Windermere Hotel Reviews

The hotel is an old and classic one. The reception is a bit small but with good services. Tidy rooms and good view of the town (photo attached).

wonderful hotel near railway station

The room is quite old but not bad just some problems. The shower water is not hot enough, the toilet button is hard to flush. Good location close to station

The location is very convenient. It is within a five-minute walk from the railway station. Except for the small elevator, the hotel is very good.

Train is cancelled, and the train is off the track. no train will depart from Edinburgh to Windmere. Trip.com refused to cancel the booking fee. Complaint!

The hotel is in a great location for exploring the Windemere and Bowness area. The facilities were excellent we particularly enjoyed the power shower in the morning and after a long walk in the country, just what we needed to get us refreshed and ready to go again. The bed was also very comfortable meaning we got a solid nights sleep. The breakfast was fantastic, well cooked and plenty of it, the coffee was also very good. The staff were very helpful and pleasant, nothing was too much trouble for them. This was our second stay at The Windermere Hotel and we requested the same room with the same fantastic view, which they were able to accommodate . We will definitely be back.

Hotel overall was lovely, staff was lovely, rooms could do with a bit of updating and room was quiet damp of mould in certain places, sink took a little time to empty, shower was lovely, a throw away from the train station and about 15 min walk to Windermere lake

This hotel has a great location, and you can get to the town centre by walk. It is suitable for family stays as well.

Great location very near train station except it’s on a hill, challenging to push our big luggage up the hotel. Plus our room was at the extension building which didn’t have lift access. Fortunately the staff was helpful and carried our luggage for us.

There was no train to Windermere that day because the train was cancelled, so I sought a refund on the basis of force majeure. The hotel initially asked me for a ticket to prove that I couldn't make it. But when I offered the ticket, I refused on the grounds that the ticket was not real-name. But train tickets in Britain were not originally real-name. I respect your policies, but if you ask me about service, I'm sorry, I'm not satisfied. Perhaps this is Britain.

The bathroom was not clean you can see on the pictures it was not cleaned and mouldy And the bread toaster was not working well one side of bread was burnt you can see on the picture No cheese on breakfast when I ask them you don’t have cheese for your breakfast they said in uk none of hotels have cheese I was shocked The hotel receptions was from Spain she said in Spain we have cheese in our hotels not in uk I was disappointed this was first time in all my life I hear that(HOTELS IN UK THEY DO NOT HAVE CHEESE FOR BREAKFAST EVERYONE REMEMBER THAT) I will near go back to this hotel treating with us like a never been to the hotel in our life 😞😮

Service was excellent. You get what you pay for in terms of room. Had potential to be a lovely hotel just needs a little updating.
