EXCEPTIONAL. I’ve been solo traveling for 6 weeks now and this is the best hotel I’ve stayed at in any city or town. Truly stunning location, very very well designed hotel, and lovely underfloor heating. Best breakfast I’ve had outside of luxury hotels, great hiking nearby. Really loved my stay - kind of regret I didn’t stay any longer. Very little food around Yuanyang rice paddies, but the hotel has a good restaurant on site.

The towels are high-thread count and soft, and the overall hygiene is good. Employees do not wear work clothes when working, and service needs to be improved.

The hotel has a design. The foot bathing pool faces the landscape. It feels like it is pet-friendly. It seems that the hotel introduced a 100 cleaning fee, but it didn't mention it. But the room rate of one night is not cheap, and the service can’t keep up. The parking is at another hotel on the mountain. After the hotel’s three jumpers come to pick up the luggage, people have to walk for 5 minutes by themselves. There is an altitude of 2,000, and it’s down the mountain. Fortunately, it was really tiring to check out and climb the mountain. You can buy a better electric car to pick up and drop off guests. Then the hotel organizes activities such as fishing and some interesting farm work, but they are all in the afternoon. So I missed it perfectly when I checked in at 6 o'clock. I either stayed for two days, or I arrived at noon to play. (What was even more outrageous on the day I lived was the power outage in the area the next day) The store is relatively simple, I want to order their signature chicken soup, and they say it will be stewed for 3 hours, but it is too late to make it. I ordered other cheap ones later, and the sound of killing chickens came from the back kitchen, so it was very fresh...

Wow! Jacky is a man of many talents: he is a tour guide, driver, guesthouse owner and chef. He is a local whose English is very good. He is very knowledgeable about the area and very interesting to talk to. His place is amazing and located right on the edge of and overlooking the Duoyishu Rice Terraces. Unfortunately there was plenty clouds and fog for the sunrise, but Jacky's rooftop has an amazing view of the rice terraces, and on the perfect morning, I'm sure it'll be amazing. Next time we'll stay here 2 or 3 nights. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED! P.s. The only thing is the location on trip is correct but to get there using a gps, you need to go to the nearest parking lot, and then walk down through the village to the Guesthouse.

Let me first talk about the most worthwhile location. It is the best place to check in for the terraced fields. There is no other. The wide platform and the layers of terraced fields are in full view. The distant mountains are covered with light clouds, as if you are in a fairyland. Let me talk about the most worthwhile service. When we checked in, the sister came over with two big backpacks and two big boxes in her hands. She was 20 meters away, but she really touched us. The store girl was even cuter. She first shared her little fruit with us, and then We upgraded to a room with a view, and were given a free ticket to the terraced fields. She introduced us to various popular check-in spots. I was really infected by her enthusiasm and decided to stay another night. Of course, I hadn't seen enough of the terraced fields. The room was fully equipped. The hot water was very good, and the dry and wet areas were separated on both sides, which was very comfortable. The sound insulation in the room was very good, and the team building group didn't hear it. The breakfast was even more hearty. The red rice noodles were highly recommended. At noon, I ordered cured pork ribs and eggs with wild vegetables, which were all delicious. It was a very satisfying encounter, and it is worth it. Just like all typical mountain villages, the cobbled steps/stairs, winding paths & narrow walkways shared with chickens & water buffaloes are usually dirty but it’s the untidy arrangement of the closely packed houses in this Pugaolou Village which is down the main road and right to the edge of the rice terraces that makes a memorable, warm and interesting stay and experience! The hotel is old but my ‘family’ room which cost almost double the windowless ones was warm and cozy, especially with the heater, electric blanket and instant hot water shower, and the floor-to-ceiling glass walls. The restaurant by the same owner is down by the edge of the rice terraces and about a minute or two walk away, serves simple but tasty food. The sole staff, Xiao Sui was extremely hardworking, friendly and helpful with tour and transport suggestions. He can be contacted via WeChat and will help guests with luggages from the main road down to hotel & vice versa.

CCamila The hotel manager was very helpful. He arranged to pick us up in a car close to the parking lot before our arrival. Our room was modern, clean and beautiful. The view from our balcony was breathtaking! You could spend all day at the hotel admiring the terraces from the hotel roof, restaurant or your room. The hotel manager arranged a driver to drive us back to the station. I would recommend the hotel to friends and family. We would stay again.

Xx1023The B&B has a dedicated parking lot, which is a few hundred meters away from the B&B. There are steps and stone paths, and it is a test of physical strength to carry a lot of things. The B&B sister will help the guests carry their luggage. To be honest, it is hard to bear it. Fortunately, we don’t have suitcases and can basically solve it by ourselves. The B&B is located next to the terraced fields, with a good view, comfortable facilities, good hygiene, and good sound insulation and heat preservation of the balcony doors and windows. The only problem is that the room door is not soundproof. When a wave of ******* guests are unscrupulous, they continue to make loud noises upstairs and downstairs for several hours at night, affecting rest. You can eat in the B&B, which is very convenient. It is not easy to open a B&B in the mountains to be hygienic and comfortable, and there are several local Hani aunts and sisters employed. Full marks!

The innermost one is from the highway. You need to contact the boss in advance to park. Go to the hotel parking lot, and then let the store help you carry your luggage and hike up the steps and path to the hotel. The side of the hotel facing the terraces can be viewed from the floor-to-ceiling windows in the room. The side facing away from the terraces is the houses and fields in the village, but you can also go to the front of the hotel to enjoy the scenery. There are also flowers and plants designed by the hotel. Everywhere has a sense of design. This hotel has a sense of design. The characteristics of the B&B are that the owner has a designer at home, and it can be seen that he has put great care into it. Whether it is the public area or the room, there are small scenes everywhere, and the photos are very photogenic. Huangcaoling Village, where this place is located, is relatively small. AAaron CedricI love this hotel! The room is so atmospheric, with large windows connecting you with the beautiful scenery outside. On a foggy day, you cannot see any of the terraces and there's not much to do outside, but the room is at its most magical in the fog... the view looks like a famous Japanese screen of 'pine in mist'... or a Song dynasty painting. Incredibly beautiful.... I wish I spent more time in the room! The location of the hotel is perfect for those who want to see the sunrise over Duoyishu, since you can view it on the roof or, if you want to go to the best viewing platform that's only about a 10 minute walk away. The hotel is also semi-walking distance to Azheke Village, which is 45-60 minutes by walking on the ring road. Every morning the hotel serve rice noodle soup using local red rice.... it's quite nourishing to start a day of hiking. Oh, and the boss is really friendly and helpful. He seems to only speak Chinese, but I think he will go out of his way to be helpful if you dont speak Chinese. He makes great recommendations and even seems to be good at forecasting the weather to help you plan your trip. He definitel 'knows the hills.'

GGuest UserThe inn is located in a quiet village in Duoyishu. Location was good - about 15 to 20 mins walk from Duoiyishu terrace viewing platform, and there was a small restaurant near the inn. The Hani caretaker was hospitable and showed me the way to get to the terrace fields in the village. It was so wonderful being able to get so close to the rice terraces! Here, you could view the sunrise without having to pay the 70yuan charged at the viewing platforms. Do note that the 70 yuan ticket allows access to the other viewing platforms as well, and is good for 72 hours. I had a free upgrade to a bigger room with large windows and a view. The room was clean and the bed was so comfortable with an electric blanket. Owner is fluent in both Chinese and English, and was helpful in arranging my transport and giving advice on the sunrise viewing spots. I have beautiful memories of my stay in Duoyishu, would like to come back again!

JJamesHarrisThis was a really unexpected find in the villages around the Yuanyang rice terraces. The building itself is really beautiful and directing overlooks the terraces. The room was surprisingly large and the floor to ceiling window offers a great view(weather permitting). The bed was super comfortable and shower hot and powerful. The best part was the sister who works here; she couldn’t have been more helpful, even walking us to the nearby village to find a place to eat. She is enthusiastic and very knowledgeable about the area. The only downside(and I know it’s a bit of a sensitive issue) is the lack of air conditioning in the room. Even at the end of June it isn’t hot around Yuanyang, but it is very humid and air conditioning could definitely help with the latter. That being said, I slept well with the window open and would definitely recommend and stay here again.

You can walk to the inn in about 5-6 minutes. The house is built in front of the inn, it’s a bit messy, staying in a room with a big bed and sunrise view, with floor-to-ceiling glass windows on the whole wall, you can watch the terraced fields invincibly, especially in the early morning, you can almost watch the sunrise without going out of the room, the sanitation facilities in the room are average, but it’s good considering the terraced fields area Yes, although the Hani guy who is the innkeeper is not very talkative, he is quite serious and responsible. There is no food in the inn, but the food in the Hani-style restaurant next to the parking lot is very good, the red rice is delicious, affordable and cheap, and the service attitude is good.

JJennifer in ChinaPretty much next to the terraces! The view from my room was amazing, especially sunrise, could clearly see it from my room or could go to the outside area to see. Therefore didn’t have to go to the overcrowded viewing platform at the crack of dawn. Room is comfy, heater and towels provided but not really much else, so paying really for the view. Shower powerful and warm but no toiletries provided. Says restaurant on description but in fact doesn’t have one, has a couple of tables where the owner can warm up dumplings or baozi, however the owner is very nice and took me to see his friend which is only a short walk away who had a kitchen and could cook different meals at good prices. The owner helped me carry my luggage down, and it was pretty heavy, and then helped me to arrange someone to bring it up at the end of my stay. I would recommend not bring too much with you as it’s about an 8-10 min walk from the nearest car park, with quite a few steps or uneven paths but like I said, can arrange someone to help with any heavy luggage. Also it is in a little village surrounded by nature so bear in mind, you are going to hear things like the chickens and the wind. Owner speaks great English, always there to answer questions and help.
