Best Hotels in Zollikon, Switzerland

Good value in a great location. We walked from the train station. Enjoyed an excellent breakfast while watching pedestrians and cyclists making their way to work and school. The beds were comfortable, the shower was hot and strong. The young man who checked us in was 5 star. Definitely recommend.

Where can I start? Firstly the hotel advertises that there is parking available, please we aware that unless you’re going to leave your car in a space up the road (not designated for the accommodation), then there is NOT parking available in the sense you’d expect it to be. Any space that appears to be on site has signs about not leaving the car with threats of towing your car. We ended up parking in the city centre for 40CHF a night. We did expect cheap and cheerful but this was not cheerful. When we went in, the apartment didn’t appear very clean, and on opening the fridge door there was leftover food in there (including fish, which my partner has an anaphylactic allergy too, although that part isn’t their fault, it just added insult). The kitchen cleaning sponge and towels were dirty. The hairdryer was broken and dangerous to use. The shower screen was broken. The toilet brush had hair left on it. The curtains were stained. There were more issues but if I mentioned them I’d just be sounding petty. Finally, the king size bed only had a single sheet. We sent an email and in all fairness they did remove the leftover food, replace the towel, bin the dirty sponge, “fix” the shower screen (it was a bodge job and will break again soon im sure), and replace the shower head (something we’d not complained about?!) When looking for somewhere to stay in Zurich we narrowed our search down by looking for somewhere with parking. We thought the cheaper price would be as it was out of the city centre, and relatively basic, not dirty. I would recommend you avoid this, or only book if you have very low expectations.

We arrived a day early for our tour and didn’t think our room would be available yet, but the front staff asked for 15 minutes to check with house keeping. We lucked out and our rooms were available early. 300ish room courtyard side which is only one floor up. Bit of noise from the other side of the hotel due to construction, but not noticeable in our room. Great air con or use the large windows. Shower very hot so you don’t need to set it too high. Bit more modern than my taste, but grows on you and not garish colours. Easy tram ride to the old town for site seeing or take a stroll along the river beside the part. Wonderful gardens. Breakfast is plentiful and can be chaos in the morning when there are three groups in the hotel. Suggestion: Move the centre aisle of tables half a foot to the left so the the aisle on the right when you face the food is a bit larger. Use the first table on the right for the bowls and plates. Helps out those that are shorter. The people flow is better when it is right to left since the coffee machines are on the left. We did this flow the last day in the hotel with our group and it was less congested at the coffee.

Auf keinen Fall würde ich je jemandem dieses Hotel zumuten. Der Preis ist günstig, ja, aber davon sollte man sich nicht locken lassen und lieber ein paar Franken mehr ausgeben. Die Lüftung war so laut dass kein Gespräch mehr geführt werden konnte. An den Wänden waren Blutspuren (????), im WC waren Kotspuren, die Türgriffe wurden wohl noch nie geputzt da sie klebrig und schmutzig waren, es gab keine Handseife, das Bett war kaputt (Kopfteil war tiefer als Fussteil), Nachttische gab es keine und das Bett war wohl nicht frisch bezogen. Der Boden war dreckig und die Haupttür hatte gar kein Schloss sodass jederzeit jeder sich in dem Gebäude aufhalten konnte. Zudem wurde durch die Lüftung ein starker ********geruch und später auch ein starker Zigarrengeruch ins Zimmer geblasen, der den aufdringlichen Thaiessengeruch, der vorgängig im Zimmer herrschte, sogar fast überdeckte. Es gibt kein Personal im Hotel welches man ansprechen kann. Der Lift wirkte nicht sicher, einige Knöpfe schienen nicht zu funktionkeren. Wir haben uns nach kurzem 15 minütigen Aufenthalt dazu entschieden, nicht in diesem Zimmer zu schlafen. Zum Glück ist das auschecken genau so unkompliziert wie das einchecken, sodass wir den Schlüssel einfach nur in die check-out Box werfen konnten und gehen konnten. Dieses ”Hotel” sollte direkt geschlossen werden.

The house is spacious and has all the kitchen utensils. It is very convenient. However, there is no air conditioning and the windows cannot be opened. It is quite hot in summer.

The hotel is wonderful in many aspects. The interesting thing is that it is located in Walliselen, just right next to Glatt Zentrum shopping department store. The hotel offers air-conditioned rooms and free WiFi access throughout the property. The Internet speed is fast. With the modern electric tram, not only the bus, brings me to reach the city center of Zurich and the Main Train Station in short time. In the room, it provides a flat-screen cable TV, a desk, and a bathroom with shower. At lobby area, I noticed that guests can also enjoy the food corner. There is a vending machines there. When need anything, the 24-hour front reception always is there. Very helpful staffs. I also would like to mention the General manager, Mr. Frank Trapa. He is very friendly. I’ve never been so disappointed in my entire life. Today is Christmas Eve also the date of our check in at Five, in Zurich. When we arrived there was no one to help with our luggage or valet our vehicle. So we drove away from the front of the building and proceeded to park in public parking. We carry our three checked bags and our carry ons up a hill and all the way to the lobby, for the valet attendant to finally help us with our luggage and when I mean help I loaded in on the trolly and started pushing it and he kinda of just came and took over after I was already in the building and at the reception desk. After checking in we proceeded to our room, I went to get into the shower after a long day of travel and noticed the shower wasn’t draining and the bathroom was flooding. So we called and they said they were sending someone up. After about 45 minutes and three phone calls someone finally arrived. After they messed with the drain for 15 minutes they told us we needed a new room. So now we have to wait for someone to come and bring us to our new room as they requested. They told us they already check out the room/bathroom and everything was ok. Well it wasn't, this time the shower head was spraying water all over the ceiling and of course now they have to move us to a new room again. This all took about 3 hours which completely wasted our night and our Christmas Eve, I would expect that after all this they would at least would at least buy us a dinner or put us in a better room but nothing, not even a sorry from the front desk for this horrible inconvenience on Christmas Eve. They finally room they gave us didn’t even have conditioner or an outlet for the blow dryer for my fiancé to finally shower in the 3rd same level room.

Super value hotel with free parking and rich breakfast. Very close to downtown airport.

The hotel is near the motorway and the bus (towards) is a time relatively fast in the city. Parking is sufficiently available on the left and right side of the hotel (to my mind). The lobby is relatively small but also shares the rooms with the ”Boom” restaurant, where breakfast can be taken. Although the rooms are easily furnished, But sufficiently large and very clean. Wi-Fi is amazingly fast for a hotel of this class. Although there is no air conditioning, but when you take the rooms with view to the street / tanker, it is not too hot in the summer. Also, you shouldn't take the top floor. Rooms at the end of the gang are quieter. In the (rapid) TV you can find enough channels for any taste. There is a small work area in the rooms with some sticks and room for notebook and a few documents. The staff at the reception is friendly, helpful and can provide further information. You can also buy tickets for the public transportation. Breakfast is possible from about 5:30 (under the week). I felt the room as relatively quiet. Even from the street, there was little more of it later evening, so I could sleep wonderfully with open window. From the price-performance ratio, the hotel - right in the Zürich room - is very cheap.

Hotel in a good location for the centre and well served by public means. The stop of the tram is right in front of the hotel. The staff is very friendly and the rooms clean as well as the comfort are excellent. Breakfast is also good.
