Woking Hotels with Gym

Terrible stay, we booked for 3 nights in a family room for 2 adults, 2 children. When we arrived we checked in with 3 other families complaining about rooms not being ready and having no towels. I then checked in and asked if my room would be correct being a family room also, the staff member assured me it would be. As I got into my room I was greeted by a double bed that was made and that is all! There was a sofa but no bedding. There was no room phone so had to go back to reception to report we had no beds for the children to sleep in. Someone then came up to source an additional bed and make both the sofa bed and extra bed up. We then went into the bathroom and noticed the plug in the sink closed and it would not open so the water could not drain. Another trip down to the reception to report this and the lack of towels (we were given 1 between 4 of us). Someone came up to the room with a hammer and screwdriver and had to ‘tap’ to open the plug, we were then advised not to use it as it will stick again. Whilst reporting that issue I was advised by other people staying that there was no hot water, no staff mentioned this when we checked in. After asking about it they agreed this was the case and that they had reported it. The room was very small and was also an interconnecting room but the sofa bed and pull out bed had nowhere to go other than in front of the door. This meant the children were sleeping with their heads right next to the door. The people in the room adjoining ours were very noisy and kept the constant awake at night numerous times throughout the stay. We were without hot water for over 36 hours and offered zero compensation in any form, this is not acceptable!

The Travelodge in Woking is well placed ad easy to find. The facilities were good, and the room was clean and tidy. We had breakfast and enjoyed it though the fruit we normally eat had not been delivered. The manager kindly gave us reduction for this omission. We hope to use Travelodge again our our next outing.

We had a lovely two night stay in this Premier Inn, an ideal place for us to meet up with friends. The setting alongside the Basingstoke canal was very pretty and added to the overall calm and peaceful atmosphere. There were a large number of contractors staying, who left early in their vans but this was not a problem. The room was large, clean and comfortable as expected but, being at the end of the main corridor, alongside our friends, it was ideal for a quiet night's sleep. We ate on site one evening meal and both breakfasts and everything was lovely. Freshly prepared food, hot, tasty and plentiful. All the staff were lovely, friendly and helpful, reception, housekeeping and waiting. A special shout out for the bar person and breakfast servers (Lisa) who went above and beyond. If we return to the area we wouldn't stay anywhere else.

My wife and I stayed here for a night after attending a family wedding. As we arrived early the woman on reception let us leave bags there as our room wasn’t ready, this was helpful and appreciated. The staff in the bar and restaurant during the day and at breakfast were all friendly enough and pleasant. Our room was good, nice and clean and a very comfortable bed. Breakfast in the morning was excellent, the selection was good and all seemed good quality. I would have given a higher rating but there were a few things that irked us… The biggest issue was coming back from a two mile run and not being able to shower as no water, when I called reception I was told it was because too many people were using the water all at once and to wait 20 mins and try again! I’ve stayed in many hotels and never experienced issues with no water in the morning if people are getting ready at the same time. The second issue was the cost of the electric chargers. £12.50 an hour?! That’s just hugely exorbitant and would have meant I’d need to spend over £40 to charge my hybrid, compared to most other public charging points that is way over the odds. Fortunately my car is hybrid so we just had to use petrol to drive home. I can’t see any justification for such a high cost. Finally the £10 a night parking charge even for residents seems high and unusual. Surely for residents staying this should be waived? Fortunately as I’d not been able to shower I persuaded the receptionist to drop the parking charge. I think in light of the issues I’d probably not rush back, but would reiterate that the room and food was ok.
