Conquering Mount Kinabalu!

Climbing Mount Kinabalu was a test of both physical and mental strength that I will never forget. From the very beginning, the odds seemed stacked against me. The flu had left me feeling weak and fatigued, and as I ascended higher, the symptoms worsened. AMS with its nausea and dizziness, added another layer of difficulty. Not being the fittest person in the group, I often lagged behind, struggling to keep up with my buddies. The steep and rocky terrain of the mountain was relentless, demanding endurance and determination I didnt know I possessed. Every step was a struggle, but I was determined to push through. Despite the hardships, the breathtaking views and the camaraderie with the fellow buddies kept me going. The sunrise from the summit was a reward beyond words, and the sense of accomplishment was overwhelming. My climb up Mount Kinabalu was far from easy. However, it taught me that determination and sheer willpower can overcome even the most challenging cicumstances. It was an experience that tested my limits and left me with a profound sense of achievement and appreciation for the beauty of the natural world. #adventure #hiking #mountain #mountkinabalu

**"Conquering Mount Kinabalu: A Rewarding Challenge"**

#hikingtime Hiking Mount Kinabalu was an unforgettable adventure. The two-day trek was both exhilarating and challenging. The ascent through lush forests and across rugged terrain was visually stunning, with each turn offering new, breathtaking views. Reaching the summit at sunrise was a highlight—seeing the first light break over the horizon was truly magical. However, the hike was physically demanding. I struggled with altitude sickness, which made the higher elevations particularly tough. The weather also tested my resolve; cold temperatures and strong winds added to the challenge. Despite the difficulties and the high cost of permits and guides, the sense of achievement upon reaching the top made every effort worthwhile.

Mt. Kinabalu - The highest mountain in Borneo and Malaysia ⛰️ Its my second time climbed Akinabalu and I still cant get over how breathtaking and beautiful the scenery was 🤎 We started at Timpohon gate and climbed to the resthouse (Panalaban) which was around 6km uphill hike. took me 5 hours 🤣 After we had a good rest, at 1:30am we continued to climb from resthouse to Sayat-Sayat checkpoint (arrived around 4am) and then to the summit (arrived 6am). get enough training and it will be easier to climb 🤭 Take your time and enjoy the view. After the climb, you will surely gonna miss it and might repeat again #mountkinabalu 😎

Kota Kinabalu! Highly recommended!!!

Kota Kinabalu! Highly recommended!!!

✔️ Most hotels and restaurants are located near Gaya Street, or you can stay at Shangri-La Hotel, which is conveniently located near these two places. ✔️ It's the off-season in Kota Kinabalu, so there aren't many people even on weekends. You don't need to queue at attractions or restaurants. The cost for a 3-day, 2-night trip is less than MYR 3,000. Go for it! ✔️ The sea view here is very weather-dependent. It's really beautiful on sunny days. ✔️ The temperature is around 25 to 30 degrees Celsius, which is very comfortable. However, it can be windy sometimes, so remember to wear sunscreen and sunglasses! ✔️ Most attractions are located in and around the city, and are quite close to each other. A one-day tour can be a bit rushed, but a two-day, one-night weekend tour is more relaxing. ✔️ You can join a tour group! There are many one-day tours to choose from, such as the mangrove forest, Mantanani Island, or Mount Kinabalu. ✔️ Watch the sunset ▪️ Tanjung Aru Beach: You can take photos of the sunset with reefs, beaches, waves, and distant mountains. ▪️ Shangri-La Hotel Beach: The sunset here is as beautiful as Tanjung Aru Beach, and the photos are stunning. ✔️ Must-see attractions Mangrove forest (fireflies, sunset, and proboscis monkeys are not to be missed) Tanjung Aru Beach (the coastal road is also beautiful) Kinabalu Park Mantanani Island (island hopping, scuba diving, and snorkeling) Tanjung Aru sunset paddleboarding Gaya Street Night Market

⛰️ Mount Kinabalu Adventures: Part 2

#wecreate 🚶‍♀️Mt Kinabalu is one of the highest mountains in South East Asia. It is a 2D1N hike which requires high stamina and proper training before you attempt to conquer the mountain. 🌄 Day 2 of my climb started at 2am, with a light breakfast consisting of toast & eggs. The entire hike up was in the dark, accompanied by your torchlight. If you turn around and look back, you will get an awesome view of A Sky Full of Stars (literally) and the far away glow of city lights. 03:00 - Started the 2nd half from Laban Rata Camp (KM6.0) 05:00 - Reached Sayat-sayat checkpoint (KM7.0). 08:00 - Low's Peak! (Summit 4095M) Summit was beautiful and the views were breathtaking! My only regret is not being well equipped with proper attire to withstand the strong winds and cold temperature. 🥶 💡 For those who are afraid of heights, it's better to get yourself mentally prepared before you attempt this part of the hike. Also, keep in mind that it is a relatively safe hike, but there is only a single white rope to guide you up the rocky surfaces with no extra safety harness. Be prepared to be challenged mentally and physically. Also, you will need a thick jacket, and perhaps a pair of Kampung Adidas 😆 #mountkinabalu #kinabalunationalpark #sabah #hiking #nationalpark #malaysia
