3-Star Hotels in Zakinthos Island

Two star hotel. It has a very poor breakfast and a small elevator (where only two people can fit at a time). The staff is disappointing, not very friendly. We ordered a pizza delivery and, instead of the receptionist calling the room to inform, he allowed the motoboy to go up to our room to make the delivery (I've never seen that in my life). Also, there’s no parking. The bathroom in the room is extremely small, with brackish water. Amenities were never replenished. The air conditioning didn't have enough power to cool the room, and the safe didn't work either. We were relieved to leave.

It can be said that I have stayed in the best service hotel in Europe. The boss Mr. Dali was very enthusiastic, first upgraded the room to the most luxurious room with a large balcony facing the sea, and arranged different trips for us in Zakinsos for three days. We left our clothes on the beach a dozen kilometers away because of carelessness, and halfway to the airport we remembered that we had left things at the hotel, but the bosses were free to help us get them back. In addition, the hotel's restaurant is also great, breakfast is free, things are very rich, and the boss also sends us water or drinks from time to time. The photos sent are all hotel food. The hotel is located in the port of Zakinsos, the location is particularly convenient. Friends who don't drive can stay here and let the boss arrange everything. Zakinsos is really beautiful and highly recommended.

Return visit to Hotel Vasilikos Beach. I could simply say we had a perfectly relaxing time and leave it at that but I am sure that Tripadvisor would require some justification. So, welcomed by Hilary, Ria and all the hotel staff as if we were family returning home. It certainly felt like that after a hiatus of six years (last visited in 2018). Allocated to our favourite room 127 that has a lovely view to the sea. Many of the rooms were renovated in 2019 but Room 127 remains one of the originals, simply but comfortably furnished that made for a quiet and comfortable night's sleep. Breakfasts now offer a choice of both freshly cooked options as well as continental options, all served, buffet style, in the modern restaurant area that overlooks the pool. The ambience of the hotel, pool area and gardens remains peaceful and relaxed. As guests of the hotel we had complementary sun loungers at the nearby St Nicholas beach. There remain four tavernas within easy walking distance for dinners and during the daytime, a bigger choice of nearby beach bars for drinks and food. This remains one of our favourite hotels. Cannot wait to return!

There are not many varieties of breakfast, but at least there are fried eggs, boiled eggs, bread, coffee, cereals and juices, which can meet the basic needs of the Chinese people. I arrived at the hotel early in the morning, there was no room left, I could only wait for someone to check out, but the hotel said that I could go to the restaurant for breakfast, but it was more humane. The location of the hotel is in the mountains, so you must consider renting a car when you come to live, otherwise you will feel that it is difficult to move.

We received a warm welcome from the owner, Athina, who gave us really useful information about the island and local amenities. The room itself was perfect for us. 1 large bedroom with twin beds, plus 2 more single beds (Real beds, NOT camp/sofa beds) in the main living space. There was a small kitchenette but we only used the fridge/freezer and kettle which were in good working order. The room was spacious, clean and well maintained. It was typically simple and basic but we had good quality bed sheets that were fresh. Towels were thick, clean and changed frequently. The room had a safe and there was no extra charge for this which is rare but a welcomed extra. The air conditioning was charged daily, however it was very effective and necessary given the temperatures were around 40 degrees each day! Athina and Ellie were the most helpful, friendly people you could hope to have as hosts and they always made time to help you even though they were very busy. The location of the apartments was excellent. Right in the middle of the shops, bars and restaurants but surprisingly quiet. We were never disturbed at night or early in the morning. Dennis and George work really hard in the pool snack bar, and again, make you feel like you are genuinely welcome. There were plenty of sunbeds and the pool area was well maintained and clean. Spent a week at hotel Petros. We were a family of 3 adults and a 12 year old and booked a junior suite in the new block by the children’s pool. The room was great and looked brand new. Two double bedrooms and a large bathroom with a shower cubical. We paid for a safe but didn’t feel we needed air conditioning. There was a kettle and fridge freezer in the room. The room was spotless. On our last day we had to check out by 11am but had the use of a courtesy room for a shower etc. We had breakfast included but only tried it one day as it wasn’t to our taste proffered to wait for the pool bar to open for a toasty. We was located on the ground floor and the only thing I found was we was very close to the patios either side so not much privacy and could get noisy if people was sat outside. The staff at the hotel was very nice, welcoming and polite. We used the snack bar at the pool a few times and the food was lovely. The pool area itself is quite small, we always managed to get a sun lounger but there was the usuals who was up before 7am reserving them and the others that reserve a bed and you don’t see them all day. The hotel was about a 10 min walk to the local restaurants and about 20 minute walk to the beach. One day we walked all the way to the water park which took over half an hour but opted for a taxi back for €8. I would recommended the hotel but would probably stay closer into the centre next time as the walk became a little much by the end of the week.
