Stayed at hotel, part of Shearings Black Forest Tour. Had single room, as did my daughter, no balcony, but room good, comfy pillows and bed, housekeeping every day, shower pressure great, room opposite bell tower, no problem with bells chiming, didn't notice it. Breakfast good, continental, scrambled egg etc. Evening meal, lot to be desired, but that's Shearings and their budget for trip. Hotel staff amazing, from reception, dining room and bar staff, a big thank you for making our stay special. Only downside was Shearings passengers on last night, disgraceful behaviour. I would definitely recommend this hotel, nice bars and restaurants nearby, lovely area and close proximity to town.

The room was small but OK. You should avoid the half board option. Almost all of the staff seem to be employed on a 538 euro basis. Their motivation varies accordingly. The students who cleared away the food did a good job. The cook... well, better not to book half board. The man at the bar tried very hard, but if there are no ice cubes, the selection is limited. Did I already say that it is better not to book half board?
