#penangtrip Chew Clan is said to be the biggest among the rest. There are quite a couple of shops along the way. There is a cafe as well. Instagramable places. Quite worth a visit. Free entrance, there is a toilet along the way.an iconic landmark of Penang, the clan jetties are a row of ‘boardwalks’ that extend into the sea, each flanked by houses presumably owned by members of the same surname clan. each jetty was subtly different from the next, increasing somewhat in grandeur until Chew Jetty, the most famous of the jetties. walking down each jetty took a total of just over an hour, taking in the views of birds, the ocean and the architecture of the jetties. it’s a serene, peaceful experience that you can slot into any jam-packed day for some downtime! Chew Jetty itself has stalls and a temple leading up to the jetty, while the others have stalls along the roadside. Note that vehicles regularly pass through these boardwalks, so be mindful!
