The bus stop is just a 3-minute walk away, and the hotel is relatively new, located in a commercial area, making dining and shopping very convenient. The bathroom has a three-part design, but the room size is a bit small, making it difficult to open a 27-inch suitcase. The toiletries provided were not very comprehensive, good thing I brought my own. The air conditioning blowing directly onto the bed was also a minor issue.
Absolutely loved this hotel! It's nestled quietly on a hillside, directly facing Sakurajima, and we were incredibly lucky to witness the volcano erupting. The gentleman at the hotel entrance, dressed in an old-fashioned uniform, was so friendly. He saw us taking photos and specially came over to take a group picture for us, and it turned out great! The hotel offers various dining options and a convenience store. The breakfast, though, was the real highlight – easily one of the best quality breakfasts I've had in a Japanese hotel. The hot springs (onsen) were also wonderfully relaxing and fully equipped. Highly recommend!

They replaced towels, slippers, and coffee daily.
My booking included breakfast, and you could choose between Japanese and Western options. The Japanese breakfast even had Kagoshima Kurobuta pork hotpot, which was so filling I didn't need to eat again, allowing me to try more things later!
I preferred the Western breakfast; the coffee was good, and the toast was delicious. I ended up having Western breakfast two days in a row, and they also offered takeaway coffee packets and waffles, which was a nice touch!
I'll definitely stay here again when I go to Kagoshima and will recommend it to my friends!
This hotel is genuinely good. Even though the service industry in Japan generally maintains high standards, you can still feel a real sense of sincerity here. When I first checked in, it felt a bit dated, especially the elevator. The doors closed really fast, so you had to keep pressing the 'open' button. Several Japanese guests, being polite and letting others go first, ended up getting caught by the closing doors. The elevator also juddered when stopping at floors. Inside the room, the air conditioning wasn't warm enough, and I felt cold since the temperature had dropped.
Following my usual practice, I gave the hotel some feedback and expressed my dissatisfaction. After a few exchanges, I found that they were very willing to resolve the issues. Specifically, on the second day of my stay, there was a mix-up with the travel agent, and my dinner reservation wasn't made. I had actually paid for dinner on both the second and third nights. When I approached the front desk about the problem, it was already past 5 PM, and I wanted to have dinner at 6 PM, so time was really tight. After some internal discussion, the hotel decided that since I had paid, they would figure out a way for me to have my meal, and then they would sort out the issue with the travel agent themselves later.
At the time, I was quite upset and worried that a last-minute dinner might be subpar, as Japanese hotel restaurants usually prepare set meals in advance based on the number of guests. I also contacted Ctrip. The initial customer service representative had a rather indifferent attitude, but then another representative stepped in who was much more willing to please the customer, even offering compensation in the form of points. Customers understand that customer service reps also have tough jobs, but they still need to provide that emotional support, which is just how the market works. I also realized that in such situations, to get a meal, I still had to fight for my rights with the hotel myself, but I accepted Ctrip's small gesture of compensation.
Later, when I went to the restaurant, I saw that a set meal had indeed been arranged for me. While it was a bit rushed and didn't have as much variety as other hotels, the portion size was generous, and the staff's service attitude was absolutely delightful. So, I didn't raise any more concerns.
Overall, the hotel staff were truly dedicated to providing good service. The aging facilities are just something that can't be helped, and it's already one of the most prestigious hotels in the area, hosting many annual company parties and coming-of-age ceremonies. Despite some negative news, Ctrip remains the most user-friendly app. I travel frequently and often switch between different apps, but I always find Ctrip to be the most convenient. I hope Ctrip's service quality doesn't decline during this economic downturn.
We ended up in a magnificent corner room with a view of Sakurajima - possibly the best room in the hotel - but only after a struggle. On arrival, we were told that our Standard King room was double-booked and we would have to move after one night to a smaller room. The hotel blamed the mix-up on Trip.com. Since we had booked almost two months prior and had arrived first, this didn't wash. We pressed our claim and the result was good. A lovely, modern room with exceptional facilities - including a private sauna - and magnificent view.
But it speaks poorly of the hotel's customer service that it took some determined push-back to achieve this result. The hotel's initial attitude was that the we should lose out over a mix-up that had nothing to do with us. A first-rate place, if you can trust the booking.
The biggest plus is the fantastic location, right opposite the JR station, making shopping super convenient. The view from the window is also great, you can even see the Ferris wheel 🎡.
On the downside, the room is really tiny. It's a 17-square-meter room with the bed pushed against the wall, and there's no space to even open a suitcase. Plus, the bathroom had a slight odor.

The hotel is excellent, with great service and comfortable, well-designed rooms. It's affordable and in a good location, with plenty of dining options nearby. Although the hotel is small, it has everything you need. It's a bit of a walk to Kagoshima-Chuo Station, but you can take the tram. Plus, there are lots of great places to eat right around the hotel.
The selection of the amenity was great. Hair iron set up in the room were very useful. Express checkout Kiosk was convenient. Location was also great, the airport bus arrives/departs right in front of the hotel.
I like this hotel. I've stayed here for 2 times. They provide a free transfer from and to Railway station and a city centre. Very good onsen with a scenic view on Sakurajima. You can also rent a bike here in the hotel for a reasonable price. Convenience store is right by the hotel.

There's a tram stop right outside the hotel, but for places like the aquarium and Sakurajima ferry terminal, it's a bit more convenient to take a taxi (around 1,000 yen, very close).
On the day we left, the sun finally came out, and we got to enjoy a beautiful view of Sakurajima right from our room!

明明明仔Stayed one night at the Kirishima Mountain La Vista Hotel, the environment is quiet, the front desk and restaurant staff are enthusiastic and polite, in addition to the public baths there are three private soups, no reservation, no one can use the reservation.
After registration at the front desk, you can also enjoy a welcome drink, plum or other Japanese sake, and you can have coffee and tea with unlimited refills.
There is also a private open-air bath in the room where you can soak in a hot spring. The hot spring water is very hot, so be careful.
Enjoy Italian cuisine at the restaurant on the night of your stay, six courses are very delicious, and ramen for supper from 10pm to 11pm.
Breakfast the next morning was also very rich.
This stay was a very good experience and would choose to stay here if there is a next time.

The location is perfect, with a bus stop right outside the hotel, making it very easy to get anywhere in the city quickly and efficiently.

We booked the corner room. The room was well illuminated by natural light during the day and we could see the river from our room. At night we could even hear the water flowing. There were two western single beds but we asked for futons for the full Japanese experience and loved it! The room was spacious and clean. There was a bathtub in the bathroom but we used the public bath (male and female separated) which was amazing. The public bath was quiet and spacious and there was a sauna room. Breakfast was served during 7am -830am with a well set table as shown in the picture. The staff was super kind. Just note that the walls were thin and you should expect some noise but people here are generally used to keeping their voice down.
Another highlight is that you can take the bus of both the red and blue lines at the bus stop right in front of the hotel. (The blue line is for Shiratani Unsuikyo.). It is very convenient if you are not driving. The hotel is around 25 mins away from the ferry port and the walk there was pleasant and not difficult to find.
Yet another great thing about this place is that you can rent mountaineering gear here at a cheap price, including shoes and rain protection. We rented the shoes here at 1,xxx yen per person (forgot the exact price) and they were very useful. It was raining for almost the whole 5h hike for us and the shoes offered a good grip and were sufficiently waterproof. You can also find little souvenirs at their shop. Honestly, it's impeccable!

The real ”could be better” thing to me is, the restaurant that close really early (8.30pm if my memory is good), does server only buffet for 80kY.
The buffet is of quality mixing Japanese, Chinese and Western styles of food. And also comes with nice desserts.
However, having the choice to get only one A la carte dish could be a real plus. I personally do not want to get a full buffet for every and each of my diners.
And if you do not have a car, finding another place to eat may become a challenge. There is nothing around at a walking distance except a supermarket.
The breakfast is definitely qualitative. And if you intend to move early for visiting, the hotel can prepare you a breakfast and a lunch box for no overcharge. Basic but good and appreciated.
To have another plus, they serves a local craft beer made with local cedar trees. Quite a good and interesting one.

(^_^;) However, since it's a new hotel, the facilities were clean and that was a plus. I think they should add more Japanese-style dishes and Kagoshima-style 'obanzai' (small side dishes) to the breakfast. Pho is definitely not needed.
