The Wiltshire Hotel, Golf and Leisure Resort

We loved the stay here. I loved the way staff is treated us and our baby Ram. We are truly thankful for your service and love. We had such a pleasant stay ! Big thank you to Bhushan, Vijay who assisted from the beginning until end of the stay and during the stay thanks to the Kiran and Vinil for their hospitality ! The Wiltshire hasn't gone downhill in the last two years, it's fallen off a cliff. It's always been in need of modernisation, but this stay it felt dilapidated. Holes in carpets, creaking floors, clunky doors and missing paint/wallpaper. But the main problem was the service. The staff were friendly, but the hotel is clearly not being run by professionals who know how to run a hotel. I called up a week before to ensure we had cots in the rooms for our baby and toddler, but they weren't in the rooms when we arrived. It was late so I asked if we could have them ASAP. 15 minutes later and when I went down to check, the staff that I'd asked were just chatting in reception. Breakfast was a joke! No bread, no coffee, no tea, just kids breakfast cereal boxes. We had to order the food specifically... And they didn't even get the order correct. When we wanted to take our kids to the pool (which was the main reason we stayed there) they told us children weren't allowed until 10am (it was 9am). We dug our heels in and eventually we were allowed in. The pool is big, and there was only 1 other person in the pool, who seemed perfectly happy letting a family enjoy the pool. We won't be staying again.

Grounds and area that the hotel are lovely, Hotel itself felt like it was either undergoing renovations or in desperate need of them. My room stunk of cigarette smoke, I won’t be staying again

A pleasant stay, nice pool and clean facilities. The gentleman on reception kindly secured us a room without people staying above us as I had seen in the reviews noise can be a real issue in the hotel. The corridors were extremely loud at night, people loudly coming back from the bar. We were woken a few times. We couldn't get dinner at the hotel. We were advised dinner was being served all afternoon until 8.30pm but when we returned to eat, we were told they couldn't take our order until 6pm. My son was hungry at 5pm so we ordered a takeaway and had it delivered to the hotel from a local place. The breakfast at the hotel was OK. Parking was excellent.

Tired infrastructure, lots of things not working that need attention. Huge potential but seriously needs a kick into the correct decade.

When i arrived reception gave me the wrong room that had other unfortunate guest in when i opened the door. The tv in the room didn't work, the shower was stone cold even after running it for 30 minutes. The pool was freezing, steam room closed for maintenance. They are having a new jacuzzi fitted but unfortunately that was still on a pallet in the car park. I cant comment on the restaurant as that closed early. Definitely a hotel to avoid

Dreadful from start to finish. You get the feeling the owners are looking to sell and in the interim are running it into the ground. Service poor, food poor, no beer at the bar, golf course average, receptionist doubling up as barman for most of the day etc etc. Only one shower and soap dispenser worked in the spa. The shower in my room didn't work at all. The carpets and bed didn't look clean. Everything was threadbare and badly needing updating. Give Fawlty Towers a go before this one!

Excellent service in the restaurant by Kiran, above and beyond always with a cheerful smile! Here for a few days demonstrating at Wiltshire Game & Country Festival at Bowood near Calne. I look forward to checking out the golf, pool and gym tomorrow...

Well, luckily I didn't read the reviews before my trip. I spent 3 days and 2 nights at this hotel and played 3 games of golf. I cannot fault the hotel. Yes, you can see they are tidying up the venue and are serious about it! No disruption to me though. The staff were helpful, welcoming and friendly. The twin room was very clean, linen changed every day and very comfortable. The breakfast provided was very good as were the evening meals. All I can say is that I am going back later in the year! I thoroughly enjoyed my visit. I wish the owners the very best of luck with their business - they deserve it.
