Penang's Hidden Speakeasy - Magazine 63

Cocktail culture has evolved beyond the traditional Singapore Sling or Margarita. Nowadays, cocktail bars showcase unique concepts and recipes, offering visitors an elevated experience. Recently, I visited an intriguing speakseasy called Magazine 63 in Penang, Georgetown. The place boasts a traditional Chinese inn setting, and their cocktails are creatively named after famous Chinese alcohol (女儿红 Nv Er Hong), Kungfu moves (醉拳 (Drunken Master, and characters (四大美女 The Legendary Four Beauties). Intrigued by the names, we couldn't resist trying them all! The cocktails left a lasting impression on us - not only were the names distinctive, but the recipes were also out of this world. Particularly, Nv Er Hong stood out with its combination of various alcohols and beer, making it a potent concoction that could easily put you to sleep with just one cup. If you're not a strong drinker, I recommend trying the Legendary Four Beauties, as they offer sweeter and lighter flavours. Overall, our experience at Magazine 63 was wonderful, as we relished the music and the fantastic selection of drinks! Address: 63, Jalan Magazine, 10300 George Town, Pulau Pinang, Malaysia Ambience: Chill Highlights: Cocktails Price: $$ #cocktails
