I have a complaint. Yesterday, I came to breakfast according to my reservation at the hotel. I did not find a table and I did not find anyone to receive me. So I went to a table where there was no one. I sat down to eat breakfast. I was surprised that the waiter asked me to leave the table in front of everyone, which embarrassed me in front of everyone present and put me at a far table. About the people, and I had to talk to the manager Marco to solve my problem. First, he refused to shake my hand. He showed me the guest list and that I was at the bottom of the list and did not deserve to be in view. He told me that he would reserve a table for me for tomorrow, but when I arrived today, I did not find my room number on any table nor anyone to guide me. Where is the professionalism in this dealing? Reception more than limited When we booked I selected a suite for 4 people with 2 breakfasts (children do not have breakfast) Arriving at the hotel we are charged an extra 160 euros for the children by making us pay for the children's breakfast. Impossible to do otherwise The welcome basket is made up of an apple!!! For a 4 star it’s more than limited… the sauna in the bathroom perfect… but impossible to stop it No bathrobe to go down to the Spa Hair dryer not working... A doorman and a valet are available to customers in the hotel, we wait….. a few minutes but preference will go to the wealthiest customers of the hotel (a popular destination for travelers from the Middle East) we also have the 'I feel like the hotel is theirs!! Unfortunately no exchanges with its customers... Magnificent SPA, perfect breakfast

I like to read other TripAdvisor reviews. One review said this hotel was horrible. We loved it from the minute we arrived to the day we left it was great. All the staff from the cleaning staff to reception and the dining room staff made our holiday perfect. This hotel comes with a lake it's a 2 minute walk to the town, a half board gets you breakfast, 3.00 till 4.00pm gets you a snack (soup some meat dish and small cakes help yourself) dinner (or tea if you're English) 6.30pm comes the main act a 5 course meal. The room we had didn't come with AC, but we did have a fan and a lake view (329). Now, would we return a big YES!

In three words - very faded grandeur. The whole place needs some serious investment. Our arrival was chaotic. Had to call twice for the promised transfer, then our bags were left in an open area until we managed to retrieve them ourselves. However, the position is lovely and our view (****** room, lake facing) was spectacular. The room itself - 723 - was spacious but extremely dated. Bed comfortable though and decent shower. Thin towels. Cleaners were great BUT concierge service I found rude, verging on intimidating, with often a few gathering around the entrance. Had to walk around them with no greeting or recognition. On our departure, the concierge said ‘English’ and spat, which was obviously horrid. Reception average (apart from Diane who was lovely). Dinner ok, and in a wonderful room, but very subdued/boring atmosphere. There’s no obvious host or manager. I felt a bit sorry for some of the staff. All in all, would not return, especially at the price point.

Truly a grand hotel! It has such a nice old world charm about it including the room keys which are heavy metal! We had a room with a nice balcony overlooking the lake which made our stay really worthwhile. The hotel offers underground parking within the premises and they also have a lovely buffet breakfast spread. If the weather is fine, it’s recommended to enjoy breakfast outdoors while admiring the lake views. We had a full board package with dinner included at the restaurant. They have a bit of a dress code which I found strange - no shorts for gentlemen but flip flops allowed! The food though was really good and filling. Surely recommend a stay here if you’re in Zell am See!

Just left The Grand Hotel after the most wonderful week. We can't compliment this fantastic hotel enough. Our room, the views and most importantly the Staff who all treated us like royalty. Nothing is too much bother here. This was our fourth visit and definitely wont be our last.

It was one of the most terrible hotels Ive ever stayed in i have spent more than 700$ !! its small with almost no space to walk the bathroom is terrible and the room was in another building in a ****** building to be exact which was not mentioned when booked and i found a hair on the bedding's overall it's not worth it do not go there especially if you're used to luxurious hotels

This hotel is fabulous. I have just experienced the 25 min back massage including neck shoulders arms and hands, almost fell asleep. My husband had the 50 min all over massage and he hurts in places he never knew he had. She had her elbows in his back at one point.. his first massage and didn't know he could ask for it to be more gentle 😂 This hotel is amazing, the food alone is out of this world, I'm a very plain eater but I tried everything and loved it. 5 courses and unlimited salads. The pool was almost empty during the day and after a week i can now swim and also float, I've tried for many years. The tap water is better than bottled and chilled♡ The grand spa has steam rooms and saunas, hot stone beds and a view to die for even on the cloudiest of days, all bedrooms have either a mountain or lake view. 5 minutes from the slopes and a must for the non skier for some pampering relaxation and selfcare, first visit certainly not our last ♡ All staff speak very good english and help in anyway they can to make your stay first class. I cannot fault any part of our stay, even dipped in the lake it was minus 13 outside. Exhilarating. There is a railroad crossing outside the hotel and I found myself waiting for the barrier to go down then up before I crossed 🛤🚂 I booked the mountain tour, we had a superb guide which we booked via the hotel, 4 cablecars later I was 3028m above the clouds in the scorching sun (january) with views to die for. He was very informative and I found out alot about the mountains, things like the trees at ground level can't survive after a certain height and different trees grow as it gets higher. The trees at the top have a cut off point where no trees can survive. The mountain goats turn black in winter to absorb the heat and whilst I was filming from the cable car we managed to see one. Just a couple of things matteus spoke about. Please experience Grand Hotel Zell am See if you can. It was on my bucket list and i didn't even know. Thankyou everyone for making our stay memorable ♡

The location of the hotel is excellent, in the city center and by the water. The receptionist (Amber) is friendly, helpful, and professional. When the key didn’t work, a solution was immediately provided. However, the rooms are outdated, as is the rest of the hotel. It has an unusual layout. Some rooms have a beautiful view of the lake. The breakfast was fine with plenty of choices. There is an underground parking garage available.

Reception staff (Bastion) very helpful & explained where everything was (25 years since we last visited). We tried to have coffee & cake on the terrace but it was chaotic - far too many people & very few staff so after not being able to attract the attention of a waiter after 25 minutes of waiting, we gave up & went into the town. We did have an excellent dinner in the restaurant that evening though & staff there very attentive. We had a room with balcony & fabulous lake view but the room was very tired looking and towels very thin and not soft. Not sure if we will rush back.

Firstly the pro's: Staff are excellent - check in and out was very good both the check in lady and check out lady were professional and friendly. Bar staff - again excellent and friendly And of course Location location location - unbeatable. Con's - and these are minor- room was a bit dated (wellness room) and furniture could do with an overhaul. No mini bar but a fridge so you could stock yourself. And no in room iron / ironing board. But these are minor quibbles All in all highly recommended

We have been again on an explanatory trip. Spontaneously chose that hotel. Superior room with lake view and balcony. Access to hotel and check in : You have to drive through with narrow streets and many pedestrians As we take care of sustainability we drive with an electric car. You can park in front of the hotel entrance and someone will come to park your car. But if you need to charge your car they offer prices to do so I have never experienced in Europe. So we parked “in a normal place without charging option “ Room: You have an entrance for leaving your jackets and shoes. Then kind of a gallery approach you go up in the stairs where you have your bed. Bathroom and balcony. Room was not cleaned well. We even found dirty socks in the balcony. Not a full lake view and next to the train rail where you hear every noise possible. Shower. Water does not drain. Only shower gel. No shampoo. No conditioner As we always do we have a feedback immediately and the told next day we can talk with the manager. Did so and we got a much better option. Restaurant: Kitchen is “ok” though we had some issues with meals were over salted or not well cooked. Service is much below average. I have booked a romantic dinner table. That have forgotten and we got that next day only. Appreciate that they listen to the feedback and try to correct. Though. We will not come back again.

What a truly magical hotel! From the location, to the rooms, to the food, to the staff, to the facilities - it's absolutely amazing! We were truly sad to leave. We opted for a lake view room with a balcony and it did not disappoint. The room was huge, as was the bathroom. Everything was so clean and well cared for. We had a half board option and have to say the food was sublime! Every single dish was amazing and credit needs to go to the chefs and staff.
