The Hotel Donat offers a very fair deal with an excellent price-performance ratio. The rooms are a little old. However, they are very clean and the mattresses are very comfortable. The food is down-to-earth and tasty. There is always a large selection of freshly prepared dishes. You can easily walk to the city center of Zadar. The approximately 4 km long route follows the coast and is pleasant to walk. There are several bus stops nearby. You can reach the hotel from the city on lines 5 and 8. I would love to come back!

Hotel needed a total refurbishment. Foods were abundant but presentation was poor. Rooms are clean but dated. Floor tiles are loose and wall paper is stained. Anyway, for just 1 night stay, it's ok.

Hotel Donat is a few metres from the beach. The pool area of the hotel is immaculate, with tables all around. The reception team were friendly and extremely helpful. The rooms are a little dated, but very clean and comfortable with a lovely balcony and could not ask for better views. ( others were not so lucky )The dining area had so much choice, that something should appeal to all tastes. We tried various local dishes which were all enjoyable. The staff at the hotel, worked tirelessly to keep all areas spotlessly clean. There are loads of sun beds on a grassed area, which are lovely, if you manage to get one. We watched at 5am, people starting to put towels on them and by 7am they were all gone, so be quick!! The one thing which was a bit off putting for us, was that you were not able to get tea / coffee until breakfast at 7.30am. It would have been lovely to either have a kettle in the room or a machine available early morning.

Rooms are basic and even though I upgraded i don't see there was one. 3 meals per day at set times and no snacks inbetween or available to buy. Lovely view of sea from the pool area. Pool and bar very clean. Cocktails are not that great especially when buying them. Air con on but not noticeable in the room so very muggy. (We slept with gallons door open for a little breeze) Can only turn on or off. No individual temperature control. Meals are in the other building just through the carpark and sadly we had a school trip of some description wanting to eat the same time as us which was off putting. Tables and chairs are set up by the pool with the sun loungers down a few stairs on the grassed area. (Unfortunately, they are roped together so not much movement) They are mostly under some trees so you are either in the sun or not. They do come to clean the rooms everyday but we declined as wanted our windows left open for the breeze.

Nice hotel in lovely grounds virtually on the beach. The room was nice and clean with a comfy bed. We enjoyed sitting by the pool in the evening with a local brandy. Staff were lovely, the only downside was the bus loads of teenage schoolchildren arriving daily for a one night stay which made the hotel and dining room quite busy. The food was ok but mostly cold, even the fried eggs at breakfast, but there was a good selection for lunch and dinner.

Top staff as is the view this hotel offers. Thinking of the waiters Luka and Arangel who were extremely kind (as were their colleagues at reception) The meal wasn't really varied but it was really good, maybe a little greasy but there was lighter food which suited us for the stay The lunch on my last day, however, was excellent, very varied with pizza, ice cream, much more choice in pastries compared to the usual restaurant (following the closure we were invited to go to the other hotel of the hotel group) The rooms are really very clean, cleaning is done every day I highly recommend this hotel, if I come back to Zadar I will stay at this hotel without hesitation.
