The Cliff Hotel & Spa

This hotel was fantastic. From when we arrived, the staff were friendly and check in was very quick. We ate at The Carreg in the evening, and it was the best food I have had in a long time. The crispy asian beef starter was the best starter I’ve ever had, I would return just for this! The views of the ocean were beautiful too, and we could even see dolphins whilst we were eating. We sat in the bar following our evening meal, and the atmosphere in there was great. Much better than other hotel bars we’ve been to. There was a great selection of cocktails, and the outside fire pits were a great addition too! We were worried that there was a wedding on and we may feel like we were getting in the way, but this was not the case and the wedding felt very separate - except for the firework display which was a fantastic extra to our stay! The breakfast buffet was great too, again views of dolphins in the bay. The food was great, and I especially appreciated the two types of bacon to cater for everyone. We had Sunday lunch and even though this was extremely busy, this was really good and the food was delicious! I would recommend booking though as it was extremely busy. We had a spa morning including a full body hot stone massage. The spa was lovely and relaxing - there are no loungers (other than the hot loungers) so a couple of hours in the spa was long enough we felt. The massage was amazing, and the masseuse took all of my health conditions in to account and made the experience really relaxing. The only downside to our stay was the bedroom. We paid for the economy room so wasn’t expecting anything too special, but the room was very tired looking and the shower wasn’t great. There was also a step down from the bathroom to the bedroom which could be dangerous if you forget about it! The room definitely did not fit in with the rest of the hotel - this did not deter from the rest of the hotel though as we were only in there for a short amount of time; and the bed was very comfortable. We are already planning on coming back at the end of summer; but would spend extra to get the nicer room!

We really loved our stay in an executive room. This is the 3rd time that we've stayed and it's lovely to see that that the hotel is constantly being updated and refurbished. The breakfast was good, and I highly recommend the hot stones massage. The hotel’s location is excellent, we had a lovely walk out along the coastal path and look forward to going back!

Not at all what I expected, small spa area really not worth the money paid and evident work still being carried out whilst open. Contacted the site for a refund as not all facilities available and surprise surprise no one available. Also, changing rooms not as clean as they could be. Definitely would not recommend.

Had a 4 night break to celebrate my husband’s birthday. Had a really relaxing time. All the staff are wonderful to help your stay feel special. Looking forward to a future visit. We were blessed to witness a pod of dolphins in the bay and enjoyed wonderful weather.

Today I went to the spa and had the rock pool package for my birthday. The lady that did my back massage and facial her name was ffion. She was amazing and so friendly .! Best massage iv had in years I was really really pleased she is a credit to them! Food in restaurant was amazing afterwards also! Polite and happy staff. Lovely place!

Everything was excellent. The only comments I would like to make, are that for a prestigious hotel, it is a shame to have PLASTIC disposable glasses in our room. Also an extra safety bar is needed for getting in and out of the over bath shower. No faults otherwise.

This is wonderful hotel with good modern decor. Very comfortable with a great location, the food in the restaurant was excellent and the service very friendly and happy. We enjoyed the spa, it was a very relaxing and enjoy couple of hours. The staff were very pleasant

We have stayed many times before and never had an issue. My parents stayed here for 2 nights to celebrate a milestone anniversary. They had the premium sea view room with balcony. The kettle was black inside and unusable. They arrived on the Sunday and this wasn't replaced until Monday mid morning which meant they were unable to have a hot drink. The coffee machine was left dirty from previous guests so again unusable and had to be replaced. The area where they place the cups and drink sachets was thick of dust. As to was the area by the fridge. My Mum suffers with allergens and asthma so this was not beneficial to her. The gentleman who came with the kettle was shocked to see the state of it and cleaned it immediately and was apologetic. However, the replacement kettle was a cheap white travel one, and not what you expect for this room type. They complained on Monday and was told a manager would look into this. Nothing. We complained again on Tuesday and was assured a manager would look into this and I would receive an email with their response. Nothing. It would seem once your money has been taken they do not care. It's a shame as this lets the property down. The restaurant and bar were fine with helpful , friendly staff and good food. But the cleanliness of the rooms is poor. I do have an issue with the breakfast . You get left with used milk from the previous guests when they leave and tables are cleared. They spray the table with antibacterial spray which goes over the milk and you are left with used milk. Not good or hygienic. I would not have left this review if the management had the decency to do what they say. I have booked another stay next week for me and my partner, and if I could get a refund, I would not be going.

My husband and I were celebrating our 46th wedding anniversary so booked our family of nine in for the Sunday carvery. Where do I start? The venue is absolutely stunning, the food was exceptional, the young man ( who’s name is Owen) who served us was such a lovely person nothing was too much trouble for him and he made us feel cared for, give him a pay rise he deserved it. In fact I have nothing but good things to say about our experience at the Cliff hotel.
