Whale House Guest House

We choose the whale house inn as a getaway as a new mom and dad. We had the humpback room. Which to our surprise there was no sitting area other than the bed and no tv. We find that quite odd as that’s pretty standard in all rooms. The room was quite tiny for the price. Another issue was that never ever have I stayed somewhere and you could hear your neighbours late at night. Every move they took. A major issue is that the hot tub definitely isn’t being kept clean. When we got in the tub we noticed that the water felt slimy. Which me think maybe that’s the chemicals they use. We continued in it for 10 mins and got out. Then.. i developed a rash that is known as hot tub folliculitis. Which left pimple like bumbs over my torso. I did bring this to the whale house inn’s attention they offered a free stay. I did refuse because of the cleanliness. I did ask for some type of refund not necessarily 100% but then they ignored my email.

We had a nice time. The bed was comfortable, and suite was very clean. Host is responsive and gives thorough instructions for how to find the place, manage check-in, and hot tub. A private hot tub to sit under the stars, even when it’s cold out, is awesome.

The guy that works there was amazing but inside the bugs carpenters everywhere and I had door shut from the jacuzzi so wake up to ants crawling over me and went get shower four carpenters in there.just spray the place inside out home defense and I never complain

Very beautiful spot with the most comfortable bed. Our evening was spent barbecuing and in the hot tub which created the perfect atmosphere and was exactly what we were looking for. Waking up to the most beautiful sunset was unexpected but once you realize the bed is facing east, it really shows how much thought and care was put into the layout and design.

My wife and I had an early fall one night stay at this beautiful facility. The place was as advertised and the service was great. It's a great place to enjoy the fall weather on the Southern Shore of Newfoundland and it's right next to many amenities such as the East Coast Trail and great food options including being a short walk from a fantastic fine dining restaurant the Fork. Service was flexible and helpful with the few requests we made. Overall, a very nice experience in a great location.

The space is beautifully designed, blue whale room has ample space and two decks. We ate at the Fork, gourmet food just 150 metre walk away. Hot tub in the sun before dinner and after, under the stars. East coast trail walk after breakfast. A perfect get away! Half an hour from town.

I couldn’t have asked for a nicer evening and morning view. The room was beautiful and so comfortable.

Room was quite cute and clean Hot tub was great Area around the room very sweet Walls are paper thin, could here people walking around above us much earlier than we wanted to be woken Was hoping for quiet evening of relaxation and tv but only small I pad to view with very small screen Had everything to make coffee except something to whiten it with. When I asked about whitner I was told to go to a close by store. Advertising indicates coffee available so I didn’t expect to have to go out to buy milk. Rules signs everywhere. Was asked to save water by having only a 5 minute shower but it took more than that to get it hot Two chairs provided by they were wooden and not to comfortable Would have been great for someone younger than I Overall a sweet room with a comfortable bed but a little overpriced

What a wonderful place to stay. We stayed at the Right Whale suite which is basically one room with everything you need. We could cook a meal inside or use the BBQ provided outside. The bed was so comfortable. The grounds have a tiny hobby farm with ducks roaming around, wild birds and beautiful landscaping. Follow the trail from your door right to the east cost trail where the views are amazing. Pick berries as you go for a snack. We will definitely return but maybe in the early summer for some whale watching.
