Grand Mercure Yichang Waitan (Opening November 2023)

This is our second stay at your hotel, and it was absolutely wonderful! A huge thank you to the lovely young lady at the front desk for her warm, friendly, and thoughtful service. She even arranged for us to have a river-view room with a fantastic panorama. Falling asleep to that view at night was incredibly relaxing. The room itself was cozy, tidy, comfortable, and clean. The hotel also has its own underground and above-ground parking. We even received small gifts upon check-in and check-out, which was a very sweet touch. Both the breakfast and the dinner buffet were incredibly rich and diverse. Definitely worth staying – highly recommended!

I checked in on the last day of the May Day holiday, and it was incredibly good value for money. I accidentally sprained my ankle, and the hotel thoughtfully provided a wheelchair free of charge. I really loved the overall decor, and the bed was comfortable. The little card was a nice, thoughtful touch. The hotel is also very close to the riverfront, which has plenty of activities and is a great spot for a stroll. For dinner, I had the Western buffet at the hotel; the steak was very tender, and the coconut plum wine was delicious. The other dishes were decent, and at 158 per person, it was good value. I'll definitely stay here again next time I visit.

This hotel truly has excellent facilities and superb service! 👌 From check-in to check-out, there was always someone available to assist, which made me feel very comfortable and at ease. The room amenities were complete and all very new. The hotel also offers free Wi-Fi and parking, making my trip much more convenient. All in all, it was a very pleasant stay.

Staying here for two nights felt like being wrapped in warmth and thoughtful care. Traveling with my 12-year-old child, I was pleasantly surprised that they received a complimentary breakfast, a small but significant detail that truly touched me. We arrived late at night, expecting a rushed check-in, but instead, a friendly bellboy gently guided us, and the front desk staff, with warm smiles, dispelled the fatigue of our long journey. Our newly built room was fully equipped with smart devices, and all our daily needs were meticulously taken care of. It truly felt as comfortable and relaxing as being at home. The complimentary drinks on the table were a delightful surprise, and whenever I called with a question, the response was prompt, efficient, and incredibly helpful. The most memorable part was the comfortable bed and pillows; the mattress had just the right amount of softness, feeling as familiar and secure as my own bed at home. I slept soundly, and all the travel fatigue melted away. In the hustle and bustle of life, all one truly seeks is a peaceful sanctuary, and the kindness and thoroughness here were the most precious gifts of our trip.

Beyond my expectations, this hotel was truly comfortable. The river view room had a large balcony! So relaxing!

The room rate didn't match what was advertised, and the 128 RMB for breakfast was an absolute rip-off! It was even worse than the free breakfast at the Atour Hotel next door. This small local business really epitomizes 'milking tourists dry during peak season.' I recommend staying at the Atour Hotel next door instead, so you don't get scammed by this 'fake five-star' place.

Booked an executive king room and got a free upgrade to a suite. The hotel lobby had a subtle, pleasant scent, and the parking lot was spacious. The hotel was very clean and quiet, excellent 👍🏿. Right across the street is the riverside promenade, perfect for a walk. I'll definitely stay here again next time I'm in Yichang.

The front desk service was excellent, and the facilities were great. The front desk staff, Xiao Wen, Xiao Rong, Xiao Tian, Xiao Wang, and Xiao Yu, were all fantastic!
