Varkala Palace is a delightful homestay – a tranquil retreat boasting well-maintained, excellent rooms. The peaceful ambiance is commendable. However, the absence of food services, even for essentials like coffee, tea, and breakfast, is a notable drawback. The overall experience is slightly marred by the lack of dining options. Despite this, it stands out as a bit expensive for what it offers.

Sutta is located towards the south and quieter side of the varkala coast. Booking and check in was a very smooth experience. The manager navneet ***** with faiz is always ready to help and willing to go the distance with all requests. The double deluxe was very spacious and comfortable with a proper dry and wet area in the bathroom. A lovely little balcony which is sea facing. The room is optimally equipped with basic necessities and clean sheets, towels and mats placed. The lighting is also very well done. The varkala cliff is a 10 mins drive or 25 mins walk. However the oddayam beach is just a 3 min walk. You walk out turn left and go down to the beach. And this beach is always less crowded than any other beaches with about 6-7 foot waves for surfers. They also have a swimming pool within the premises which is a very pleasant addition. The mangroves are a 30 mins drive and jatayu earths centre is again 30 mins by drive. We thank the owner andre who we met for just 5 mins but was very interesting to talk to. Overall a fantastic experience because of which i extended my stay too! thank you!

Our stay at Hindustan Beach Retreat in Varkala was a complete letdown. From start to finish, it was a mess. The people working there weren't helpful at all. The pool was so dirty we couldn't use it, and the beach view they promised was nowhere near as nice as they showed in the pictures. The food was terrible - some of it was even uncooked! They kept running out of stuff, and when they did have it, it took forever to get served. Housekeeping didn't care about our requests. We asked for bandages, and they said they'd bring them, but they never did. We had to go looking for them ourselves. The reception was a joke. There was hardly ever anyone there, so if you needed something, tough luck. And to top it off, they charged us way too much for simple things like a can of soft drink but they did not even compensate for the unavailable amenities we were promised and were included in the room charges. Overall, it was a disaster. We paid good money for 4 rooms with good view, which was supposed to be a great stay, but it turned out to be a total waste. Don't make the same mistake we did - steer clear of Hindustan Beach Retreat.

Having stayed here for 5 nights on a yoga retreat I was very impressed with the space. The rooms were clean & big, with fans & a balcony, mine led straight to the pool. I think most rooms had air conditions too if you need that. The beds were comfortable & large! I had a fridge & plenty of storage space. Nice bathroom too. Great rooftop for yoga, we also had delicious food made for us whilst we were here & the service was very good. The manager was very helpful & friendly, I would be happy to stay here again & the fact it had a pool & was so close to the beach was a bonus! Highly recommended for any kind of traveller.

The location is good and the hotel is just fine. Need some renovation around the path leading to beach. ***y opt for this location for ease of access to beaches, if that is not maintained it will lead to disappointment. The SPA is not per the expectation and the maintenance of the spa is very bad. Food is above average. The buffet breakfast is fine but lacks variety for those staying longer. Overall it was a good experience. The attender at the pool Mr. Babu is very good, he should be awarded for his fine service. Overall the hotel staff are polite and well ***nered and hear to our concerns.
