Leonardo Cypria Bay

Not a enjoyable experience. Expensive for the rooms you receive, restaurant staff were friendly but check in staff were not welcoming.

Nice all inclusive deal. Nice services, good lobby area and pool. Not very good gym and wifi internet

Arrived 23rd June for 10 nights, booked premium sea view room. Arrived at about 1.30 pm but room not ready, no problem just went in for lunch and then got checked in. On first impression with room 559 I was not impressed with the view as it seemed more like a side view as there was an adjoining section of the hotel right next to our balcony which mean no sea view from the right hand side. I went to reception and they checked and said it would be the next day, which I accepted. We moved to room 513 at 4.30 and it went very smoothly with the handover of keys and the help of a porter, well done to the wonderful receptionists. The view was much better and I was pleased with the the view which was very similar to several posts I had seen on Trip adviser. Our Room Attender, Symela, was absolutely excellent, such a pleasant lady and extremely good at her job. Tamara the Guest Relations lady was brilliant and sorted out our booking of The Asian Speciality Restaurant which was really nice and a lovely experience, as was the Italian. Buffet Dining experience was pretty good and although a little bit limited in choice it was well presented, cooked and hot enough mostly. I would have liked more choice of fish but having said that there was unidentified fish on a few occasions which was nice, tasted a bit like trout and 1 night a full salmon was there to help yourself. Staff there were pleasant and greeted us in on each occasion. Bar staff were great, especially Bidulp, Theo and Mijaik (??). First gin and tonic of the holiday was lovely and on that first night I had a few drinks of various kinds which tasted good. I was surprised that I felt so well the next morning lol. I did however quickly come to realise that the measures are not that big, some measured but not to the top, other times free flowing (best). If you want to feel like you've had a drink, ask for a double. Cocktails were good and although not branded were very nice, especially, Margarita, Brandy Alexander, Tequila Sunrise to mention a few. Pool area was nice but for us we went on the grass which was a little more chilled. We never had a problem getting sunbeds at any time of the day and struggled to see many with reserved on, so don't worry about that unless you want to be first row at pool. Snack bar was nice and you could actually have hot foot at the Little Italy restaurant near the pool during the day. Entertainment at night was pretty good and on 3 nights excellent but then we like guitarists and singers, especially the reggae and rock nights, met our requirements fine but younger people may not be so happy, so go to the pool bar area which is little bit more lively, especially when Chris Andre was on (who was very talented). All in all a good holiday. I do think the management should consider supplying cushions on sunbeds to make their guests stay on them more pleasant but other than that no much to moan about, so well done Leonardo Plazza! I think we must remember

Lovely clean hotel, fantastic hotel. Lots for families and children to do great entertainment. great range of drinks great service from all staff but would love to give shout out to Katerina at the beach bar who went above and beyond for us for our 10 days, she deserves recognition.

This is not a good place to go with kids!!! Very noisy from morning till night (2.30pm music was very loud at the swimming pool), in lobby area was terrible, very noisy till 1am so we couldn’t sleep night time. Bad food without much variety! It was the worst experience!!! I will never recommend this hotel!!!

This was our first stay at the Leonardo Cypria Bay having previously visited Paphos a number of times. Having seen so many reviews before going I wasn’t sure what to expect but ultimately this hotel is perfect for families with young children and we would go again! We arrived to the hotel at 1am. There was one receptionist working and a number of new arrivals. Whilst check in was smooth I didn’t feel we received a warm welcome due to how busy he was, this was a shame but the following morning the first staff member we saw (Sabina!) more than made up for it, what an asset to the hotel she is! Our room was wonderful! 4th floor, sea view. It was very modern with a large bathroom. We couldn’t have asked for better! The only thing that let the room side of things down was the housekeeping service. The room wasn’t well cleaned and despite us asking multiple times for the bed to be changed (due to a suncream spillage!) it was not changed at all during our stay. We raised this with Stefan in reception who was most apologetic and assured us it would be fed back. One thing I would say is that for our late check out we were moved to another room for the last afternoon. The room was dark, bathroom tiny, broken door, broken shower. We were only in there for a few hours so it didn’t matter but out of interest we asked what room type it was (mainly as we are considering coming again) and were told it was the same room type as we had but was a room that hadn’t yet been refurbed. I must say this is the one thing that makes me hesitant about re-booking. This second room was not 4 star at all and I’d have been very disappointed to have had a room of that standard for a full week. The contrasting quality between the standard rooms is huge. The food was good. The chefs and waiters were attentive and everything was well presented. I cannot fault the choice or quality. They clearly work so hard to provide so much selection and it was very much appreciated! The snack bar was a very good option too and again very clean! The pool and all facilities were fantastic. We never had issues finding sun beds and the pool area was very clean. The lifeguards were brilliant too and very helpful. The entertainment was okay. It was very much aimed for families, which as we travelled with a young child, was fine. Whilst we didn’t enjoy all the shows our daughter did! My daughter also enjoyed attending kids club a few times. I wasn’t as impressed by the club. The quality really varied depending on which staff were there. Jose very much carries the team and is very good. However, when we first went in there were two women working who were just sat on their phones, no interaction with the children at all. There was a clear difference when Jose was there, he seemed to very much up the standards! On the whole the resort was great and we would absolutely return. The hotel is very clean, rooms are cleaned daily…nicely furnished.. Beds are quite comfy and the air con is really good. Bathrobes and slippers for guests.. Had a few issues with toilet cistern not working which I fixed myself and shower slow pressure…but just got on with it. Food is decent, could do with more choices as if you don’t like the nightly theme ( ie Mexican / Asian) then you on kids corner..nuggets,chips and pizza. Drinks are not bad, not enough bar staff but then it was very busy. The pool is lovely ,warm, clean…just not big enough when hotel is full and the weather is so hot, everybody wants to cool off. Pool bar was good and staff very good. There are lots of sun loungers but not too many by the pool area and they are gone by 8am….plenty on the grass areas. Kids mini disco every night 20.15 keeps the kids busy for 30 mins. Show every night by a team of hard working dancers… Reception area of hotel is very nice, evening bar is small and busy.. Luckily they have a great barman called Isco, he’s very good and looks after guests whilst making pleasant conversation. We were trying to book a late check out, but where told to ask on day of departure…but hotel offers a shower room for 45 mins.. We used that option as there were 10 of us so booked 3 slots.. It was a hotel room, better than the one we stayed in.. so that was great.. In all this is a nice 4 star hotel for family’s…
