Fort Lily

#travellerswonderland Fort Lily was built in 1858 and is named after Margaret Alice Lily De Windt, the Ranee - wife of the second Rajah Charles Brooke. She had 3 forts named after her: in Kuching, Sri Aman and here. The fort saw quite some action with Iban warrior Rentap. The State Government in 2016 budgetted RM 5 million for a necessary restauration. Hopefully it will be as excellently done as Fort Alice in Sri Aman. 5 stars then! The fort has also been a police and government offices.
