Black Dragon Pool is located in the city of Lijiang, next to Heilongtan National Park. 🚗 Transportation: If you are staying in downtown Lijiang or Lijiang Old Town, you can walk here as it is not very far. Alternatively, you can call a Didi. 🏞 The surrounding atmosphere features a lake in the front and the national park in the back. If you want to enter the national park, there is an entrance fee. We went to take photos in the evening before sunset, so we didn't enter the park. The atmosphere was very nice, and in some spots, you can see Jade Dragon Snow Mountain.

The pond with scenic view in the old town of Lijiang, located near old town Lijiang. There's entry fee for 50 $CNY and reusable, only cash and WeChat pay channel not Alipay. The day I visited was cloudy so left before raining. The water is emerald green 💚 and lovely cafe. Two streams of spring water poured out from under an ancient chestnut tree at the foot of the Hillside Slope, forming a pond of almost 40,000 square meters. The spring water is as pure as jade. The surface of the water is filled with white seaweed flowers. Fish swim underwater. Flowers and trees on the shore of the pond are dotted with towers and pavilions, forming a very beautiful landscape. This park is not only the source of the waters of the ancient city of Likiang, but also the place where the national protected cultural relics of Likiang are most concentrated. The area where the Black Dragon Pond is located is a valley surrounded by steep cliffs and wall-forming mountains that protect these places from air-drying winds, and a huge reservoir humidifies the air and creates a pleasant microclimate. On weekends, many citizens and tourists come to enjoy the local beauties, stroll through the park and have a picnic in this extraordinarily beautiful place. In the Park Black Dragon Pond, there are two ponds, separated by a bridge in the middle. Ancient trees grow in the Black Dragon Pond Park, among which chestnut, cypress and birch are the most common. The mountain behind the Black Dragon Pond looks like a giant sleeping elephant in the distance, which is why it is called Elephant Mountain. Elephant Mountain is relatively low, but very steep. You can quickly climb and reach the top in 30 minutes. You can relax in the pavilion at the top of the hill overlooking the entire Lijiang Dam. At the northern gate of the Black Dragon Pond there is a typical Nakhi building - the Lijiang Museum, which houses the world's largest collection of Dongba relics.
