The temple houses the Buddha's relics

Chiang Mai's largest temple within the ancient city has four Buddha halls in the cardinal directions, each enshrining a golden Buddha statue. The main hall contains the three most spiritually significant Buddha images in northern Thailand. There is a golden pagoda about 20 meters high within the temple, which is said to contain the relics of Buddha Shakyamuni. Open from 5 am to 8:30 pm.
