Palapa Beach Resort Curacao

Unit 21 first night okay, second we had roach visitor's coming out of the sofa and on the bedside lampshade. Fridge stopped working all of our food was ruined ($229 worth, Austin said she would refund, still waiting). Hair in shower, popcorn on floor (we didn't eat popcorn. Austin wrote a poor review regarding us on Airbnb because we complained about the roaches, the fridge, the hair and the popcorn. Phone time with my husband she said was 30 minutes for a turn by turn to get to the condo, not true, once she told us the name of the resort we went right to the condo. Also the pictures are very deceiving, the is a barge looking out of the patio door that you don't see in the pictures for Unit #21. I would not recommed this place. Austin was very rude to my husband, she would say one thing and not follow through. Also keep an eye on the electricity that you use!!!!

My family of 13 rented (4) villas. We had (3) 3 bedroom villas and (1) 2 bedroom villa. We had (2) third floor, (1) second floor and (1) first floor unit. Our comments: The Good 1. Beautiful views of the harbor and ocean. 2. Spacious. Well equipped kitchen. The 3 bedroom villas were bigger than our house. 3. Each of the 6 grandchildren (ages 12 thru 20) had their own bedroom and bathroom. This was wonderful for all parties. 4. There is a full time guard at the entrance to the facility. 5. Each villa had its own numbered parking space. 6. Great location close to Yan Thiel and Mambo beach. 7. There is an excellent sea excursion outfit a short walk across the bay. We took a snorkeling tour. 8. Beach and snorkeling area at the facility. The Bad 1. The top (third floor) villas have no ceiling insulation. The heat from the sun beats down on the tile roof resulting in the air conditioning units running continuously and struggling to keep us cool. 2. The ability to communicate with the facility was difficult. The unmarked office is in a first floor villa. Communication between booking and arrival was intermittent. We weren't sure that we still had a reservation. 3. The facility was a bit shop worn around the edges. All considered, we would return for another vacation. We had a great time.

This resort is good for families. There are two good restaurants in walking distance. Our fridge and microwave did not work. Knock on the contact door for assistance, and no one came to help. No phone number to call at the premises, only the wifi information. Also, the resort is not close to downtown. I sent an email on Saturday and still have not heard from the resort contact. Unit 21

We stayed in Palapa 21, which has a beautiful beachfront location. Steps from the door is the pool with gorgeous views of the bay. The condo is very well appointed, with two bedrooms, one with a king and the second with two double beds. Each bedroom has its own three piece bathroom. There is also a powder room off of the dining/living room. The kitchen has everything you will need, including a blender to make your island cocktails and a dishwasher to clean up after. There are folding chairs and a beach chair, as well as a cooler to pack for your beach days. If you have children, there are sand toys and two Kickboards. There are plenty of bath/beach towels, but no wash cloths, and only two hand towels for all three bathrooms, so I used a beach towel in the third. There are only two dish towels, and one dish cloth as well, but there is a washing machine and a drying rack so you can launder yourself during your stay. There are two waterfront restaurants/bars within a very short walk. The unit has A/C in both bedrooms and the main living area, but we used it in the master bedroom only, as we didn't need the second bedroom and we enjoyed opening the sliding glass doors completely while we were home, to enjoy the warm breeze and the sound of the waves crashing against the shore. I highly recommend this unit.

We had a two bedroom unite, with a very well stocked kitchen. Two big bathroom and one powder room our view wasn’t great as we looked at the next building beside us. The beach was very rough and small we never used it. The swimming pool also small and when we checked in was not very clean. We never used it either. I felt very safe there and was close to two very good restaurants. Staying here you would need to rent a car to get to beaches. I would gladly rent here again

We liked the location very much. It's close to water, to Caracasbaai beach, scuba diving (Curious 2 Dive), and wind surfing/paddle boarding. The apartment itself was great as well, plenty of space, very clean and comfortable.

We recently visited magical Curacao, over Christmas, and after numerous other visits to the island, we decided to opt for a different experience and to be located in a different area of the island, and we were extremely pleased with every aspect of our stay! We booked directly with the resort and communicated via Whatsapp with the office staff and the communication was great! We arrived late at night and the security guard had our key and info as far as various aspects of the unit that we were assigned to. It was on the 2nd floor, beachfront ( well worth it!! ) and contained two spacious bedrooms, each with balconies, along with two and one half baths, a complete and fully stocked kitchen, with anything needed to prepare meals if you so desired, and included a dishwasher, stove top, oven, microwave, and a full-sized refrigerator. There was also a washing machine, which really was wonderful with wet beach towels and clothing. No dryer, but a drying rack that was large and we would lay out our wet laundry and in the sun, it dried quickly in the sun on the balcony. We did not have housekeeping while there, so we did have to wash our towels, etc., which was no problem. They do have an option for it at an additional cost if wanted. There was a large den and dining area, along with a very nice large balcony with table and chairs, plus a sofa and chairs for relaxing! The beach is literally a matter of feet away from the property ( and directly below the balcony) and the snorkeling right there is incredible with very easy access into the water! The property is located on a peninsula so it is very private and there is a security gate with guards on duty 24/7 who screen people coming and going. The accommodations very spotlessly clean and the staff was wonderful! We never even used the pool, but it seemed nice. There were plenty of restaurants nearby, as well as stores for groceries and other supplies, and it is only a short distance to downtown. Wifi was also very good and free. For anyone looking for a wonderful place that provides total relaxation and to get away from the usual crowded resorts, I would highly recommend this property! We would definitely consider staying again on our next visit to the island!

The staff is verry good in service and de sucrity is top. The appartment was clean en good. The swimmingpool was nice and it is a relaxe place te be on vacation. Only the entrance and street near this resort is terribel.
