious crime rates) you know, single woman, alone. I wanted to not worry. And did I not worry. Staff was helpful and accommodating. From helping reprogram my TV (because I’m a spaz and of course hit countless wrong buttons) to arranging for taxis - to yet another Covid test as well as the airport. (and on that note, they arranged for the driver to not only wait while I got my test but he let me run into the grocery store and did not charge me extra. Taxis are not cheap but the driver was great and I tipped him accordingly for his kindness)The room was spotless, beautifully appointed, lovely amenities, comfortable bed. The property is gorgeous and really, I can’t say enough good things about this place. The only thing I will give fair warning in is - old building=lots of stairs. So when your luggage is like mine and is twice my weight just be prepared!!! Or ask for help. Which they will!!! I absolutely loved it here and will look into booking this for our next visit.

Great place to disconnect from the day to day and feel a vacation atmosphere.

We enjoyed our stay at Papagayo Beach Hotel in Curaçao. After arrival, the room did not be all our desires, but we received a upgrade from Landiz de Lima and then had a beautiful room with beautiful views. The location is also very beautiful. The service was top and the staff has helped us very well, especially the girls behind the bar that helped us when arrived to lift the bags up and baby bed. All with a nice stay! ”
