Travel with a group of friends to Beppu but only 4 of us decided to stay at Amanek for 2 nights. This was the best decision ever as we were closed to the JR station, eateries, Tokiwa shopping mall, Donki and the beach were within walking distance. Only few staff could speak English. Those who speak Japanese only also try their best to serve the guest. I am impressed by how clean and new the whole hotel is. Best of all, I love the free flow of juices & beverages. You could also do take away in the UCC coffee disposible cup. Love the choice of either western or local breakfast with free flow of side dishes. I am surprised by how big the bedroom is and spacious bathroom. The gym equipment tho basic, are new & in good condition. The onsen is clean & modern & I love the warm rooftop pool with an awesome view! Amanek is thoughtful to provide guest with a basket to hold all your onsen needs. Upon check out, I was overcharged for my 2 days of breakfast. The staff was quick to rectify the problem & refunded me on the spot. Yes, would definitely stay in Amanek again in my next visit to Beppu! Thank you for the awesome stay!

We enjoyed our stay thoroughly. Service was very good. Parking was an extra 550 yen per day. Breakfast was Japanese style but did include a bacon and egg cooked in front of each guest with the small Japanese hotpot. Our room fit 3 adults was very nice with clean modern amenities consisting of one room with two single beds, and a sizable living room with futon in the evening for the third bed. Nice view of Beppu tower in our room. Hotspring outdoor was totally enjoyable with a view of the sunrise and the Beppu Bay. Gotta be careful though because for ladies, someone in a boat at the bay might be able to see our naked upper bodies with telescope if we stand up.😅

My recent stay at Dormy Inn Oita Hotel was truly heartwarming and memorable. From the moment I arrived, I felt welcomed and valued by the friendly staff, setting the tone for a fantastic experience.
Let's start with the room – it was simply great! Spacious, cozy, and impeccably clean, it felt like a home away from home. After a busy day of exploring, returning to such a comfortable space was a true delight.
And oh, the breakfast! Absolutely delicious. Each morning, I looked forward to a delightful spread of Japanese delights that tantalized my taste buds and left me feeling energized for the day ahead. It was a wonderful introduction to Japanese cuisine.
Now, let's talk about the onsen – an absolute highlight of my stay. The soothing hot springs provided a tranquil retreat where I could unwind and relax amidst the serene surroundings. It was an experience I'll cherish for a long time.
One of the things I loved most about Dormy Inn Oita was its convenient location near the JR Station. This made it incredibly easy to explore the local area and find delicious dining options for dinner. It was like having the best of Oita right at my doorstep!
During my stay, there was an unexpected earthquake, but I was so impressed by how the staff handled the situation. They kept everyone informed and checked in regularly to ensure everyone felt safe and comfortable. Their kindness and professionalism truly made a difference during a challenging time.
And let me tell you about the incredible assistance I received when my car ran out of battery. The front desk staff went above and beyond to help me out, contacting the necessary services and ensuring everything was sorted out quickly and efficiently. It was such a relief to have their support.
In conclusion, my stay at Dormy Inn Oita was nothing short of amazing. From the warm hospitality to the comfortable accommodations and delicious breakfast, every aspect exceeded my expectations. I can't wait to return and make more wonderful memories at this fantastic hotel. Dormy Inn will always hold a special place in my heart.

We were warmly greeted by staff who helped us with our bags and checked us into the hotel room . We had booked into the twin room . Wow it was huge with a bedroom , dining room as well as a wash basin and toilet . Only letdown was that there was no shower nor bathtub . Another friend had booked the one with private indoor and outdoor onsens and they were beautiful . This hotel had two private onsens that one could use anytime . You hang a “in use” sign on the door each time you use and it was very beautiful . The public bath was also unique and picturesque . Kaiseiki dinner was delicious with wagyu beef . Breakfast was Japanese style and was also delicious . What made the stay special was the Nepalese staff Pathak with his good explanation and his ability to communicate English with us . That made a difference to the stay .

This is a warm and comfortable hotel. I stayed with my family in the two guest rooms of Anzu and Ajisai at Yufuin Bettei ITSUKI. We chose the package with dinner and breakfast.
You can park your car at the hotel first and then go out to play. It takes only 7 minutes to walk to Kinrin Lake. There is also a MaxValue supermarket near the hotel, which is super convenient. After half a day of sightseeing in cold weather, the hotel lobby welcomes their guests with the warmth of firewood. This is one of the things I like about this hotel.
The staff are very polite and the service is superb. They call before dinner reservation time to let you know dinner is ready. Dinner is arranged in a private room in the restaurant which allows sufficient privacy. Local seasonal ingredients are used in every dish, tasted fresh and delicious and served on fine pottery. Such an absolute feast for the tongue and eyes!
I would like to appreciate the mindfulness of the hotel. When making hotel reservation, I told the hotel that we have a member who does not eat raw food. At that time, the hotel replied that the sashimi in the meal could be served cooked. When we check-in, hotel staff took special attention with that.
The room is spacious and tidy with air purifiers and humidifiers. One of the rooms we stayed in had an indoor and an outdoor onsen and the other had a semi-outdoor hot spring. Flowers and plants are planted in the garden of the room and around the outdoor hot spring. You can feel the natural atmosphere of Yufuin when you look out from indoors or in onsen.
There is another point worthy of praise. When I was seated for dinner, I asked the staff at the front desk if I could buy stamps for sending postcard. They did not have stamps for sale. To my surprise, as soon as the first course of dinner was served, hotel staff handed me a beautiful envelope with a stamp inside. They even checked the postage fee to make sure the stamp fee is enough. How efficient and thoughtful they are.
This is the best onsen hotel and I would recommend it to everyone. Family raves about the stay. Overall it's impeccable. If I have the opportunity to come to Yufuin again in the future, I will definitely choose this hotel again.
Enjoy bathing in our free flow 100% natural hot spring baths and a sense of freedom, watching seasonal views of Yufudake Mountain.

Because it was located in a quiet place, I felt a quiet rural atmosphere.
It may feel far away because it is located at the end of an uphill road from the station, but it is located right in front of Kinrinko Lake, a famous spot in Yufuin.
The clerks were also very friendly, and when I asked if I could store my luggage, they said they could, so I came in after playing with a grateful heart.
He even helped me bring my luggage to the room.
I was impressed from the beginning thanks to the comfortable and considerate service.
However, we wanted to reserve a place with a private bath on the first floor.
They said it was already full..! Oh my gosh,,
An open-air bath that can be reserved for 1 hour and used privately.
I made a reservation at night and used it, so there was actually no inconvenience!
Also, we all go to the shared public bath early in the morning.
Since it was just my family, it was also unintentionally private.
As expected from Yufuin, the hot spring water was very good and neat and clean.
Even when checking out, the owner greeted me kindly.
Even if Jim Carrey is carried to the first floor just like the first time...
I'm really touched in many ways,,,🥹
There are many ryokans in Yufuin, but this is a really great ryokan for the price.
Next time I visit again, I want to experience the first floor as well.
I'm planning to re-book ㅜㅠㅠ It was such a friendly experience,,
And there is a soba restaurant with the same name right next to the bathhouse.
It looks like they only sell lunch, but this place is also really good and there is a long wait, which is a shame since it is located right next door. 🤭

The room is shown as 11 square meters, but it is at least 20 square meters. The hot spring pool in the room is also very large.
The toiletries are all from Pola, and even the skin care lotion is also from Pola.
The two meals brought by me are both Japanese, which is quite good.

It is a 5-story inn. To commemorate the anniversary of its founding 111, there was a free beer drink service in the lounge. It is a long-established inn in Yufuin Onsen. The customer service of the front desk staff was polite • and kind. I was able to answer the difference between Yufuin and Yufuin properly. I stayed in a large Japanese-style room on the 5 floor. When I opened the curtain, Mt. Yufu was approaching in front of me. The bathrooms are not unit-type, and the bath • Toilet • wash basins are independent. Supper is a summer Oitagawa kaiseki course. All the dishes were delicious. In particular, the dishes that left an impression on me were grilled on a Japanese black beef hoba miso ceramic plate. The warmed miso has a hoba scent, and the slightly sweet taste goes well with the beef. The more you want to refill it with an exquisite taste. Breakfast is buffet style. I was satisfied with the local menu of Oita Prefecture, including dango soup. There are two indoor baths in the large hot spring bath with a spacious space. There is also a whirlpool bath and a Louis Bosti hot water of the incense hot water. The open-air bath has natural rocks on the side facing the garden. The hot water temperature is a little hot and has a feeling of slimy. What is it in the indoor bath! Yunohana. Yunohana, which crystallized the hot spring ingredients, was in bloom in the bathtub. The hot spring is a good proof. I was able to stay at this hot spring inn and became a good memory of my husband and wife trip.
A stay at Yufuin Onsen Yufuin Kotobuki Hananosho places you in the heart of Yufu, within a 15-minute walk of Norman Rockwell Yufuin Museum and Yufuin Trick Art Meikyukan Museum. This ryokan is 13.2 mi (21.2 km) from Hells of Beppu and 13.3 mi (21.3 km) from African Safari.

Room accommodation with open-air bath [Room] Yufu Dake was well seen from the open-air bath. It is convenient to wash shampoo and body in the open-air bath or in the inner bath in the room. There are chairs and tables on the balcony. 【Amenities】 There are several cosmetics for men and women on the washbasin in the room. There are cleaning, but for the price of the room, including other amenities, it was .... 【Bath】 Small towels are prepared in the public bath, so you don't need to use wet things. There are few amenities in the dressing room. [Meal] Private room in the dining hall with evening breakfast. Dinner and Bungo beef steak were soft and delicious. When I entered the private room, I was already prepared for sashimi and baked fish on the table. There may be corona measures, but the baked fish was cold, so it was a little disappointing. There was breakfast, hot tofu and specialty ryukyu. There was a matcha and sweet service at check-in. It is good to spend a leisurely time walking to Lake Jinxi. I just felt that it was not as expensive.

I thought it was self-service and no one was there. I didn't expect that there was someone to greet you at check-in. Someone told you the precautions. I thought the hotel was old, so I was prepared for it to be dirty. Fortunately, it was very clean. There are supermarkets and restaurants nearby. It is very close to the JR station. I rented a private hot spring. I agreed with the front desk and registered. I can soak in it at will. It is quite clean. If possible, it is better to bring a disposable quilt cover. There are still some places that are not covered by their quilt cover. There are not many sockets, so you need to bring a multi-plug one. The quilt is based on the number of guests. Small disposable cups are given. Remember to buy some at the supermarket.

GGuest UserWe stayed at the Ryokan almost three months ago. And I still did not write a review. We stayed there almost by accident, as the Ryokan we intended to stay in had only a vacancy for one night. There was time pressure. So I accepted their suggestion of their colleagues. Maybe I would not have picked it if I had looked into it better as I prefer a traditional house and here the old house (badly damaged by an earthquake) has been erased and replaced with daring new architecture. Yet is turned out to be the best place of our trip, one of the best places I stayed in, and I have been in many places all over Japan. How to write a review that does justice to this special place ? A place that has all the old fashioned refinery, mastering the tradition of omotenashi, blending it perfectly with a young vibrant savoir-vivre, global art and gastronomy. |I cannot write a review. Please read all the other ones, I only want to say : thank you, arigato gozaimasu ありがとうございます
GGuest UserYufuin, who wanted to stay before. Renewed with the total design of etsuji Mitooka who worked on the luxury sightseeing train. It is an inn, but it has a chair and bed, simple but nice design, and it was perfect for us who did not like people coming in and out of the room. The meal was more comfortable and good than the room meal because it was served in another room. The dishes were also devised and beautiful and delicious. When I asked the young female staff, I was impressed by the answer to everything except the dishes. We couldn't leave food, so we were full of pots, because we had a lot of pots. The inn had a lot of dinner and breakfast, so the inn continued for two days was a little bit painful when it was old. The bath was a family, and there was a large open-air bath and I was able to relax. It was conveniently located to walk around Lake Jinpu and Yuno Tsubo Kaido Road, and it was fun to enjoy shopping and enjoy it. I would like to stay when I visit Yufuin someday.
GGuest UserI have been to a few different ryokans across Japan now and Yawaraginosato Yadoya is definitely in the front of the pack. The staff are very friendly and personable. They are helpful even after we check out of the room and had our car still parked for a couple hours. The private onsen options are abundant and there are 4 different private onsen you can book for your family. There is also a game room that you can book for ping pong and fooseball, the former is very onsen appropriate...haha. The dinner was fantastic. The beef from Oita rivals A5 Kobe Beef I have had else where. We were so full by the end of the meal. The kids meal are also beautifully presented. There are multiple massage chairs that are high quality and great to use after onsen. The room is one of the nicer rooms we've stayed at ryokans. Some ryokan rooms are dated and old but still costs similarly, this place was nice and new. What I would like to see improvement from Yawaraginosato is I expected to have the meal in our room. In this case we went to their restaurant. I have always had shokuji in my room and the staff always made the beds for us, which was a nice service and also how I justify the high price of staying at an onsen ryokan.
GGuest UserAlthough the location is halfway up the mountain, it takes about 10 minutes to walk to the street. The hotel staff are very polite, the service is very good, and the introduction is very serious. The facilities in the room are really nothing to say. I enjoy my own independent outdoor bath, comfortable tatami space, and a big bed that makes me feel like it's dawn. It's comfortable enough. The meal performance is also very good, traditional Japanese kaiseki cuisine, the portion is just right, each group of guests has an independent box, so they will not be disturbed while dining. Hotel staff will call to remind you when the meal is ready.
It is recommended that everyone come here to visit and stay one night in Youli
GGuest UserThe large open-air bath overlooking Mt. Yufu has the best atmosphere. It's warm, so you can soak in it leisurely. For men, there is already a 1 or a small open-air bath that is hot and can be used by the bridge. I stayed in the main building. It is a building with a considerable age, and although it is undeniably old, the toilet has been renovated and cleaned well. The dishes were basic plans, so there were no high-class ingredients, but I was satisfied with the contents that I could feel politeness. Finally, the response of the employees was very good and made the impression of this inn very good.
GGuest UserLocation - A bit far away from the Yufuin JR station, driving is recommended. Within walking distance of Kinrinko and Stained Glass Museum is a plus.
Cleanliness - Clean room and common bath area.
Service - Per booking confirmation check-in time is 1500-1900. Front desk staff was already gone when I arrived at around 1815. Took longer then expected for doing self check-in as the reservation number I have is different from what it is in the system, and the staff over phone barely speaks English so I have to use my broken Japanese to communicate.
Facilities - Cannot ask for more for such a price. Free bicycle rental service is great for non-driving guess to travel around Yufuin.
Nneko_donIt is a cottage style that each room is independent and full of private feeling. There was a large bath in the room, and amenities and dryers were not substantial. After that, the staff of the guide staff was badly waited at the first dinner, the shoes were not prepared on the return, and the hair was in the pre-dinner sake, and only the staff of the dinner It was bad to jump out. It is dinner, but it is Yufuin flavoring, and everything is sweet. Soy sauce is sweet, so I was not delicious. I think it is very good for those who like this seasoning. The fine service is good and the hot springs are also star 3 because the shower was broken.
GGuest UserThe check in process was ”smart check-in”, where guests receive the passcode to the room via email. Unfortunately, I didn't receive any email (not in junk/spam either), and was stuck outside the room, trying to call a call center that had already closed for the day. There was also no reply to the email I had sent via the Trip app. In the end, I had to ask the guest staying in another room for the phone number of the person directly in-charge of the facility, so that I could call them to get the password and check-in code. The facility exceeded my expectations, but the check-in process due to the missing email was too stressful and unpleasant. I may use the facility again, but I will book it through another app to prevent such problems again.
GGuest UserFirst of all, I was very satisfied with the location! It was nice that it was close to Yufuin Station and the bus terminal haha.
And the owner was friendly and could communicate in English, so I was guided well!
Above all, I went because of the hot springs, but they said that the family baths can only be used if a “child” is included..! We couldn't use the family bath because it didn't meet the requirements, so we used the public bath. However, since the public bath is only used by ryokan guests, we were satisfied that our family could use it almost privately for two days. In particular, I brought a grandmother in her 80s with me and she really enjoyed it!
I requested breakfast, and I was able to choose between 8:00 and 8:30, and it was a really neat and clean Japanese home-cooked meal! I stayed for two days and was satisfied with the different types of side dishes and drinks. It seemed like they paid a lot of attention to hygiene, and I felt like I was treated well, so it was a really nice place to stay.
Next time I go to Yufuin, this is a place I want to stay again! ☺️
GGuest UserIt took us a while to find the Minshuku as there were no English signage. Luckily we asked us a passerby who pointed us in the right direction. The tatami room was enough for our family of 4 with an 8yo and 11yo. The communal sink was right outside our room and the shared toilets were right around the corner. We liked their small bath house too around the the back of the main building. We were very kindly greeted and shown our room. They most spoke Japanese but we managed to get by using translator apps. Ample parking and we were allowed to park for a while after checking out so we could walk around the small town. They also returned my daughter's bolster and purse which she accidentally left behind. The location of the minshuku is very good - just a few hundred meters from Kinrin lake and the tourist spots nearby.
