Introduction Fall Foliage Sightseeing in Guangyuan

Introduction
Some information may have been translated by Google Translate

The autumn breeze blows gently, and the land of Guangyuan is sketched into a colorful scroll by the magical painter of nature. The red leaf viewing period in Guangyuan City is mainly concentrated from October to November every year. The red leaves here are extremely widely distributed, from the continuous mountains to the deep canyons. With the changes in altitude, temperature and humidity, the colors of the red leaves also show rich gradient changes, with green, yellow, orange and red interweaving, decorating the mountains and forests like a poem.

The red leaf landscape of Tangjiahe is characterized by its original ecology and diversity. There are not only abundant red leaf tree species here, but also clear streams, steep peaks and dense forests. The red leaf landscape of Jianmenguan is more famous for Cuiping Peak. After the beginning of autumn, the frost leaves on the mountain are like flames, and the forests are dyed red and green, which contrasts with the green pines and cypresses, making the colors colorful. Standing at the height of Jianmen Pass and looking down, the red leaves are like fire, which is spectacular.

The fusion of red leaves, ancient Shu culture, and natural landscapes makes the autumn in Guangyuan a double feast of vision and humanity.

Tangjiahe Travel Guide: Coolness, Wild Fun, and Family Trips All in One!

Tangjiahe Travel Guide: Coolness, Wild Fun, and Family Trips All in One!

Explore Tangjiahe: A Refreshing and Magical Journey Encountering Wildlife Are you still troubled by having nowhere to go during the scorching summer? Do you long for a wonderful trip that lets you get close to nature and encounter wild animals? Then today, I must recommend an excellent summer resort—Tangjiahe Scenic Area on Tangqing Line, Qingxi Town, Qingchuan County, Guangyuan City, Sichuan Province! This place is truly a treasure gifted by nature, an ideal choice to escape the summer heat and embrace coolness. Tickets and Transportation: A Cost-Effective Cool Date The ticket price for Tangjiahe Scenic Area is very affordable. During peak season, an adult ticket costs 55 yuan per person, and the sightseeing bus shuttle is 30 yuan per person, allowing you to enjoy the entire scenic area. Moreover, it is said that during the hottest times, tickets are half price! This cost performance is simply unbeatable, a blessing for those on a budget who still want to enjoy a high-quality trip. After entering the scenic area, the sightseeing bus will take you through the mountains and forests, starting a unique exploration journey. Sitting on the sightseeing bus, the breeze brushes your face, blowing away the summer heat and instantly immersing you in this cool atmosphere. The route of the sightseeing bus is well designed, passing many beautiful spots along the way, and you can get off anytime to experience the charm of nature up close. Wildlife Encounters: Start a Mysterious Natural Exploration Tangjiahe Scenic Area is a paradise for wild animals, home to various rare species. When you ride the sightseeing bus through the mountains, you might unexpectedly meet adorable wild monkeys. These monkeys are lively and active, sometimes climbing on branches, sometimes curiously staring at the food in your hand, their clever little eyes simply melting your heart. Besides monkeys, if you’re lucky, you might also see animals like wild sheep leisurely foraging in the mountains. Imagine, in the lush green forest, suddenly a few lively wild sheep appear, like spirits of the forest, adding vitality and energy to this peaceful nature. Unfortunately, I didn’t see the national treasure giant panda during this trip. Locals said that in summer, pandas might hide because of the heat, while in winter many animals come down the mountain, making it easier to spot them. It seems that to catch a glimpse of the giant panda, you need to come back in the right season. But this also plants a seed of anticipation for my next trip—maybe next time I can have a close encounter with the cute panda cubs! Rainy and Sunny Scenery: Different Natural Paintings When I visited, it happened to be raining. I originally planned to see more animals on the mountain, but halfway up it started pouring, so I had to hurry down with my two kids. Although a bit disappointing, Tangjiahe in the rain has its own unique charm. Raindrops hitting the leaves make a rustling sound, like a beautiful symphony performed by nature. The mist swirling in the mountains makes the whole scenic area look like a fairyland, dreamy and magical. Locals told me that the scenery is even more beautiful on sunny days. Sunlight shines through the forest, creating patches of golden light that contrast with the green leaves, a breathtaking sight. Standing on the mountaintop, overlooking the entire scenic area, the continuous mountain ranges, clear streams, and dense forests are all in view, making one marvel at nature’s craftsmanship. Hiking Exploration: Measure the Charm of Nature with Your Steps Tangjiahe Scenic Area is perfect for spending more time and treating it as a hiking trip. Walking along the mountain trails, you can breathe in fresh air and feel nature’s embrace. The air here is like a natural air purifier, every breath full of negative ions, refreshing your mind and body. During the hike, you will encounter various plants, some rare species you’ve never seen before. You can carefully observe their shapes and colors, learn about their growth habits, as if you are in a natural plant museum. Moreover, hiking allows you to deeply feel the charm of this land and discover some hidden beautiful spots. However, the hiking route might be long and requires some physical strength. But when you see those beautiful sceneries and brush past wild animals, all fatigue will vanish. So bring your family and friends, embark on this hiking exploration, and measure the natural charm of Tangjiahe with your steps! An Excellent Choice for Family Trips: Spend Happy Times with Your Kids Tangjiahe Scenic Area is very suitable for bringing children. For kids, this place is like a fairy tale world full of surprises. They can run and play in the mountains, get close to nature, and learn about various wild animals. When they see monkeys, they get excited and dance with joy; when they hear animal legends, they ask questions full of curiosity. During the hike, you can observe plants and look for animal traces with your children, cultivating their observation and exploration spirit. Also, the environment in the scenic area is safe and comfortable, so kids can play freely without worries. Spending joyful time with your children in Tangjiahe not only enhances parent-child relationships but also lets kids learn and grow in nature. Travel Tips: Make Your Trip More Perfect 1. Clothing: Since the temperature in the scenic area is relatively low, even in summer, it’s recommended to bring a light jacket to prevent catching a cold. Also, wear comfortable sports shoes for hiking. 2. Rain Gear: The weather is changeable and it may rain anytime, so be sure to bring rain gear to avoid getting soaked. 3. Food and Water: Although there are some snack stalls in the scenic area, it’s recommended to bring your own food and water, especially during hiking, to replenish energy in time. 4. Respect Wildlife: When interacting with wild animals, keep a safe distance, do not feed or disturb them, and respect their natural habits. Tangjiahe Scenic Area, a place full of mystery and surprises, is like a never-ending natural encyclopedia waiting for you to explore and discover. Whether you want to escape the heat, have a close encounter with wild animals, or spend joyful time with family and friends, this place can meet your needs. Next time, why not find a suitable time, pack your bags, and start your own refreshing journey in Tangjiahe? I believe you will definitely fall in love with this beautiful land.

The night view of the ancient city is also a highlight. Walking around after dinner with a slight breeze is really enjoyable. Tangjiahe River Rafting: A Water Adventure in a Pristine Forest

Tangjiahe River Rafting is located deep within the primeval forests of Sichuan, often referred to as a "natural oxygen bar," making it an ideal escape from the hustle and bustle of city life. The river stretches over ten kilometers, with crystal-clear waters. Along the way, towering ancient trees and soaring birds create a picturesque landscape that feels like stepping into a traditional Chinese painting. The rubber rafts move with the river's flow, alternating between thrilling rapids and calm stretches where you can fully immerse yourself in the serene beauty of the forest. What makes Tangjiahe truly special is its role as a habitat for giant pandas and golden monkeys. While sightings are not guaranteed, the mere thought of sharing the same sky with these rare creatures is awe-inspiring. On a summer afternoon, drifting along the Tangjiahe River with cool breezes and splashes of water offers a refreshing escape from the heat. This is more than just a rafting experience—it's a profound journey of connection with nature.

Vientiane | The Winter Song of Guangyuan

Vientiane | The Winter Song of Guangyuan

When the wind from the Qinling Mountains sweeps across the mighty Jianmen Pass, and the Jialing River carries the lake's light as it flows, the mountains of Guangyuan shed their green and don the splendid attire of autumn and winter. Thus, the mountains and waters begin a new song. Every year from October to November, the hills are covered with red leaves like rosy clouds and blazing fire, turning northern Sichuan into a moving oil painting, inviting guests from all directions to a romantic rendezvous. Colorful Tree Species Paint an Ecological Picture The unique mountain climate and altitude differences have nurtured Guangyuan’s rich red leaf resources. Over 400 species of trees such as water oak, maple, Chinese tallow, and lacquer tree grow in staggered layers, forming a sea of colors with clear layers: high-altitude red leaves first dye the peaks, like a spilled rouge box; mid-mountain slopes blend orange-red, bright red, and deep red, resembling Danxia landforms cascading over the mountains; walking through the mountains, soft fallen leaves cover the ground, accompanied by red leaves, under a clear blue sky, with autumn sunlight filtering through branches casting mottled shadows, and the air filled with the sweet scent of pine needles and wild fruits. The red leaves complement cultural landscapes: beside the Jianmen Shu Road, red leaves reflect ancient cypresses, as if echoing the sound of Zhuge Liang’s northern expedition horses; outside Qingxi Ancient Town, red leaves surround Ming and Qing dynasty residences, with Hanfu-clad visitors strolling between blue tiles and white walls, as if traveling through a thousand years; in the Tangjiahe Nature Reserve, golden monkeys and takins occasionally appear among the red leaves, showcasing the harmony between humans and nature. The ancient verse "Frost leaves are redder than the flowers of February" vividly describes this place. Red Leaves as a Medium to Activate Cultural Tourism and Increase Income As an important ecological barrier in the upper Yangtze River, Guangyuan adheres to ecological priority and green development, making the red leaf scenery even more magnificent. In recent years, counties and districts have used red leaves as a medium to create cultural tourism brands such as the Tangjiahe Red Leaf Season and "Red Wanchang, Colorful Micang," improving transportation and accommodation facilities to bring the "hidden red leaves" to the public. Every autumn and winter, self-driving tourists enjoy red leaves carpeting the winding mountain roads, hikers climb high to take in the "forests dyed in layers," and photographers capture the charm of red leaves in morning dew and evening glow. Red leaves attract visitors, and industries promote income growth. "When the Tangjiahe red leaves turn red, the rooms at farm stays are fully booked early, busy from morning till night!" said Zhong Yuanhui, owner of a farm stay in Yinping Village, Qingxi Town, Qingchuan County, with a smile. Currently, Tangjiahe has driven more than 20,000 people in five surrounding townships to engage in tourism and agricultural product supply, with over 5,000 Qingxi Town residents benefiting from the "tourism bowl." After the red leaves in Wanchang Micang Mountain reach their peak, daily visitor numbers have exceeded 23,000, with over 500,000 visitors cumulatively, surrounding businesses’ revenue increasing 2 to 3 times, local specialty sales rising by more than 50%, over 2,000 villagers employed nearby, and average household income increasing by more than 5,000 yuan. "A single red leaf" has turned into "a string of gold and silver." The Entire Region’s Red Charm Unfolds the Splendid Shu Road Scenery Today in Guangyuan, red leaf scenery blooms throughout the region: Wanchang Yanjinghe Canyon, Qingchuan Tangjiahe, Cangxi Sanxikou National Forest Park, Jiange Jianmen Seventy-two Peaks, Lizhou Yueba Near Yue Lake, Zhaohua Niutoushan, Chaotian Zengjiashan, and other places are ablaze with red leaves. Guangyuan’s red leaves are a masterpiece of nature, a vivid carrier of historical culture, and a lively witness to ecological development. This passionate, profound, and hopeful red decorates the autumn colors of the Shu Road and ignites the people’s yearning for a better life. Take advantage of the perfect time to visit Guangyuan to admire the red leaves, tour the mountains and waters, and experience the unique autumn charm and style of northern Sichuan.

Muslim Ancient City—Qingxi

Muslim Ancient City—Qingxi

Qingxi Ancient City is located in the western part of Qingchuan, Sichuan, at the foot of Motian Ridge on the southern slope of the Min Mountains. It is surrounded by the Qingzhu River and Nanwei River, forming the "Two Dragons Playing with a Pearl" landform, 59 kilometers from the county seat. The city was first built in the seventh year of Jianxing during the Shu Han period of the Three Kingdoms (229 AD), supervised by Liao Hua for military farming. In the fourth year of the Hongwu reign of the Ming Dynasty (1371), it was expanded into a wengcheng (urn city) military fortress. The main Ming Dynasty city walls and the cross-shaped stone slab streets still remain. Before 1951, it served as the seat of Qingchuan County. The ancient city preserves the Ming Dynasty city layout and the Ming and Qing architectural groups of northern Sichuan. It features attractions such as the wengcheng city gate, Islamic-style painted pavilions, and Yinping covered bridge. Outside the city are the "Eight Scenic Spots of Qingxi." In 2013, it was rated a national AAAA-level tourist attraction, and in 2020, it was selected as a Sichuan Province cultural tourism characteristic town.

Treasure Attraction - Tangjiahe

Treasure Attraction - Tangjiahe

I haven't truly felt nature in a long time, until I came to Tangjiahe... My foreign teacher Jack told me how wonderful Tangjiahe is, and I was surprised. Only then did I realize that Tangjiahe is so yearned for by international friends, and I, as a Sichuan girl, had yet to know about it. Out of curiosity, I chose Guangyuan-Qingchuan as the destination for this spring outing. Chengdu to Guangyuan Qingchuan, a high-speed train takes only one and a half hours. Upon arriving in Qingchuan, I rented a car and continued driving into the mountains. First, I arrived at Qingxi Ancient Town, where the scenic area's guide said that this was already the entrance to the Tangjiahe tourist area. First stop: Qingxi Ancient Town The special thing about this place is: The Yamen - The Yamen really surprised me. It turns out that the public hall is in the front, followed by the backyard of the county master's office, and then the back courtyard of the county officials. While visiting here, I couldn't help but exclaim, haha, it turns out that I didn't understand the historical dramas. The City Wall - Walking on the city wall, you can overlook the entire town, and it seems as if the prosperity of the years and history has re-emerged before my eyes. It is said that during holidays, there will be patrolling soldiers here, allowing everyone to more vividly feel the majesty of guarding the city walls in the past. The Tea Horse Road - This museum is right below the city wall and was a resting place for merchants in the past. The Mosque - It's worth mentioning that next to this ancient city wall, there is a mosque with an exotic design that is particularly eye-catching and well-preserved, and it is still in use today. Therefore, in Qingxi Ancient Town, seeing such a fusion of ancient architecture and ethnic architecture makes the integration of the villagers here even stronger. I stayed quietly in the ancient town for one night, and the next day I went to Tangjiahe. Second stop: Tangjiahe It was this trip to Tangjiahe that gave me a sense of relaxation and the inevitable thought of bringing my family here again. Entering the scenic area of Tangjiahe, you cannot carry fireworks, which gives a strong sense of ceremony. The sightseeing car drove along, and the guide said that if we were lucky, we might encounter wild animals. I just took it as a casual remark. But when I saw the twist-horned antelope, I was instantly excited because, you know, this is not an animal you see in a zoo, this creature is very unfamiliar to you, with a very peculiar appearance. In its demeanor, you don't see panic, nor pleading, nor fear, but the equality of life. Suddenly, I understood why the slogan of Tangjiahe is: Tangjiahe - the world as it originally was. Afterward, we saw many small animals, including monkeys🐒, raccoons🦝, deer, birds whose names I knew and didn't know, and the palette of spring waved before my eyes. Passing through the Cercis Valley, there was a bit more romance here. Clusters of pink and purple made the entire valley seem like it was in a sweet romance. Along the way, I also met a few girls in Hanfu, with their clothes fluttering elegantly, blending into the sea of Cercis flowers, which was very beautiful. This trip was a complete relaxation that came from a journey immersed in nature. Tangjiahe, this treasure of a place, is indeed worth revisiting.
