My family and I stayed in all 5 x rooms for 2 x nights in August 2024 for a wedding nearby. The rooms had beautiful decor and I was very pleased to see an iron & ironing board, hairdryer, hangers, heater and a decent coffee machine & kettle! The beds were comfy and we had plenty of space and storage. I loved the little courtyard area and it was great for taking photos for the wedding next to the lovely lavender bush! We couldn’t hear any noise from the outside area or any of the rooms either side which was a bonus! Although we didn’t eat in the evenings, we all enjoyed breakfast each morning with plenty of choice for adults & children. It was also great to see a range of good coffee & pastries! Finally, the staff were so friendly and made all of us feel very welcome after all of our journeys!

Quite surprised to read the last review. I was coming here to praise all the staff including the managers. I was in Saturday for breakfast with the family, had a lovely experience all round. Food was great, service was great, and what I thought was the manager went out of the way to even make the kids feel relaxed but putting the train on for them. Will be back! Thank you

Came in on Friday to watch euros looked like a friendly pub had been here before all staff kind and lovely. This time however the manager was obviously behind the bar young lady came to help her out as busy just to get shouted at and manager said to friends who were obviously in the pub at time “this is what I have to work with” absolutely disgusted completely unprofessional young girl looked embarrassed and distraught later on saw walk through the bar in tears will not be returning and I hope the young lady decides not to either.

Cosy and comfortable room but no food available if you arrive after 7pm (I arrived at 6:50 and they’d already stopped serving, which is very early for dinner) or if you need to be away at a reasonable hour in the morning, as breakfast doesn’t start until 7:30am.

Stayed here as we were attending a wedding at Oulton hall and this was a short walk away. We could not fault this accommodation it was very comfortable and clean. Breakfast in the morning was great. I would stay here again.

I just wanted to mention that me and two of my colleagues came in earlier in the week (for the first time) for some food as we have recently moved in to a new office in the area and we were all very impressed with the level of good old fashioned customer service that we received from Trish. She really went above and beyond and it was hugely appreciated. We will definitely be visiting again and just wanted to say thank you. Luke
