Aomori Shirakami Sanchi - Twelve Lakes

Twelve Lakes (Juniko Twelve Lakes, Juniko means 12 lakes in Japanese) is a collective name for 33 ponds and lakes. This area is also listed as a UNESCO World Heritage site due to its beautiful scenery. In April this year, I visited the Twelve Lakes in Aomori Shirakami Sanchi. I took the Japan Railway from Akita to Juniko Station and stayed at the Awone Shirakami Juniko Hotel for two days and one night. I wandered around the Twelve Lakes with the hotel's tour guide. It is truly a beautiful place with various lakes, reflections of the forests in the water, and birds in the mountains, like a fairyland! Additionally, the food at the hotel was top-notch, offering high-quality Japanese cuisine!
