When on tour you get to find gems such as Hotell Carl Friman in Motala. Such a lovely place and if you are ever in need of a pleasurable hotel stay this is a place that I warmly recommend. The front desk was non-existent, there was no desire to help or make our stay pleasant. Every time we tried to get help we were told ”I don't know what you want me to do” and they apologized. Hair in the towel. The shower didn't work burned us. Service fee of SEK 80 regardless of what you wanted delivered to the room, the first time ever. The receptionist thought we could book a more expensive hotel if we wanted room service (this is a 4 star hotel). The breakfast plates on the buffet were replaced with smaller plates. No mini bar or fridge, no toiletries. A very suspicious white spot on the bedspread. When we were about to check out, the receptionist refused to ask how our stay was, instead telling us how amazing the breakfast was and asking rhetorical questions about the breakfast and the spa. We were in contact with 4 different receptionists but the same thing applied to all of them, they don't seem to want to work there. The hotel wants you to serve yourself, it’s even written on the walls.

We stayed on the top floor (7/F) with the view of the church and a square. Room is clean and the tub is large. Breakfast is good with a variety of bread and fresh fruits. You can also make your own mini pancakes. Location is perfect situated in the city centre close to train station. There are plenty of restaurants and sushi bars nearby. On the ground floor of the hotel there is a pub where you can grap a beer at around 90 skr. This is my second time staying at this hotel.

Welcoming at arrival, nice staff, great breakfast, and really great hamburger. The room i had was a really nice one, comfortable bed. There is really nothing to complain about, of course, if you want to make a trip to the town, it is a long way to walk.

Posizione comoda, parcheggio privato (attenzione se fanno qualche evento all'arena perchè i posti potrebbero scarseggiare). Location: the hotel is centrally located in Norrköping. Filmstaden with restaurants is less than a minute away. There is parking available in the Filmstaden parking structure. Check-in: the receptionist on duty was friendly and helpful. Room: the room was fairly dated and was overlooked by nearby apartments. The corridors at the hotel are dark and depressing. The room and bathroom were clean and that was a positive. The room was boiling hot despite there being a fan and us opening the windows when it cooled down outside. The beds were comfortable and the water pressure in the shower was good. Breakfast: a fairly standard Swedish hotel breakfast down in the basement. We still had to sign up for a time to have breakfast despite all Covid measures being dropped months earlier in Sweden. Wifi: perfectly adequate complimentary wifi. Overall: would we stay again? Yes, depending on the price. The location is excellent for exploring the city on foot.

Of the minuses: lack of parking at the hotel, BREAKFAST (it feels like it was given out from the previous day) There is a microwave and dishes for dinner.

What an awesome hotel in a city with old boring traditional hotels. And hotel is a great new asset to the city. Restaurant is hip and great value for money. Rooms are small but got all u need and feels more spacious than the sqm u get! Don't miss the gym which is much better than many hotel gyms!

I spent four nights at the BW Linkoping for a work meeting and my experience there was totally positive. This may be because i asked for a room facing the internal courtyard which was very quiet. The double room was not enormous but spacious enough and had all the amenities i needed: ironing board and iron (Yes! so often missing...), fridge with free bottled water, a safe, kettle and reliable wifi. There were also free drinks (and cake!) in the lobby at all times. The breakfast buffet was ample and really delicious, with many healthy options offered. The staff were friendly and the rooms spotless. I would very happily stay here again.

Still good, the buffet is also great. The only drawback is that it is on the other side of the river, which is considered a suburb, but the city is very small, and it only takes three to five minutes to walk.

Stayed a couple of nights with the family. The hotel is located in the middle of the square with many bars and restaurants right outside, the noise level is naturally very high, especially in the evening and at night. Stayed in a suite which was not as high standard as one could ask for. The service level at the hotel is acceptable and the breakfast was above expectations. Most likely will not stay here again.

The family room, but the hotel room is still small, the bathroom is also small, and the facilities are average. You can park temporarily at the hotel entrance, and then you have to go around to the back of the hotel to enter the underground parking lot. It should be possible to enter with a credit card. I used the hotel room key card to open the parking lot door. Later, when I went out, I was worried about not being able to get out. I asked people that I didn't need to swipe my card when I went out. Standard Western breakfast. The hotel is quaint. It seems that there are many tourists who travel with families outside Sweden to stay with children.

Although it is supposed to be ”central”, it does requires from a quarter to twenty minutes walk to reach the very central part of town. Still, of course, it is not in the outskirts. The hotel is spacious and has plenty of rooms to offer in different wings. The reception is welcoming and the staff professional and friendly. The room I had was perfect size, with all the needed essentials. A good desk, an armchair, space for jackets, the bag. From what I remember the wardrobe was very essential and didn't have much of shelves. I suppose they do not expect people to stay too long. The bathroom was of a decent size, with good space and surfaces and all I needed for a shower, including an hair dryer. The bed was comfortable, but the main problem was that the room lacked AC. The first night I didn't realize that, as I did hear some ”mechanical ventilation” in the room (which turned out to be the bathroom one only) and it got warm very quickly. Luckily the windows can be open, but it makes the temperature very uneven and maybe in the coldest nights it is not the best solution. It was also quite disturbing with the door for the corridor quite close to my room, slamming heavily. The breakfast was the high point - I could spot a broad selection of food, although more nordic oriented. I would have appreciated a touch of organic food, if not local, more interesting tea and nicer juices. They seem very industrial and some lack taste. The bread was instead fresh and genuine. It could be quite crowded during breakfast time, but not an impossible situation to solve. I noticed though that my room and the area around the elevantors, felt a bit outdated, torn. My room was definitely very nicely cleaned (although it didn't get clean during my stay) but it was very standard in the quality of the materials and the appearance. Alltogether a perfectly ok stay. The price was not too high, but definitely not on the cheapest side either, but I think reasonable for the location and the quality.

Booked this place on a whim mainly for the name, as massive fans of Fawlty Towers. Arrived to a fantastic and sublime hotel. The interior when you enter is part ******* House and part 1920s classic hotel in all the good ways. There’s cool quotes on the walls and funky pictures and portraits. There’s a knight in shining Armor literally in the stairs. Frankly at check in I was already intrigued. Once we got our room (we got the 4 person room which I think there’s only one of) we opened the door and both my kids squealed with delight and glee as they both were swept away by the grandiose interior, with two separate double bedrooms connected by a doorway, and through one of the rooms there was a snag staircase leading to the best bathroom I’ve seen. It has starry lights in the ceiling, a lovely shower and a little old chair to just chill in whilst sitting around in the loo. When we finally went to bed the beds were “The best we’ve ever slept in” according to wife and kids. Really comfy and well made. I’m also very pleased with the tv having a pairing setting so you can cast from your devices to so you can watch all your shows and downloaded Netflix series. Big win. In terms of location, it is by a big road so if you keep the windows open you may get some noise, though I didn’t particularly notice it. No offense to Linköping intended, but by 10PM I’d say it was pretty calm and not some kind of metropolitan Hellscape. It’s worth it since the hotel is right by the station AND only a 5 minute walk to the center of town and 9 minutes to the cathedral and called. Overall, I booked this on a whim and ended up finding a gem I really hope to visit again.

The reception was very warm. The hotel is very well located, you are in the old town in a short time. There is a breakfast buffet, the ham! You can't eat there for dinner. But the lady at the reception recommended me a nice pizzeria, easily reachable at foot. Unfortunately, the place was a little narrow in the single room. I had a great effort to spread my large bag. It had little space on the ground.

I wish I could give 5 stars but due to service, it bumped down. The room was excellent, as was the breakfast and the coziness. However, the service was just depressing. The man who greeted us as the counter looked like he wanted to be anywhere else but there, with apple AirPods in his ears and a look on his face that wasn't welcoming. He didn't give us any information about the facilities, just gave us the key and pointed us to the direction of our room. The next morning, nobody in the staff greeted us and trying to smile to them was like trying to smile to a murderous gazelle. I don't understand why such a nice hotel would hire staff who can't even use simple social skills or even acknowledge their guests. Would not come back here because of that.

The hostel is situated just above the train station building in Norrköping. For being a hostel it is a great place to stay at. The room I had was small, but there are other larger rooms. Despite being just above the train station it was very quiet. The shared living room is cosy with a very nice balcony facing the city. The kitchen is clean and cosy. It was clean with welcoming atmosphere. There is a large parking nearby. Wifi is very good. Quick and accurate communication with the staff. If you a looking for a nice budget place to stay at, I can recommend it.

I was there for work after a very exhausting trip in India. Hotel Staff was very respectful to not disturb me but at the same time was always available when I needed help. Rooms are super cozy and take you back in time with the vintage decor. The only drawbacks were that I really didnt have much space in my room and there is not many options in the breakfast buffet, but maybe that is just nordic style. Staff was very cooperative through email even after I left. Strand made my stay a lot less stressful and tiring than I feared it to be.

Basically Motala stadshotell has a good potential to be a really nice hotel. Just fine central position at the main square. But unfortunately it is in great need of a renovation. It is quite worn and not very fresh. Especially the bathrooms look like something from the early 80-ies. And probably are... On the positive side: the beds are just fine - which of course is essential for a good nights sleep. Breakfast ok, but the breakfast room - the hotel's restaurant/bar - is surprisingly gloomy and worn. Black and grey colour scheme here. It is a beer joint. Staff ok, but not overwhelmingly nice. It is not very expensive - you get what you pay for and it's ok for a night or possibly two.
