Hampton Inn Wilmington Downtown

I will most definitely be back. This hotel and its location are terrific!

We always pick places with pools so that the kids can wind down at the end of the night, especially after being in the car for long periods of time. Pool was closed. The site says parking available but we were directed to use the valet service, the city parking garage, or on street metered parking. The location itself was nice, near a lot of shops and cafes.

Computer issues at check in and a credit card charge I didn't authorized that was hopefully resolved. Overall a typical hotel stay that was decent and was good enough.

I was looking for a dog friendly hotel in the historic downtown district of Wilmington, NC. I was attending a conference at the Hotel Ballast on the river BUT they would not accommodate my dog. So I stayed up the hill at the Hampton and walked down every morning to attend classes. When I arrived at the Hampton, I was greeted by Lawrence who was guiding folks through the valet process. The hotel offers valet service for parking or you can simply park next door at a parking garage. Lawrence was personable, professional, polite and an overall delight as he conducted business. The hotel is located next to the old historic district. It is very clean and very quiet. I needed certain information and certain items from the front desk and I have to give a shout out to Mitch, John and James who were simply phenomenal representatives for the Hampton. Again, each of these gentlemen went above and beyond to supply me with answers to my inquiries in a most courteous and helpful manner; it did not matter whether I was talking with Mitch at 5:30 a.m., John at 10:00 a.m. or James at 10 p.m. I really enjoyed the coffee and breakfast selections offered in the mornings. The room was spacious, had a fridge, great shower, really comfortable bed, great shades for complete darkness. I felt safe and secure at the hotel even though I was traveling solo with my dog. All my requests were met with complete satisfaction.

Construction around hotel was messy. Poor entry to front of hotel. Man at desk was not welcoming. Was not dressed professionally. We tried to cancel, we could not. ONLY valet parking for $30 but that service was great. Girl later at night was very sweet and welcoming! Our room and breakfast was great!! Just poor beginning!!!

Housekeeping was amazing. Ms. Gena would drop everything to assist. She was wonderful. The hotel location was perfect. I would definitely stay here again.

Hotel was in good location. Valet and parking is challenge with no circle driveway for check-in. The pantry was basically empty so a bit disappointing.

Friendly staff, convenient central location

Around 3pm the downstairs coffee pots had cold coffee I reported to the front desk. Michael love the kitchen supervisor happened to hear. Even though he was off duty he ensured I had a cup of hot coffee for my sister and myself. Outstanding customer care on his part. The front desk has to pay attention to 24 table. This should not have occured
