"We had an amazing time at Old Thorns Hotel & Resort celebrating my fiancé’s birthday weekend. The whole place is beautiful, the décor is stunning, with lovely pictures throughout that make it feel both homely and luxurious at the same time. The spa facilities and gym were excellent, and the young guy at the bar was especially friendly and made us some great drinks. The rooms were spacious, the showers were fantastic, and the golf course was beautiful and very well maintained. The only area I think could use a little improvement is the breakfast selection. There were fruits, bread, yoghurt, eggs, and the usual items for an English breakfast, but after staying more than one night, it would have been nice to have more variety such as pancakes or other breakfast options to switch things up a bit. I also paid extra for the birthday package. While I wasn’t expecting anything extravagant, it did feel a little misleading for the £15 charge, as it mainly included balloons, a very small teddy bear, some chocolates, and a card, which was exactly what was shown in the pictures. Other than that, everything was perfect and we had a wonderful stay."

"There seemed to be a lack of staff working when we arrived and it appeared to be one person doing everything, checking in, collecting our missing bedding, taking payments at the till / ‘shop’. She was working really hard. The rooms were clean and tidy lots of space for our family of four. Beds were comfortable. We went with our friends as a stop to chessington world of adventure, the £5 parking fee was not disclosed anywhere when booking. Today 14/04/2026 our friends received a parking fine of £100 even though they paid the parking fee. However this was dealt with quickly."

"Hi there! Happy to come back to stay another night in your spa hotel surrounded by beautiful landscape and sea. Been there in February and come back this time in April and definitely I’ll come back again next year. Jess from reception called me and told me that we forgot a flowery shirts and the options to get it back - very helpful and supportive. Thank you all and see you next year 😉"

"We stayed for a wedding, perfect location next to the station. Standout was the receptionist - super friendly and helpful, took our bags ahead of checking and allowed us to use the facilities to change for the wedding. Would recommend."

"The hotel's location is great, right in the outlet village. It's about a ten-minute walk from Portsmouth Harbour train station; just enter the outlet from the station. The staff were all very friendly, patient, and enthusiastic. The hotel offers free luggage storage. After booking on Trip.com, I was notified via email that the central air conditioning was still under repair. Upon check-in, they gave me a can of water. The hotel facilities are typical of an older budget hotel in China, quite dated. The price was a bit high. In the room, there was only shampoo, conditioner, and hand soap, which seems to be common in UK hotels. The room was clean and well-maintained, but there was no desk, only one chair, and no charging points near the bed. Breakfast was a standard continental spread, sufficient to fill you up. A pleasant surprise was finding a Whittard store downstairs where I bought my favorite fruit tea at a discounted price. Right outside the hotel, there's a Tesco supermarket, and opposite Tesco is a brunch spot. There are also several restaurants and cafes within the outlet village, making dining very convenient. From the outlet, it's about a fifteen-minute walk to the Mary Rose Museum, where you can see King Henry VIII's favorite warship, salvaged after more than 400 years at the bottom of the sea – a must-visit for history buffs!"

"Booked on the recommendation of a family member , 1st room on the ground floor was small, cold and had a broken window handle leaving the room unsecured.  We said to the reception staff who asked if we wanted moved , we moved to an ”upgraded” room on the top floor which was far better, as we were staying for 3 nights we welcomed the move.  Can’t comment on the leisure pool as we didn’t use it, given that we had paid for 3 night’s accommodation I don’t see why I would have to pay to use the pool and use towels!  Bar was ok but at times you have to wait for someone to come and serve, the bar also closed at 11pm regardless if you are staying or not. No automatic room service you have to ask for the room to be cleaned and fresh towels etc.  Many other hotels in the area so don’t think we would return"

"I spent an enjoyable two nights at the Crown Manor Park hotel. The location was perfect for discovering the New Forest. Check in was easy. My room was on the 1st floor facing the road, it had air con which was very welcome. The room had a welcome tray with biscuits,tea, coffee and hot chocolate. This was replenished on the second day.The bath room was quite small . It had a shower over the bath with shampoo and shower gel provided, lots of hot water. Two large bath towels were available. Breakfast was buffet style with a good selection of hot and cold food. Tea and coffee were served at the table. I would certainly stay here again."

"The hotel do not make it clear that you have to pay for the swimming pool each time you use it. When you have children who are expecting to swim, this is simply not good enough. When booking it clearly says there are leisure facilities, including a swimming pool. It was only when checking in that we were told you had to pay £5 per person! We booked a ‘golf view’ room. When we arrived in the room there was a view of a bush, tree and bins with golf buggies in the distance come the morning, hardly a golf view in our opinion. Very disappointed children who were excited to be able to see a fairway! Breakfast was massively understaffed. The two staff members working were working very hard but with a full hotel, there should have been more staff working. It took far too long for glasses to be topped up to use for juice and the pastries ran out and were not replaced in time for us to eat. All staff members were lovely and worked hard but I feel management need to act upon previous reviews. We were told that the golf view issue was historical and an issue with Trip and how they advertise but if this was the case, why had nothing been done to address it? We were offered a drinks voucher as compensation but we refused as we had already purchased our non-alcoholic drinks for the evening. Perhaps not the best offer for a family! We asked if we could have our swim paid for instead and were told no because the leisure facilities were separate to the hotel??"

"Extremely satisfied! The room was clean and hygienic, and the location was super convenient. Parking was a breeze too. There are plenty of restaurants nearby, so you don't have to walk far for meals. Getting to attractions by car was also very easy. Highly recommend!"
