Last week in Cebu, the storm was relentless, with gloomy skies and strong winds every day. But even the weather couldn’t stop me from visiting the breathtaking Eli Rock in Boljoon. I’m from Dalaguete, and since Boljoon is just 18 km away, I couldn’t resist the spontaneous adventure. I hopped on a non-airconditioned public bus, convincing my niece and sister to join me. The storm had quieted the entire town, making it peaceful yet mysterious as we climbed up Eli Rock. It was just the three of us on the trail, with rocks possibly shaken by the storm, but nothing could prepare us for the view at the top! From the summit, we were greeted with the most stunning view of Boljoon—the crystal-clear waters, small fishing boats bobbing gently, cars along the national road, and the iconic Boljoon Church in all its glory. The scenery was where the mountains beautifully met the sea—unlike anything I’ve seen before! If you’re traveling to Cebu, even if you don’t plan to stay in Boljoon, I can’t recommend enough to drop by Eli Rock. You'll receive a lecture and tour showing you butterflies in various stages of their life cycle, and butterfly collections and artworks made from damaged butterfly wings – even a presidential portrait! It's 4km west of the downtown area, around P110 in a taxi. The best time for viewing is the morning, and the best time of year is from June to February, when the butterflies are breeding. I highly recommended it for you to see, for the small space that's there it's laded out very will. It's beautiful to see that the butterflies come and go as they please. The original owner was very God gifted in his many talents. The owner / caretaker now also the love for butterflies and his gift talent to keep the living and the past alive. To my surprise there were more than coloured beautiful butterflies and moths to look at, but you have to go and see for yourself. You can learn about lot about butterflies and stories from the owners. You will not be disappointed !

I've never been to any Ocean parks before. I've seen pictures and videos of what's inside but I wanted to see them for myself personally. So, I finally went to one and it's at Cebu Ocean park. When you think of Ocean parks, it's a place to enjoy and bond with families and friends. But for my first time going there, I was not with my family, not with friends, but only by myself. I actually enjoyed my time there. I saw different kinds of sea creatures I've never seen before. There was also a bird show where they make the bird show tricks, and a big aquarium where people in scuba gear swam with the animals and feed them. I wasn't able to take solo pictures because I was still too shy to ask people to take my pictures. And the staff there were not allowed to take picture of visitors unless it was their official camera wherein you have to pay for it. But overall, it was just a chill tour for me. A first time experience as a solo traveller. I ordered a quarter kilo of original lechon with pork belly, kangkong, garlic rice, cheese sticks, grilled pork belly, sisig and a watermelon shake. I left so satisfied. I love this place. This mesmerizing sunset can be seen in one of the mountains in Cebu! Mt. Naupa is located in Brgy. Lanas, Naga, Cebu. This place is near my hometown where I grew up so it's quite familiar. You can take a bus at South bus terminal going to Toledo City. Ask the driver to drop you off at "Eskina Lanas" the fare is around 70php. Going to the mountain you can ride a motorbike, 100php should be enough to pay. The road is fine it's just narrow. You don't have to trek for a long time that's the thing I like the most. You must walk in cebu city historic centre to enjoy the amazing architecture which combines modern and impressive buldings with traditional Spanish architecture. Walking on the streets is fun, there are many landmarks such as museums, parks and temples. I came to Cebu for a 10 days trip but I would recommend at least three weeks to travel all the way from the north to the south of the island.
