Might have over expectation for this hotel.
Check in late that night after late dinner.
Bathroom water heater was not working, maintenance team came over spent an hour and didn’t fixed. Was told to leave the shower tap and basin tap open for 30-40mins, still warm/hot water are not available for shower. Didn’t manage to get to change my room due to hotel was full that day. Room 16-46
So end up that night, shower with cold water.
Toilet seat was dirty too. 🥲
Overall clean, but some hidden areas are dirty.

Excellent hotel, very clean, friendly and respectful staffs, comfy, and they are quick response. Free guest specialized parking inside the gate. Recommended for those who want great hotel experience without breaking the bank. Although towel is new therefore not absorbing enough, it is only small matter compared to overall experience. Definitely I will repeat booking in the future. Thank you and keep up the good job.

Fuss free, great location, spacious room, clean hotel. Enjoyed the stay here. Nice buffet breakfast, international spread. Only traffic outside was bad during certain hours. Otherwise, we had a great lovely stay here. Managed to visit the monday pasar malam nearby.
We had a pleasant stay. Hotel is new and clean. There are snacks, coffee and water cooler in the pantry area. Well located near eateries and Sunday pasar malam. The water heater was leaking but hotel was quick to respond to repair. Downside was that the soundproofing was not good. There's a connecting door to the next room so I can hear my neighbours' conversation.

We stayed at Trove Hotel JB for one night on a whim to avoid traffic. It’s a comfy 4-star hotel, and the extra bed we ordered was set up quickly.
I rated cleanliness a 4 out of 5. While the room was generally tidy, there was litter under the beds, and the toilet corners had some dirt. It’s a bit disappointing since the hotel is relatively new. But overall, I’d stay here again if needed.

Service and breakfast is consistently good. The amenities in the hotel are the same as per usual. However, the shops around have mostly closed down. The Starbucks & massage parlour as well as the eatery just below are all gone. Most of the staff have changed. Quite a bit of new people.
Third floor had a puddle of water that was not noticeable as it was raining heavily & kinda dark, my son ended up slipping and falling. Just grateful that nothing serious happened other than a light injury. Called the front desk immediately upon reaching the room. But after some time , there seemed to be a new puddle at the same area. No sign was put up for wet floor.

This was a return trip for us to Sunway Big Box Hotel.
We booked the family suite for three guests and requested a large bed in a quiet room, as some rooms face the side with the live band at night. The staff were friendly, and check-in was smooth and hassle-free. Since we arrived very early, we left our luggage with the concierge.
The hotel later sent us a WhatsApp message to inform us that our room was ready. Collecting the keys was quick and easy—just showed the message and we were good to go.
The family suite was excellent: spacious, clean, and well-equipped, featuring two restrooms and a separate bar area with a coffee machine and microwave.
We truly enjoyed our stay at Sunway Big Box and will definitely return again soon!
Popped over to Johor for an impromptu trip and ended up staying at KSL Hot Spring Resort. Overall, a very positive experience.
• Cleanliness & Room: I’d rate the hygiene at 88% and above. The room was well-maintained, smelled fresh, and felt ”good enough” for a comfortable stay (not for view). Definitely worth the price paid.
• Location: This hotel is best suited for those traveling by car. It is tucked away in a quieter spot, but very convenient to get to Tebrau and Mount Austin (lots of food and cafes nearby!).
• Parking: A big plus for road trippers—parking lot is free for hotel guests.
• 24hr front desk Service: The staff here are very helpful and friendly. Check-in and check-out were a breeze.
If you have your own transport and want a clean, quiet, high-value place to stay near the Mount Austin/AEON Tebrau area, this is a solid choice. Will definitely consider coming back.

I’m giving this hotel 3 stars because it delivers exactly that — a textbook 3-star experience. If you’re walking from JB CIQ, take a moment to pray for your luggage wheels. The cobblestone pavement on the way is a certified durability test for any suitcase. The reception staff, to their credit, were professional and efficient, setting the stay off on a positive note.
There’s no air-conditioning in the corridors on the way from the lobby to the rooms, which makes sense once you feel the lobby itself — it’s cooled to near polar conditions, possibly at the expense of the upper floors. The lobby even has a convenience stall with tables and chairs — great for a quick snack or late-night instant noodle run. The fact that they sell noodles complete with disposable bowls almost makes it feel planned.
I stayed on the 19th floor in a room that could politely be described as functional. It came with two sockets, a few hangers in an open closet, and no mini-fridge, so don’t bring anything perishable unless you plan to eat it immediately. The vinyl flooring showed signs of wear, and a quick look under the bed revealed a generous collection of dust. The AC was the old-school fan coil type, and thankfully, it worked perfectly fine.
The bathroom, however, turned into an adventure of its own. The shower head was fixed in place, the glass partition far too short, and the result was a small-scale water park after every shower — fun only if you enjoy slipping hazards. The toilet needed a two-flush routine, and the bidet hose leaked enough to make using it a careful balancing act.
Then there was the Great Towel Shortage. Despite two guests, we received one face towel. There was no hand soap either — only the all-purpose shampoo dispenser in the shower. When housekeeping came, they simply rehung the used towels instead of replacing them. The lone face towel, which I’d pressed into service to mop up the flooded floor, was removed and never replaced. We ended up with just two towels for our second night. I was too tired to argue.
Breakfast was a pleasant surprise — the buffet was reasonably priced and had a good range of options.
Overall, this hotel is best suited for travelers who can adapt and aren’t thrown off by a few inconveniences. If you’re the kind of person who enjoys finding creative solutions when things don’t go perfectly, you might even appreciate it here. But if you’re after consistent comfort, you’ll probably want to look elsewhere. Staying here is a bit like driving a reliable car with no seat cushions — it gets you where you need to go, but the ride won’t be entirely comfortable.

For the price paid, which includes breakfast, the room rate is fair. However, the cleanliness of the room needs significant improvement. I was fully aware that this is an old hotel with outdated facilities before making the booking, but even an old hotel should still maintain basic cleanliness standards.
I found hair on the bedsheets and in the bathtub. Although there is a bathtub, there was no stopper, so soaking was not possible. That said, even with a stopper, we likely would not have used it as the tub appeared dirty and stained. The same issue applies to the basin, there was no stopper, and my small toothpaste nearly fell into the drain.
As mentioned in other reviews, the hotel is very noisy at night, with loud music from the 6F nightclub continuing past 2am, even though we stayed on the 15F
That said, the hotel staff were excellent, from the front desk to the porters and restaurant staff, everyone was genuinely helpful and polite. Within a 5 minute walk, there are many kopitiams offering great Malay food. Most patrons are locals, so English communication may be limited.
Swimming pool at 7F with a small garden which is nice!

Great
GGuest UserWe had a very memorable stay at the Double Tree over the past few days. Everything was smooth and the hotel lobby was grander than we had expected. It is also very nicely in theme for Christmas.
I must commend staffs from the Makan Kitchen for being so generous and friendly. Special mention goes to chef Zul and also especially Ain. Her warmth and thoughtfulness really made our evening memorable and pleasant.
From the dining hall too was the manager Fizah. She had gone out of her way to entertain us and made sure we were well taken care of. Wonderful team. Thank you.

TteeheeheeIt's about a 20-30min car ride away from checkpoint. When I stepped into the place to check-in at night, it looked really big and grand.
Very peaceful location with nothing much around - good to chill and relax. Feels like the equivalent of sentosa cove area in SG.
Room is big and generally well maintained. There's a few ants in the kitchenette so that part needs improvement. Bed is super comfy.
Bfast buffet included. There's a variety of food but tastewise it's decent, some hit and misses.
Gym is well-equipped, pool is partially sheltered and clean - so rain or shine it's all good.
Our package comes with one time free lounge usage from 10am to 5pm but there was nothing much. I will not pay extra for it. There was no one manning the place. The small lounge area comes with coffee machine, a few snacks that went stale, and bottled fruit juice that tasted very artificial.
Apart from above, all staffs we encountered were great and polite. Overall, great place to stay in, value-for-money.
AAnonymous UserThis hotel is conveniently located just 160 meters, a 5-minute walk, from Aeon Mall Bukit Indah, surrounded by restaurants, cafes, and spas. Sutera Mall is also easily accessible by car. Legoland and Hello Kitty Town are only about a 10-15 minute drive away, and there's even a direct bus service to Singapore.
SsakiiiiiinahMagical mornings and sunsets, will definitely stay again. The dinner set could have been better, it was clearly indicated that a main, soup, drink and dessert would be about 35rm nett, but when we enquired, they said we had to add on for the dessert. It was clearly stated but i didn't feel like arguing because the food wasn't very great so I just left.
The receptionist and everyone else was good, breakfast was okay, no other complaints aside from the above.
LLLeongVery clean, comfortable and spacious studio apartment next to R&F Mall. Within 10 minutes walk from JB CIQ. As my arrival was after 5pm, they gave instructions to get the keys at the lobby mailbox for self check-in. Thereafter, show to Security to enter lobby.
Stay includes use of gym, swimming pool, sauna, billiards and table tennis rooms. However, the swimming pool was closed for maintenance for 3 solid hours (9am to 12 noon) in the morning which was a great disappointment as I planned to relax in the pool prior to check-out. The agent, ANJU should have informed prior to checking in.
LLee Eng HuaThe front desk staff are friendly and helpful for the check in. Breakfast is fantastically great with wide varieties and taste awesome. Pool is quite standard in terms of design. Location is great in that it’s near to the fruit farm and firefly attractions. There are varieties of shops and cafes just outside the hotel. A small mall and supermarket is just next door and stalls with lots of durians nearby.
JJaymie SooThe good:
comfortable bed, decent cleanliness, working aircon, game console was cool, nice view at #48.
The bad:
Host expect you to contact them on the day else no sound no pic.
Sent a series of pictures and videos, shock to see they asked for deposit and my passport photo as part of their requirements. I’m not comfortable with that.
Drivers beware: This unit located at B1-2 is damn troublesome. I had to park outside the gantry and walked all the way to the end of the building (approx 200m one way) to get the card. The guard weren’t familiar with such arrangement had to call another guard over to assist in order to let me into the mailroom to retrieve the access card.
After that had to walk all the way back again to the entrance. When I drove to the gantry, the access card didn’t work, guard had to come over again to assist. End up found out it’s because the previous user did not “tap out” so we can’t “tap in”.
The wayfinding in the carpark is worse ever. Don’t know where to go up, don’t know where to exit. Turn round and round the entire carpark to find and realised it’s in the middle of nowhere.
Now for the accommodation itself, it’s decent. Towels were provided. No toothbrush provided but 8 combs provided instead (pic). The cups were damn disgusting (pic).
Overall will not return as the carpark and checkin experience was really a huge turnoff.
GGuest UserThe hotel and room are clean. Room however is a bit small. I took a single king-size bed with window.
Hotel is centrally located, and there is no shortage of food and massage outlets. One just need a bit of short walking to these places. Getting a Grab to the nearby KSL Shopping Mall is roughly RM5, and a 15-min drive.
RRenny RahmanWe travelled as a family and required connecting rooms. The front desk staff, Kestari, and manager, Lawrence, tried their best to put all 3 rooms we booked on the same floor as well as 2 out of 3 as connecting rooms. We are so thankful that they managed to get all of us on the same floor by upgrading our rooms, got us connecting rooms and even gave us complementary breakfast for all! What a wonderful and sweet thought as we checked in for my son's 4th birthday! Their breakfast spread is so, so good! Must get breakfast as part of your stay. The swimming pool is the highlight of our trip. All our kids aged 10 to 2 years old, enjoyed themselves! The gym and sauna look good! Thank you to the team especially the two who helped us.
