Zao Plaza Hotel Reviews

The inn has a nostalgic Japanese design, and as soon as you step in, you're transported to the atmosphere of the 80s and 90s. The hotel staff were very friendly, especially the servers during meals. The hotel boasts four different hot springs, both indoor and outdoor. The sulfur smell in the hot spring water confirms its authenticity. For dinner, we had sukiyaki with a generous platter of wagyu beef – the portion was very satisfying and the taste was absolutely superb. Overall, highly recommended!

The hotel's location is excellent, and the service is warm and attentive. The sulfur hot spring is a big plus! The owner helped us sort out an issue with sending our snowboard bags directly to the airport, which was incredibly helpful. Breakfast and dinner were well-organized and delicious. Highly recommended!

The rice was absolutely delicious, and I really appreciated the free refills. The service was warm and excellent. It made for a very enjoyable ski trip!

It’s really nice hotel and friendly staff, nice foods and location not far from ski , we can walk to play ski. Onsen really nice have many room private and public. Good time

All staff are polite and could feel the hospitality from them! Dinner are nice with many dishes.

Japanese products are very nice. I hope staff from other countries can maintain the same level of quality in Japan.

Our family stayed here for two nights from January 2nd. As winter sports enthusiasts, we were thrilled that the hotel is located right below the Zao Sky Cable car! The convenience store is a 15-minute walk, but it's a pleasant stroll to pick up essentials. Suigawa Shrine is next to the hotel, but if you enter through the torii gate from the mountain path, you'll be greeted by a lot of stairs, which might be a bit daunting if you look up from the bottom. The open-air hot spring bath, with its natural free-flowing water, and the slightly hotter indoor bath, felt incredibly smooth and soothing on our tired bodies. The meals offered a wide variety of dishes, and the Yamagata rice was absolutely delicious! Even though it's quite a distance from Tokyo, our whole family definitely wants to come back and stay at Zao Plaza Hotel again.

The location, food and services are good. The only downside was that there was no laundry service or coin laundry available.

Very nice hotel and close to the ski area and ski equipment rental. Just like 1 min walk. Hotel also have both internal and external onsen. Daily meals are wonderful too.

excellent service

It is a very great location if you want to ski in Zao Onsen ski field. Literally the hotel is 200 meters away from the ski field base and 100 meters from a few gears rental stores.
